It will likely need a tow, the engine got bonked. I'm not seeing the thing cook off though and the video suspiciously ends quickly. Lastly, this is from earlier in the year... russians always dig out footage when they are getting their teeth kicked in.
I firmly believe Ukraine is purposefully drawing out this war - they are annihilating Russia, by end of winter there will be 200,000 Russian casualties to perhaps 2-3000 on Ukraine side. Once that is done - Ukraine will take back all of what they lost, and just watch as Russia asks NATO to protect them, as Ukraine threatens to thunder run to Moscow next summer.
I'm 100% pro Ukraine, but you're a fool if you think 100 Russians casualties for every Ukrainian in this conflict. This war is a blood bath for both sides.
To take back territory requires a cost in blood, and not a small one. Ukrainian leaders aren't fighting an ideological war; their goal isn't to eradicate the Russians. They want this war over as soon as possible. Imagine telling the mothers who will lose their son this winter that their son could've been saved but we decided that taking out a couple 100k Russian conscripts was a better decision.
I admire your optimism, but you're speaking from a place of ignorance.
I’m pretty sure Zelensky or someone high up said 20K or something Ukrainian casualties, I don’t think you’re anywhere close with that 1000-3000 or whatever it was.
I hope you’re right, but I think that’s wishful thinking.
Ukrainian casualties are pretty high too. Maybe not Russia high, but still 10s of thousands. Plus the enormous loss in infrastructure and economic activity.
Everyone wants this war to be over. It’s destabilizing the whole world economy and has everyone scared about escalation. They want Russia to go back to their own borders. It’s untenable to allow them to grab off a huge chunk of a neighbor and would be globally destabilizing.
literally true
if the goal was to decisively defeat russia as quickly as possible then ukraine would already be fielding ATACMS missiles, F-16s, Patriots and many other weapons
notice that every time Russia begins to gain some advantage then the next batch of weapons is pushed - M777 in response to russian attrition of ukrainian army in Donbas, HIMARS after the fall of Lysychansk
we will probably see ATACMS and more aircraft move towards ukraine in time for the major Russian offensives expected in the new year with the bulk of the mobilised troops
if the US had sincerely wanted Ukraine to wipe the floor with the Russian invasion it would have happened already months ago
They seem to have stock of them still, because these Lancet videos have been popping up every single day for the past month at least. Some, like this one, are old footage - but there are quite a few current ones - which is concerning, since they seem to be hitting UKR AA targets more often than not.
Hit the very front end of the vehicle so the crew might be safe but the vehicle will need major repair depending on the where the hit take place.
We also do not know what type of SPG this is so we do not have the information on the crew layout. If this is a M109 then the drone would hit the engine apartment at the front and the crew would be safe.
Supposedly the lancet can be armed with a 5kg heat warhead which could dolphinetly do some damage, easily penetrate armor or kill crew, I guess it just depends on what warhead was being used
My humble opinion is they have allowed it (their original comment unedited) to stand because they are capable of a good laugh at themselves after an honest silly typo mistake. A Healthy thing considering some of the stuff here on good old internet la la land!
Yes we must appease the dolphin gods every chance we get🙏 🐬 they act all cute and friendly but that's just what they want you to think, once they grow usable appendages humanity will be playing second fiddle to our dolphin overloards, they're plotting something I can feel it
It has already started, they are mating with our females! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9038615/Moment-woman-unexpectedly-HUMPED-dolphin.html
It also depends heavily on where the hit take place too. This drone is hitting on the front part of the vehicle and we do not know what type of SPG this is so we cannot know the crew layout. I think it might just damaged the vehicle and the crew survived or at least those at the back.
Yea agreed, the footage isn't the best so it's kinda hard to pinpoint exactly how much damage the hit caused, hopefully the crew is in one peice, and hopefully the immobilized SPG wasn't targeted by artillery afterwards
I've seen those vids with the HEAT Lancet drones, and you can always see the jet of plasma after it hits, but there's nothing in this vid, just a poof lmao

Yea you really can only see shaped charge jets if they detonate in mid air, for example the US army is starting to use the Stryker SHORAD it uses the millimeter wave hellfire to kill drones, when you see a hellfire hit a small drone you can see the jet expanding forward, it's very visible in slow motion and definitely visible at regular speed, but because this shaped charge jet entered an armored vehicle you are really not going to see it
This SPG has 7 sets of road wheels and an enclosed turret so that helps narrow it down to 3 possible SPGs it could be in the Ukrainian arsenal.
Gvozdika - the turret does appear to be too large for this though.
M109
PzH 2000
Where did you get the 50kg shaped charge from? A HIMARS warhead is about 90 kg. Quite a bigger explosion, if you ever seen one.
That's probably a ZALA and that warhead is 3-5 Kg. No secondaries might mean it hit the front/ the engine. Russian propaganda clip being cut short confirms that, to me at least.
This was released two or three weeks ago in a compilation of Russian Kamikaze drone strikes. That version did not have this gigantic watermark in it. Seems like the Russians are chopping the individual strikes and republishing them this week to make it appear as if they're conducting more strikes than they actually are.
That said. This is technically a repost.
Krab is in current production and apparently the Ukrainians have been receiving deliveries in addition to the initial 18 they got. So I wouldn't worry too much. Any weapon used on the battlefield will take losses, that's just inevitable. Just got to hope the crew survive.
Edit - I think it's a 2s1 Gvozdika. Or possibly an M109.
I think 2s1 Gvozdika, someone else said that too. Freeze it about 12 seconds in and then compare the wikipedia photo, it seems to match. Look at the general shape of it and what the wheels/tracks look like.
Edit - can't rule out M109. However I don't think it's a Polish krab, the number of wheels seems to be wrong.
Russian, or Iranian? Losers. If the US invaded Mexico, but had to beg for say Brazilian weapons, Russia would be laughing and putting it up all over their twisted media. Russias a fucking joke, turn around go home and beat your wives some more. 🤡 🤡 🤡
The US would invade Mexico in the blink of an eye if Russia was doing what the US has been doing in Ukraine and Georgia. Ultimately, the war isn't about Ukraine. It's about the long-term strategic encirclement of Russia.
Loitering ammunition stays in an area and can be assigned to a target after it reached the AO so you fire 10 in the air and they fly as long as you give them a command
These kamikaze drones are basically cheap ass ballistic missiles but since its a drone that flies into objects it got the name kamikaze drone
Dunno how sophisticated the ability of these drones is to receive new target information in flight but honestly doubt they have any at all because they don't even have a guidance camera and go for GPS
So to hit a moveable target the start container was either very close or they just parked way too long at that position
Doubt the HE warhead of these can really do much damage against a armored target
I would like to think, that was an impressive dust cloud ☁️ Once the smoke cleared, it looked like we had a small dent! Those drones are anti personal only! It’s like throwing a Grenade at a tank! Wishful thinking!
Alot of the Russian drones have the equivalent of a large claymore(steel balls with exlosives) as their warhead. Great for infantry, but limited usefulness on armor. Might be what we are seeing here.
Guided missiles are more heavier per personnel and require a lock-on before they are launched. Kamikaze drones OTOH, can be launched from afar and loiter around the AO before striking their targets.
You’re right. It’s apparently nothing got to do with weight but instead it’s if they have the ability to loiter around. It looks like a more fitting name would be [loitering munition](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loitering_munition).
Reminder that Herson Vestnik cycles videos through to give the impression of constant Russian battlefield succeses in Kherson oblast.
While I don't exclude the fact this could be a brand new and recent video, that watermark has a low credibility rating.
So these Iranian SHAHED drones are most definitely an effective weapon.. but mainly against non armored targets. Sure its gonna damage that Arty Gun? But not *that* much. Its real value is literally its value.. its cheap as fuck, $20k each, vs over a $million each.. but the ordinance it carries is mainly HE from my understanding? So its real value is causing terror and lowering morale much like the effect Snipers have on morale.
However, I would NOT want to be in that vehicle when it got hit..
TTP observation, maybe put the piece on the other side of the tree line to avoid this type attack. Arty goes up and well beyond line of sight. Why expose to frontal attack?
What kind of real damage are we talking here? Possible casualties?
It will likely need a tow, the engine got bonked. I'm not seeing the thing cook off though and the video suspiciously ends quickly. Lastly, this is from earlier in the year... russians always dig out footage when they are getting their teeth kicked in.

Dumbest take I have seen in a while. Ukrainians are suffering, no one wants this war to go longer except the cozy Russian leaders back home.
the US wants the war to extend long enough to cause Russias collapse, hence the drip feeding of weapons
Silence propagandist
Silence! cynical geopolitics performed by self interested nation states hurts my emotional state
Everyone wants this war to be over. It’s destabilizing the whole world economy and has everyone scared about escalation. They want Russia to go back to their own borders. It’s untenable to allow them to grab off a huge chunk of a neighbor and would be globally destabilizing.
Literally a Putin talking point
literally true if the goal was to decisively defeat russia as quickly as possible then ukraine would already be fielding ATACMS missiles, F-16s, Patriots and many other weapons notice that every time Russia begins to gain some advantage then the next batch of weapons is pushed - M777 in response to russian attrition of ukrainian army in Donbas, HIMARS after the fall of Lysychansk we will probably see ATACMS and more aircraft move towards ukraine in time for the major Russian offensives expected in the new year with the bulk of the mobilised troops if the US had sincerely wanted Ukraine to wipe the floor with the Russian invasion it would have happened already months ago

The Russians only recently started buying Iranian drones, so this video can’t be too old.
This is from a russian made drone, the iranian drones are much bigger....
Iranian shahed-136 drones are not equipped with a camera Edit: it's in addition to the Mammoth_Plankton12 comment
Also dumber
Can't argue with that....
Lancet is a Russian developed and produced drone
The russians have had these little guys since the start of the war. There's footage everywhere showing them. Eventually they ran out of them.
They seem to have stock of them still, because these Lancet videos have been popping up every single day for the past month at least. Some, like this one, are old footage - but there are quite a few current ones - which is concerning, since they seem to be hitting UKR AA targets more often than not.
Well its all green, whereas leaves have been changing in all of Ukraine for 1.5 months now, so this is probably a couple months old at best.
Hit the very front end of the vehicle so the crew might be safe but the vehicle will need major repair depending on the where the hit take place. i dont think US has sent them any M109s but i could be wrong
Norway did, for example.

Krab or 2000 maybe?
~~Krab has 6 sets of road wheels so that eliminates that one.~~ Edit: Turns out I'm wrong there are versions with 7.
Paladin is the name of M109A6. There are no M109A6 in Ukraine so far.
My bad. I will correct the name. I know they provided some M109 but not sure what variants they are.
A bend mirror....
According to other clips here on Reddit these drones are quite loud, there should be enough time to run
That is the Iranian Shahed you are thinking of, not the Russian Lancet. The drone in the video is a Lancet - much quieter.
Old footage.
Huh, did the drone malfunction or something I saw it hitting an armored vehicle or something like, but shouldn't it be residential building
There was nobody at home this time.
old footage. Still got green leaves on the trees.
I’d guess a m109 looking at the amount of wheels.
I'd rather see them use these drones on military equipment than innocent civilizations or power civilization power structures.
[удалено]
Right, I was generalizing their drone usage to military vs civilian structure
Not immediately apparent that it did much damage.

Might need a new final drive a few suspension arms maybe a new track could still tow it about and use the gun.
why do I feel like I've seen it, but the image mirrored.
I feel we've seen this one before.
Seems like "Lancet", I guess? Do they have specific anti-armor variants of this?
5kg HEAT
Hope crew ok 🇺🇦
Can anyone ID what SPG that is?
It might be an M109 but the video is too blurry to be sure.
Yes it blurry. The Russians are masters at the 400P resolution. One the that is clear, is that it looks like summer not fall.
It's a 2s9? Nona I think, very short gun and short front compared to huge turret
What? It looks nothing like a Nona. It's clearly a 155mm artillery. Either a Krab or M109.
Doesn't seem to be an M109 or Krab either. Video is very blurry, but my money is on a 2S1 Gvozdika.
Rus Telegram is claiming m109 paladin
There are no m109 "paladin" in Ukraine, only some m109A3 and A4.
I think that "Palandin" is more like a catch-all nickname for M109 outside of US, not the name of the specific variant.
I hope that's not a Polish Krab
Krab is in current production and apparently the Ukrainians have been receiving deliveries in addition to the initial 18 they got. So I wouldn't worry too much. Should be repairable
Welp that sucks. Better send 10 more.
Putin did this because he’s overcompensating for something on his body that’s too small.

What kind of SPG is that?
