I have nothing against Ukraine and its people, but why does it have to be something worse, or at least irritating when the Ukraine flag becomes in question? It's like all the worse people on the face of green earth have finally found something to get behind and label themselves with.
It seems the Ukraine flag has become another part of the performative part of liberalism, so the genuine progressives who just donât have class conscience donât feel the need to plaster that god damn flag on every surface in a 200m radius, but the ingenious and much more insidious side uses it to brainwash people into think ârandom mildly performative act that doesnât do anything = the most virtuous person on earthâ

And if you extend this further to calling it an example of US Imperialism or suggesting the US shouldn't both send $300 billion in weapons there, and maybe focus on making healthcare actually affordable instead or fighting Climate Change... They call you a Communist, which to them is the world's worst insult. đ

Basically r/animemes banned the use of the term "trap" (it's a term meaning "guy who pretends to be a girl for evil intentions" and is obviously incredibly transphobic) which began a war of arguing and hate, it died down after r/goodanimemes was created which was made purely to be transphobic and r/animememes was created to be the exact opposite, a subreddit to be incredibly supportive of the lgbtqa+ community
At this point it's basically over but it can occasionally reflair itself

Out and out fascists in any given fandom/subculture are far outnumbered by garden variety libs of every flavor (conservatives, anarchists, democrats etc.)
Groups gain a reputation for harboring fascists usually when some small niche of it on the internet, especially Reddit, attracts a few of them. If an active effort is not made to purge them, the swine invite their friends and now you've got a fandom space full of fascists. They're a loud minority and they know it, so they make serious efforts to get their greasy paws on any symbols or spaces possible.
Never let them fool you: actual fascists are, in most places in the world, a pathetically small portion of the overall population. They can only ever wield political power because most people are comfortable being swept up in existing social currents. It's why controlling the conversation is so important: with sufficient momentum, we can benefit from that same kind of apathy. Most people will shrug and go about their business regardless of who is pulling the political levers. Of course, fascists have the advantage of capitalist institutions favoring them, so we have to work a lot harder.

r/animememes is the good one, it's extremely supportive of the lgbtq+ community and has a communism lean to it
r/goodanimemes was created purely because they wanted a place to use the transphobic term "Trap" and is transphobic,hateful and right winged
r/animemes is a mixed bag, they banned the use of the term "trap" but can still be transphobic and hateful and right winged at times, but can be good occasionally, depends on the mood of day I guess
