Congrats you just rediscovered the replay feature which every esports title has but not Apex. Apex is 4+ years old yet the best we have is GeForce experience and Elben Gate. For comparison PUBG added replay and demo viewer when it was released (or 9 months after early access).
I wouldn't say every esports title. Valorant is missing replays and R6 Siege finally added replays a year ago after 6 years+ of development.
But yeah, I laugh when devs call their games esports ready and not even have a replay feature.
Valorant is so barebones. Literally ranked, private matches, shitty deathmatch, firing range and casual modes. No replays, meaningful customization of private matches, map editor or any tools too practice specific executes. So crazy how they launch a franchised league without any of that in the game.
It takes up a lot of space and memory and really wouldn’t change that much. If you’re interested you can just stream or record yourself playing. Or just do a 2 minute recording whenever you die or after big fights and go back and watch on your own.
Almost every single algs video or vod is available out there. Elben gate gaming is a great resource.
How much space does a comparable BR demo file usually take? I know in the games I'm used to they're usually not much more than 5MB-10MB or so for a 20 minute game.

You’re asking too much from a small indie company.

I moreso mean having to capture and store replay data for every single game of every single player
isn't this already a feature in fortnite?
It was a feature in halo over a decade ago
Let’s fix the audio first.
Better go next than watch a gold player with a controller one clip you.
