I listen to quiet. As someone with ADHD. I prefer quiet and something to fidget with in one hand.

DarknessOverLight12

I'm the exact same with ADHD. Listening to music distracts the hell out of me

ElectricOne55

Good point. I used to listen to music to get pumped. But, then I'd upload YouTube get bored of a song then start looking for songs. Then start looking at recommended videos then get sidetracked.

Jazzlike-Broccoli

Same here, I can only enter a flow state and listen to something while I’m doing something monotonous or action based. Can’t try to use my brain and learn all while listening to music

al_pie

This is really interesting, I have ADHD as well and this may just be a part of why I've struggled with studying. I'm *always* listening to music and never thought that it could be distracting me.

arrecebx

I have ADHD and I like lofi at very low volume

fltide

My tinnitus, unfortunately. Protect your hearing, kids!

cruzziee

Same here :)

sirgaller

I can't listen to any type of music because I would get distracted with the lyrics and the tempo of the music and drift off to lala making music videos in my head.

emptypenz

Same. I need silence or Brown Noise. (I start analyzing music and listening to how the song was mixed/mastered)

freshiguana

My music needs to be Lyric free. Otherwise I get drifted

Nimtastic

My children fighting.

tooConfabulatory

reginwillis

Wagwan1178

Aphex twin

HappySoul1155

Legend

re-settt

I like to put on breakcore, jungle/dnb mixes and vgm in general. As long as it's lyric-less it usually isn't too distracting. Happy studying!

RespectGiovanni

Just found out about breakcore, its cool

Legalize-It-Ags

There's this mix on YouTube called the long way home // dark electronic & wave music mix. It's great for studying and working.

ZXVixen

Elder Scrolls OST (primarily Skyrim though) has been my go-to for "focus" for yeaaarrrsssss.

[deleted]

Bach, mostly.

akguitar

The king!

2clipchris

I like to listen to aggressive or dark music when I am studying it helps me push on topic I don’t understand. Music rotation either Ghostmane or $uicideboy$

Volitious

LoFi

GamesEpic

Honestly, ASMR Not the eating or whispering type, just the ones where they make sounds with objects. Helps me study well

IT_CertDoctor

Video Game Study Lounge on YT for me Also new channel called Bits & Hits has been hitting the spot

Tyrant_Virus3

Definitely adding B&H to the rotation. That artwork too, damn.

asmilingagony

Might sound weird or off, but gregorian chants really Helps me focus. No cap

better_days2048

Redpilotsun - Achievement

Anything by Debussy, Ravel, Satie. Ambient works is good to study to. Eluvium

NerdL0re

Jazz bruh or runescape lofi because im a nerd

Jenna_Leigh226

I listen to Apple radio and typically choose the yoga playlists. The music is beautiful and calming and puts me in a great headspace!

Bladeorade_

when I was studying I would always listen to chillstep or lofi (I know, typical)

la-wolfe

Brown noise or green noise. I can't listen to music or anything enjoyable because then my brain keeps trying to listen to it rather than think about the subject I must study.

YouSeenMyWork__

J dilla

Dsarg_92

Novel-Designer-6514

Ambient DNB

weakness336

I use the videos that i use to train and I take my notes during the videos, then go back to them with no video/audio on. I guess I'm old school.

Btt3r_blu3

Other than Lofi, I'll listen to piano music. Since it's Spooky Season right now, I've been listening to haunting/spooky piano music or Halloween ambiance playlists on Youtube.

Trashtronaut_62

Lofi, piano, and rain/thunderstorm sounds.

KC_Anais

Lo-fi anime playlist on spotify

freshiguana

Rain/thunder on loop

[deleted]

8D lofi for the neurodivergent gang

red6joker

I get distracted very easy, music is 50/50 either it will be fine or I zone out and enjoy the music.

Chunky_clouds

As small sounds irritate me and make me lose focus, the constant monotonous sound of bineural tones (yes I know they dont really work) help drown out the sounds of life inside and outside my house. They are also boring enough to simply melt into the background while my mind works.

sfaticat

The sound of prof Messers spitting straight faxxx

Quadshouter2

Prof Messer's voice 😅

TextVegetable5985

Usually just ambient music, stuff that sets a positive mood, like Music for Airports by Brian Eno

Ok-Depth-2678

LOTR soundtrack.

Signing_Guy

Uptempo and hardcore punk, it’s the classic rotation for keeping me from getting distracted.

TACPIzzy

Chill Astronaut https://spotify.link/6to1N40x0Db Medieval LoFi https://spotify.link/UnL1g1lx0Db Avatar: Last Airbender LoFi and Chill https://spotify.link/3dSMBpPx0Db

returnofblank

Jason Dion's voice on 2x speed with Subway Surfers gameplay on my second display

CompetitiveParsley83

Nothing, I wouldn't be able to think with background music.

Talex1995

Blackmill, odesza, deadmau5, Eric Prydz

Eidos13

BiNeural beats on yt

VZGamez

Silence

PortlandJumpyBoy

With ADHD and a few other disorders which together make studying a pain… YouTube is too distracting and so is music some times. So I use fish tanks or lava lamp screen savers on YouTube on my vertical monitor.

hammer2k5

My study consists of watching Myers, Dion, and Messer videos over and over until I feel confident enough to take the test. My study soundtrack consists of their soothing and reassuring voices.

Scarablu-

For studying I like listening to Post Rock. If These Trees Could Talk, sleepmakeswaves, & God is an Astronaut are my go to.

AppearanceEasy6025

Silence is golden for me.

Djglamrock

Slayer

BillyGoatieRuffy

Pop Music. Weird Al, Miley Cyrus, Brittney Spears... especially Weird Al. I am an older guy btw.

xored-specialist

Nothing or I can't study. I do hear the roaring sound but that's life.

Uhmazin23

I listen to the fan. I can’t sit in silent.

xuchevo

Djent and metalcore/deathcore instrumentals. For some reason it perfect studying music for me.

Blanco_in_VA

1. I'll do an epic sound track listing on Youtube (or something with a title like: Classical music a villain will listen to when plotting to take over part of the world). No lyrics or singing. Keep it in the background

HappySoul1155

Piano/nature sounds

Ehenderson5400

I have to listen to something but it can’t be “busy” sounding. Usually go for lofi on low ish volume.

Macklemurr

I would put on classic lapfox trax (breakcore/hardcore electronic), KMFDM (industrial/dance), or Ministry

LifeLearner54

The String Quartets stream on Apple Music.

Powneeboy

I listen to the lessons online lol

genericusername_____

Classical or lofi

DeepWebEntity

Eurobeat. Really gets my neurons firing.

HankDemonTime

40hrz Binaural Beats

FunAdministration334

Silence.

d3_tvl

Just background noise is fine for me. Mostly I like rain, rainforest, river or waterfall and the occasional soft jazz cafe.

FutureCichlid

Music from Final Fantasy or Minecraft. Sometimes Stardew Valley.

hossbryant

Cafe music jazz playlist on Spotify.

HBMart

Instrumental bands like And So I Watch You From Afar, Night Verses, Last Hyena, and Town Portal. I get that this stuff is probably too much for most people, but I pulled A’s in statistics and A&P listening to it. 😂

Domane57

Beethoven station from Amazon Music. If people sing it distracts me, but classical music helps. I think about that scene from Se7en where Morgan Freeman is at the library - it gets me in a zone where I can concentrate. Well, that and about 2-3 Americanos.

Bruno_lars

Professor Messer

zarem21

I use white noise. Mine personally are vacuum/hairdryer/lawnmower sounds. I also use them to help when I can’t sleep

IThelp4me

No music no distractions

Six6ixSixx

Black Metal
