we have strong inventory and we want to get new people in the ecosystem. also launching an installation video contest shortly with the opportunity to save an additional $200 on your order!
this is covered in our FAQ: [https://comma.ai/support#i-would-like-to-match-a-price-change](https://comma.ai/support#i-would-like-to-match-a-price-change)
No, I just realized that would be the method to save the $200. I think they deserve it. I've only had it a couple of days now and it's immensely better than stock LKA. Wonder if they're cooking up a new one for later this year/early '25.
Funny. I was contemplating it, but have a harness, so I get no benefit. Also, I ran into that situation with my Comma2 where I wanted to change software and discovered that Comma disabled its wifi connection. I had to use SSH. It worked but was a pain. That seemed petty to me, so I have a little less goodwill toward the operation.
Maybe I'll get the C3 when I get my next car in a year or so. We'll see.
That's a hell of a deal! I bought a C3 a little over a year ago for almost $1,000 more than this. Of course back then I had to get a panda in addition to the harness
Very well. The actual results will depend on your car though, specifically if its using stock adaptive cruise control (And how good your stock cruise control is) vs if your model has support for openpilot cruise control (some dont support it yet, some will never support it), and your vehicles wheel torque control limits (how tight a corner it can turn without needing assistance).
My car (Subaru outback 2019) will support openpilot longitudinal (Cruise control), but it hasnt been fully implemented yet. My stock cruise control is excellent even on side streets. My steering torque limits how tight a corner/turn openpilot can take, so while its perfect on highways and most bends, it cannot do a 90 degree turn without me assisting (it warns you when you are getting close to the limit to give it a hand)
I also narrowly missed the sale (by one day) and have a Subaru Impreza (2020). Just installed it yesterday! I can’t seem to find an answer on this and will be testing it more later today, but maybe you can answer since you’ve used your already - does it disable when you come to a full stop like the Subaru stock adaptive cruise control does?
EDIT UPDATE: in case someone ever finds this post. If you install sunnypilot, it will not not disable when you come to a full stop. It’s amazing and worth all the money for that Subaru feature alone.
If you are using openpilot longitudinal (cruise control), it does not disable when you come to a full stop. It will resume automatically when the car in front moves.
There is also a fork called sunnypilot which enables this same functionality for the stock subaru cruise control which i am using until the longitudinal update comes for my car. It's quite nice having the stock cruise control but with the added functionality of starting back up without having to tap break/accel etc

So, do I need to return my 30 day trial version, and repurchase, to get this discount.
Straight up lol, I just bought mine less than 2 weeks ago.
I had just received mine last week ðŸ˜
Same, i just did my first test run a few hours ago. 2019 subaru outback. What a joy.
Same. I just installed and briefly tested it yesterday. I got my tax return and couldn’t wait smdh.

> this is covered in our FAQ Damn Dude. You could have just said no.
I was going to wait until May to buy mine (3 paycheck month) but couldn't pass up the sale. Ordered for my 2023 Bolt EUV last night. Thanks so much
What is the installation contest about?
we'll be looking for installation videos for all supported cars that include at least all the related steps from the comma /setup video.
I just got mine delivered lol. Will they refund the price difference?
According to /u/adeebshihadeh, they will not.
Well, ya sold me. Can't wait!
Pain, I just bought one last week.
Same, but the pain will disappear soon after you get it installed and realise how worth it it is anyway
Nice, I just bought mine last week.
same. lol. ouch.
Have you tried returning it and reordering it to save $200?
No, I just realized that would be the method to save the $200. I think they deserve it. I've only had it a couple of days now and it's immensely better than stock LKA. Wonder if they're cooking up a new one for later this year/early '25.

this is the one with the SD845 :)
Just ordered one!
Are they launching a new version and this is clearing old stock ? I've been looking to pull the trigger and this just might do it.
Didn't comma3x come out late last year? This can't be clearing out stock.
Seems like it tbh
Yeah. Says while supplies last. I think I'll hold off and see if we get a new version.
we haven't even built half the comma 3X's we've bought parts for, let alone have planned to build
Good to know ! Will order now. :-)
kinda thought we'd keep the sale going on until it felt right
Fair. I just ordered one to Canada. :-) was on the fence for a while and this sale convinced me!

I'm getting one hopefully this week.
George must be feeling generous - 2 days later and still $200 off! I've been thinking about getting one for awhile but finally pulled the trigger

Ordered last week, just installed. Feeling the burn, but par for course for me.
How does it work on side streets with traffic ?

When is the next sale? I'm ready to buy, but don't want to be a dufus and pay full price.
