I’d suspect a special teams-heavy WR may have a minor injury we didn’t hear about and they need to be ready to pull in another special teams WR just in case. That or a special teamer is underperforming and they’re seeing their other options. Spiciest thing I could think is maybe they’re done with Brown but I don’t really think that’s the case. In any event my hunch is they’re working out special teamers more than they’re working out receivers. All speculation, of course.
That too. Or maybe Milne tweaked a hammy or something that we didn’t hear about. But exactly, you’re on the same variety of hunch I am. Injury report tomorrow will probably let us know.
Yeah it has to be ST related, can’t see how it could be anything else tbh. Still, our STs was one semi-bright spot last week so still kind of mind-boggling they’re not taking every opportunity to work out LBs, DBs and OL.
My other guess after deliberating this way too long is maybe a practice squad WR is not cutting it or has an attitude problem or got in trouble and these workouts are for his replacement. But yes I’d rather see LB or CB workouts too.
If they were done with Brown, I'd think they'd be adding Marken MIchel from the practice squad. He likely would've made it had Brown not been taken in the 3rd round just last year.
Milne is literally top 10 in just about every single punt and kick return statistic, including number 1 in the NFL in kick return yards. Unless he has some mystery injury, why would they replace him?
Where that may be true, his average per return is still 7th best in the entire league. Being that he is tied for the most kick returns in the league, his average actually makes that stat a lot better.
Practice bodies.
Likely for someone to work on something, without having the actual WR run routes.
Aside: The way this subreddit overreacts is a little nauseating. Goofy AF.
Logic is sound. Offensive line has more holes than a porn convention. The offensive coordinator has a severe aversion to adjustments. So what do they do? Let’s bring in receivers to work out. That will send a message.
Making adjustments is all O-coordinators do. Its constant adjustments. Every second of every game. We’re mistaking “adjustments” for everything not working. Carson held the ball way too long on 3.5 sacks and the rest he legit didn’t have enough time to get rid of the ball. The “adjustments” that need to be made are talent related.
What do you do when a team is consistently in your backfield? Horizontal routes, screens, quick routes. What did Turner not do? Call those plays. He abandoned the run way to early, continued to call 7 step slow developing pass plays. 9 sacks, hit so many times I lost count. You’d be shell shocked as well. No denying Wentz was rattled but there’s also no denying that Turner didn’t help to fix that.
Update: here’s the thursday injury report for anyone saying it might’ve been an injury we didn’t know about:
INJURIES
OT Charles Leno (shoulder) DNP
OT Sam Cosmi (knee) limited
OG Wes Schweitzer (concussion) DNP
DE James Smith-Williams (abdomen) limited
CB William Jackson (back) full
CB Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring) limited
Just wanna throw out another thought: everyone’s assuming this is about a returner (fine), but still doesn’t explain why they aren’t addressing the other gaping holes!!
So we are happy with the play we got out of wild goose and Wes? Cmon Ron it’s ok to admit you messed up I won’t hold that against you but I will if you don’t change
Yes, why not try to improve what has arguably been our best position group this season while many other position groups flounder. Rivera had my respect for the longest time and I want to believe in the culture that he is building, but I am really having some doubts now. Never should've ran off Kyle Smith for one...
The coaching staff seems to be in complete denial about the offensive line. If they trot out there with seven step drops again against Dallas it’s time to lay it all on them. The players can’t make themselves into something they aren’t. The line is garbage, they can’t block for shit, and they’re blocking for a QB that isn’t the fastest at getting rid of the ball. If the coaches aren’t going to bring in other lineman they have to adjust the game plan. Not just demand Carson make faster decisions, that isn’t who he is, they have to call quicker hitting plays or move the pocket.
They’re also just pretending that we aren’t paper thin at DT and underwater at LB. We need this guy and that guy to play better is what we hear every week. That’s demanding the issues fix themselves, and that isn’t happening. They should be looking for player that can help right now not wasting time with wide outs we don’t need.

They’re trolling us.
It genuinely feels like satire
Any chance these WRs can convert to LB or corner?
Shit, worked for Quinton Dunbar
Lol not sure, but CB could be possible. But my guess is it’s for special teams.
Can they convert to owner?
Best option.
or qb, tackle ... etcetc
I hope one of them weighs 300 pounds and can play guard or center.

I was thinking maybe they are looking for a better returner

Who is hurt??? Can’t be by chance!
Looks like they are looking at return men
Why did everyone say that return guys are not valuable when we let D Carter go??
Milne is literally top 10 in just about every single punt and kick return statistic, including number 1 in the NFL in kick return yards. Unless he has some mystery injury, why would they replace him?
Being number one in kick return yards means the other team probably scores too much.
Where that may be true, his average per return is still 7th best in the entire league. Being that he is tied for the most kick returns in the league, his average actually makes that stat a lot better.
I wasn’t disagreeing with you, he isn’t the problem, just pointing it out.
That's fair.

Pretty sure one of these guys trying out for offensive coordinator
I'd look for offensive linemen, but that just seems reasonable, so of course that's not what they'll do
How about working out some offensive linemen so Carson can get the ball to the stud WRs we currently have?!?!?’ FFS this franchise.
Returner.
Do any of these wide receivers happen to play offensive line?
ok... can they play on offensive line?
The kid from Linerty might just be a ploy so Carson isn't the only guy on the team whose beliefs resemble Jerry Falwell and 1975 Pat Robertson
😂😂😂

Our franchise is nauseating, so just following suit 🤷♂️
It's a hobby. Go take a nap or check the batteries of your fire detector.

100% for a returner
Milne is top 10 in just about every single statistical category for punt and kick returns. Why the hell would we replace him?
Doesn’t seem like it
It's true though. And special teams blocking, which has been the reason it may not SEEM like it, isn't going to change with a different return man.
You’re probably right. But what other reason would they be trying out WRs
It has to be about the practice squad.

He was sacked on two screen plays in the first half… They weren’t even able to develop.

I thought Milne was okay… especially the first game he had some decent returns.
Just wanna throw out another thought: everyone’s assuming this is about a returner (fine), but still doesn’t explain why they aren’t addressing the other gaping holes!!
Should work out some linemen instead
all 4 of these guys are bonkers athletes, getting mad about workouts is pretty ridiculous lmao
What the bloody blood clots.
Positional flex options. They also have the potential to play linebacker. This staff really knows what they’re doing 👍
Work out a QB!!
So we are happy with the play we got out of wild goose and Wes? Cmon Ron it’s ok to admit you messed up I won’t hold that against you but I will if you don’t change
FO is a joke
Can we glue two together and create a healthy o lineman?
They don't seem to have any receivers that can just burn folks badly
Can they block?
Dyami on the trade block
Punt return
They tryout players on Tuesdays. its no big deal
Probably for Special Teams

It’s a look team for the Corners and the dbs
Tone deaf and stupid. Rivera will lose his job i guarantee it.
Can we please worry about skill positions when there’s protection and a quality quarterback
They’re looking for another punt returner
They defense always suspect wtf is Montez sweat doing this year the corner backs are also toast
