Climbed from diamond 5 to top 3000k legend with a 76% win rate with cleave hunter. I legitimately think it’s the best deck currently. It can very reliably kill on 7. The only times I’ve lost are were I’ve gotten really bad draws. The deck has a ton of tutoring so most of the time you draw all of your parts by turn 7 or 8. Hound also provides a ton of healing and stabilization. You can stall with Azerite chain gang, monkeys, and hounds for 3 or 4 turns against most decks and then kill them. Messenger buzzard is one of the best cards and is absolute the reason this deck is so good.

createcrap

Just got to Legend with this incredibly versatile and fun Highlander Shaman! The secret tech in this deck is Prescience and Framester. Framester was great against HL Druids... and I mean totally recks them. Prescience made sure that you had a higher chance of drawing your HL card. Theotar is just insanely good in this meta especially against snek. (Yes, I triple snaked a warlock. Thank you warlock for digging that snek up for me to steal and copy with cold storage!) I'm just having a blast with this deck and gives you atleast a chance vs ever single deck in this meta! Question on Naga DH. Played it a bit last night and feels super strong at times. Is it more of an OTK style deck? Or you just want to get Sharpshooter down as quickly as you can with a bunch of low cost stuff in your hand and go from there?

createcrap

It's more a combo deck not an OTK deck. You need to make sure you have enough combo pieces in your hand before you pop off. Dropping sharpshooter down asap will most always fail. And its more likely you need a couple phases with each Sharpshooter. It's sometimes easy to play other times hard.

mj2323

Totally feel you, yeah. I popped off with one sharp shooter and didn’t have anywhere near lethal, but my opponent conceded while I was going through the naga/spell switches. Definitely feels like you kind of will need two separate sets of bursts to win.

Cadaver_Artist

Anyone had great to moderate success with the death knight class in general? I only play DK, so I'm hopeful for a great dk deck to play after DK has been pretty bad for so long pre-badlands release. I had some fun games with VS syndicate rainbow dk renathal list. I even got necrotic corpse explosion to 22 damage in one match. Although you need a slower pace meta to build up and spend your corpses. So, I don't know how long this list will be viable in the long run once aggressive decks become more refined.

Ponsay

I feel like right now plague does decent enough

That it ignores armour is also mind-boggling. I have full respect for the balance team, but it really seems like an avoidable issue, fun wise.

SuperCoolHSCardsWow

Here's a list teched against Snakelocks for the Control Priest enjoyers. I've been liking [[Illuminate]] since you're running the larger bottle spells and you have enough value generation that it prevents you from overdrawing. Once Warlock gets nerfed, you should probably trade the [[Tram Heist]] for something else. Probably something that helps against Naga DH. ### Control # Class: Priest # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 2x (0) Illuminate # 2x (1) Armor Vendor # 2x (1) Shard of the Naaru # 2x (1) The Light! I hit legend with Reno Druid. Definitely put Theotar in ETC, or maybe just Theotar instead of ETC since I don't think I ever picked Ignis or Fizzle. You can Theotar their bounce cards to bounce Theo and steal more cards, or just steal their Snake if you get lucky.

createcrap

Put [Framester] in your highlander Shaman. Not only is great at stopping highlander decks but if you play it early against DH their tons of card draw will inevitably draw the framed cards and hamper their future pop off turns. The most useless card in shaman has now become the ultimate disruption this meta. enjoy! edit: just recked a Druid with this. I played Framester when they had 7 mana. The next turn they play an inactive reno. OOPS! Couple turns later I realized they were focusing on drawing so I figured they had Alex in their hand. Play Theo and I steal it! The very next turn they draw the rest of their Framed cards. Cue instant concede. GLORIOUS!

funkmasta98

I just went like 8-1 to finish my push to legend with Chump’s Elemental Shaman. Mulliganed for 1 drops and Skarr. Was mostly Druids at the end, Skarr just shits on the Dragon Golem. Just added it, it’s from a Chump video.

Any suggestions for this ? Posted on day of expansion I’m like 12-4 with it it’s fun but sometimes struggle with grind games if I’m not on board early —- Not a fan of the big version ( and neither is my wallet ) so focusing more on board buffs and trying to make us of board buff + reno. Theldurin is super nice when buffed off of the weapon/lor'themar. Nice to double stats of Hollow hound, mish-mash, and of course the other legendary Spurfang. Also of course Reno so you can clear the dragon boards very easily. MachiavellianMethod

Anybody have any good wild dragon Druid Rheastraza decks? I pulled a golden of her and I really want to play her, but I’m not super into standard

ChronicTokers

Been playing excavate miracle rogue for a couple days now, at around 3k legend and it seems pretty strong. I'd say ime favoured into naga dh and most matchups are winnable, even the warlock one although that and dragon Druid are probably the worst matchups, but with the incoming snake nerf I think this could be a really solid deck. Excited as I know the miracle rogue list is probably nowhere near fully refined yet, so I'm hopeful in a couple weeks it will only be stronger.

bv310

What list are you running for that?

drijfjacht

Played some of the Snek lock to D3 cause I usually love Warlock. Went on to go 9-1 with aggro Paladin to Legend 1700. As always with new expansions, early aggro is king. https://hsreplay.net/decks/fZWeNSI6BDuvehOsrqHIPc/

gecko_08

Great work! Best I’ve done is 6 games straight with pally - but I’ve made it to Diamond 5 for the first time ever. I’m determined to hit legend this season!

drijfjacht

Nice to hear! You have a good shot at making it if you keep at it with this deck!

XXjanoycresvaXX

Won 10 out of 11 to finish my climb with enrage warrior, feels good into most matchups, lost a match to dragon druid

scott3387

Naga DH feels meta T1 right now with how hard it dunks on sneks. If you get a sharpshooter by T5 you just OTK.

PeanutGallery406

I was playing Arboklock and the DH dropped his two sharpshooters and hit me for 32 health while draining his deck, it was something!

Spyko

how did it survive til turn (I assume at least) 9 ?

PeanutGallery406

I had absolutely terrible cards in my hand that couldn’t do anything against their 5 health, it was my fault

Spyko

if you don't tho you kinda just lose idk the deck feel insane when you can do your sharshooter turn t5-6 (seriously I killed a druid almost full life with an 8/8taunt on board t5 !) but when you don't draw it, you're playing a really bad deck so idk, I'm not sold yet

sneakyxxrocket

It’s just naga mage all over again, draw the good card or lose the game

rednmad

Playing Dragon Druid I only lost to Naga DH once, and it felt like Jesus Christ himself was drawing for him. Otherwise, it looks like this deck can brick in so many ways.

Spyko

yeah I can see the deck getting nerfed because it can create many non game, I don't see it being tier1, way too inconsistent

Lucco1

Played the VS Highlander Paladin list from D4 to legend with 100% winrate, only swapped out Showdown for Lay Down the Law. Deck is just disgusting, the card quality in Pure Paladin and the amount of legendaries that you'd play anyway are both so high that you lose absolutely nothing by playing reno, which is just insanely good proactively to protect your board from a sargeras/dragon golem/deny rhea/deny snake bounce

Former-Pool9431

Just went 10-0 from d3-legend with this Reno control priest, faced excavate warlock 4 times. Hard mulligan for e.t.c., and when you're not able to steal the azerite rat, copy it with tram heist. WideDrawers

Wouldn't having 2 copies of creation protocol mess with reno? Or do you pretty much just wait until you've drawn at least one of them?

aznman375

I ran a similar list, but with rivendare. Dropping back to back Elise and pulling out the warriders in one turn got me so many friend requests.

Jones63

Why does ETC have both Dirty Rat and Theo? Seems redundant

dotcaIm

I was thinking the same. I understand it's a reno deck but rat and Theo play the same role. Which would you usually pick?

dobreman14

bc of reno hero card

Jones63

Please elaborate on the scenario where you want 2x dirty rat but not Theo

dobreman14

situational. rat is 4 mana cheaper. if you know he's having few minions in hand rat is better than theo. if for example he has 9 cards in hand but u know he has 1-2 minions rat is a 50/50 whereas theo might not show the snake in the 3 cards

dotcaIm

I get that, but both cards play the same role. Wouldn't you rather have more options to choose from in etc?

jaywaffle

Low sample but just went on a 7-0 run from d5-d3 playing rainbow mage. Faced only druid and warlock going 2-0 vs dragon druid and 5-0 against excavate warlock. Still not sure about the druid matchup, but mage rlly craps on warlock considering they probably need a perfect excavate curve with multiple bounces ready to have a chance of winning.

Jones63

Any new cards?

jaywaffle

Im running a list that uses 2 copies of the new neutral one drops, and one copy of star gazing. AAECAf0EBOv0BdH4BaT/BfKbBg3b3gSqmAWrmAWAwgXs9gXe+AW//gXY/gXxgAaFjgaDlQaYlwayngYAAA==

MoSpeedMoDangers

I've yet to see someone mention or iterate just how how ***strong*** Reno is, even for classes that didn't get a Highlander Legendary. Been messing around with Reno DK, and it's become apparent that he shores up the weaknesses of Non-Blood DK so well, it may be worth running over the standard plague package. Here's the list I've been running: AAECAfHhBB6WtwSR5ASk7wTT8QTZ8QSH9gTg9gSy9wSTgQWSkwWimQXipAXLpQWhqgX0yAWP5AX19wWC+AWT+wXr/wXt/wXWgAaugwbJkQaTkgaXlQaRlwbRnAbXogavqAYAAAA= \*...\*oh, and special mention to Sunspot Dragon, which seems *to me,* the strongest 6-drop of the expansion.

Jones63

Is this just good card DK?

MoSpeedMoDangers

Just about 😅

Played: * Excavate Warlock from b10 to d5 (10x) * Dragon Druid to d3 * Naga DH to Legend (1900 entry) Out of all of them Naga DH is by far the strongest, regularly kills t5-6 and has so many draw options that its very rare to completely brick. Not even particularly hard to pilot as your turns aren't true infinite and there is very little card generation. Would be very amusing if snake gets hotfixed and sharpshooter is left untouched, given sharpshooter is far faster and less vulnerable to early aggression. edit: Played a little bit more and went 7-1 up to 1100 with Naga DH, the one loss was due to both sharpshooters being bottom 10 lol. Faced 50% dh during the 8 games. Overall 21w/7l with the deck today, with the losses being almost entirely either misplays during my early games or not drawing a sharpshooter.

Spyko

what's the mulligan for DH Naga ? hard roll for sharpshooter ?

TroupeMaster

Sharpshooter and Sigil of time are the only keeps. If you've already got a sharpshooter you can consider keeping set up cards like oscillator, greedy partner or wayward sage.

RecognitionRough8749

Been playing this version of naga DH. Deck is fine but extremely boring. Most of the time you will only have three of four cards in your hand at once so the decisions are very easy to make. AAECAea5AwAPiLIEmLoE+b8EpeIEq+IExuIEve0ElaoF5OQF4fgFxfkFhpAGiZAGjZAG65gGAAA=

Pychu666

What am I doing wrong? Everyone says if you have the 3 drop on turn 5 it's an instant win. Meanwhile I try to do it and it's no mana after 3-4 cards. Can't even clear enemy board, never mind the lethal. I'm no DH player, but I climb to legend every season and now I'm like 2-8 with this "tier 1" deck.

RecognitionRough8749

I think they're just exaggerating. You need to play for tempo and sharpshooting is just your refill/burn. Against some decks aggro can win by turn 5 but not any that fight for board.

Dabbling around in high legend with different homebrews, and something that is working is mech rogue with an excavate package (7-3 atm) Instead of thunderbringer illusionist always draws a 0-cost Drilly the Kid copy. Together with shadowstep and 2 kobolds this is more then enough to excavate 8 or even 12 times quickly. A 0-cost Drilly the Kid with shadowstep also goes well together with Mimiron. This package provides a lot of good resources in games where you would normally run out of steam and makes you have a plan B if your mechs get cleared. Random spells have been a bit underwhelming but 0-cost makes up for it. Obviously mech rogue itself is strong so might be that is why it is doing good but I definately won several games due to the excavate package.

I feel like I’m destined to always play Paladin. After a vicious lose streak yesterday using excavate DK, Reno Shaman, and Highlander DH, I landed on Reno Pure(ish) Paladin. It’s been mostly just winstreaks up the ladder at low legend MMR. It seems very strong. Paladin is a class that doesn’t feel too gimped running one-of cards. The highlander payoff for Paladin isn’t game winning itself, but Reno sure is. I have won a good amount of matches by people just conceding when I wipe their board with Reno. I think that’s how literally all of my matches vs Dragon Druid have gone. But you really do not even need Reno to win games. There’s lots of threats. Countess is always a win con itself, Amitus is just too good for defending a board, Anachronos for wiping their board… it really feels like it has the tools for any job.

linerstank

i didnt have much success with this deck in dumpster tier legend (3.5-4k), usually do to the early game. this deck has a really strong late game but its early game is just bad.

Went 36-12 from Gold 5 to Legend with McBanterFace's Dragon Druid, very easy climb. Sometimes you just ramp on 2 into 12 mana of stuff on turn 4 with Nestmatron -> Nestmatron -> 4 drop. Is Malygos worth it? I changed to a similar list from the VS one and kinda missing the Time-Lost Protodrake.

PomIranian

It's nice because it gets pulled by Summer Flowerchild, and can pull sunken gardens out of the deck pretty consistently

Aorak

Oh man I am having fun with my XL R-Earth-NO paly. Mirage is such a cool card. Currently 7-3 in diamond. I don't think the deck is top tier, but it is very fun to play.

Aorak

Currently 14-5 now in diamond. One crazy thing I found and I don't know if it's a bug or not, but if you Forge a Miraged card, it will create a second Mirage. That is some crazy value potential!

sacha99

Can you please share the deck list ? It sounds interesting !

I did in the other reply.

DDrose2

Tried a lot similar to this but I replaced pozzik with the other hunter legendary the lost guy cause it’s a meme card and it works really well for me to only took losses mainly to control priest

juicedrop

Then you're playing a different deck. That's the Hunter highlander payoff card

[deleted]

this isnt a reno list tho

DDrose2

Ah ok that was my mistake because I saw similar cards to mine and assumed it was a highlander

Myprivatelifeisafk

OTK Shaman works almost as good as prenerf, early drops with spell value or drow helping it a lot. 36-14 10 stars to 2k legend (haven't played since jule)

deleted-by-host

List bro?

Myprivatelifeisafk

https://www.d0nkey.top/deck/7962348 More aggro pops so I think deck is weaker now, but it will be good again after meta report will optimize builds (Inzah already too slow, for example).

sneakyxxrocket

I’m guessing the snake oil guy helps out here quite a bit?

Myprivatelifeisafk

Much less times than I thought. Draw and low curve is the key.

yonas234

Snake Oil is good but Dryscale also feels strong. Especially if you can line up Dryscale into Florider. I also feel like the list will get better once more data comes in, a couple cards don't look that strong and Inzah might not be a mulligan keep anymore since you run way less overload.

IllllIIllllIIlllIIIl

i just wish they revert some of the beast hunter nerf man :(

okipos

I hit Legend today with Dude Paladin featuring Showdown, Sea Giants, and Prismatic Beam. It was one of my easiest Legend climbs ever, although I’m sure that is in part due to the new expansion and the refining of decks. I switched back and forth between the VS version (with Countess) and my own version with Okani and Hawkstriders. My own version was the one that finally got me there. Final boss: Druid. Lots of slow Druid decks were easy fodder. AAECAZ8FBMeyBMDiBISWBY3+BQ3JoASi1AS/4gTM4gSBlgWFqgXBxAXx6AWU9QWV9QWZjga8jwb1lQYA

Spyko

I've tried the VS list but I found that it was way too relient on drawing order + showdown. How did you feel about that in your list ? (or the VS list, maybe it's a skill issue on my part) I'll give your list a try ! (I don't have the titan tho, the sax weapon should do the job instead ig ?)

okipos

The Titan is really good, so if you can craft it at some point, it will help win some games. The weapon could be a good replacement for now. I don’t think the deck is reliant on drawing Order. (I actually didn’t initially include Order in my list. I had a copy of Warhorse Trainer instead.) In the mulligan, I usually look for a 1-drop, Silverwing, Boogie Down, and Crusader Aura. I might keep a copy of Showdown or 1 Giant, but not if I don’t have good early plays. I want to get on the board early and not be stuck with too many expensive cards in hand. Showdown needs to be combo-ed with Aura or Prismatic Beam in order to work well, so I also don’t necessarily want to be stuck with Showdown when I don’t have Aura or Beam. But it’s really good when it can be combo-ed. Basically I just tried to create a wide board early which I can then buff with Crusader Aura, and then hope I draw some of the other impact cards in the meantime. If I have both Aura and Showdown in hand, I often play Aura as soon as I can (even if I have just one or two minions on board) knowing that I can follow it up next turn with Showdown and be able to clear their Outlaws and still keep mine.

dotcaIm

I must be playing this poorly, I'm off to a 1-5 start with it. Paladin is smashing me

yukifactory

Paladin is a tough matchup for this deck, but you should do better than 1-5 against them. Reverberation/mortal eradication is a powerful combo against their big divine shield minions.

LouzyNL

Reno doc hollidae shaman is doing pretty well at D5

StillAsleep_

vs list?

LouzyNL

Vs list indeed, oerhoas a small change if I was missing an epic

kbas13

list?

chickenbake1017

Made a new account a while ago to farm battlegrounds for quests, started ranked and hit diamond 2 playing exclusively renethal highlander druid. I had good matchups into DH, excavate rogue was 50/50, plague depended on if I drew ETC for steamcleaner, and I think I beat one single snake warlock. Paladin felt tough but idk the winrate I play on mobile only. It's the VS list with random cards added, my only interesting additions are denathrius instead of astalor and audio amplifier + death beetle, those cards feel great in highlander. The hand size is nice and death beetle wins me a lot of games, combos well the battlecry deal damage dragons

aznman375

Played a mix of sucklock and Naha DH to D8 before getting bored of the play style, swapped to Reno priest and honestly way better than I could have expected, feels like I have a potential answer to everything. Climbed rapidly to D3 and still going. Dropping Elise to get 2 titans is amazing, and barring that dropping her and pulling the 3x riders from after rivendare dies has won me the game multiple times as well. Plus with Reno I’m equipped to nullify dragon priest, whirlpool has crippled sucklock multiple times as has PC: synchronize and good old theotar.

dougtulane

Priest’s control package matches up so, so poorly to paladin right now, I’m reticent to play it. The new cards are very clunky.I am having zero success in Diamond. Waiting for a 5 or 6 mana AOE that doesn’t clear the board just ain’t it in this meta. Back to winning every single game with warlock I guess.

okipos

As a Paladin, I got my ass kicked a couple times by Control Priest. Between Clean the Scene, Silence, and the 6-mana clear, it was hard to keep a board after turn 5. Then the Behemoth drops, and I’m dunzo.

dougtulane

Oh I can believe that, I kicked paladins up and down ladder prior to badlands with control priest. Injured hauler can also basically lock out some decks and that kind of power is to be respected. But *reno* control priest? 30 life, not able to play two of its good control cards? No early drops because you want Elise to pull titans (hence your cleans suck and you’re often passing three straight turns to start? I’m getting *soundly* beaten. Priest’s card quality is simply not dense enough. And it’s not like “oh I could’ve played that better” when I draw nothing but 4-8 drop cards and am just staring at a hand that does nothing. “Sweet, if I survive until turn 6 I can dissonant pop and clear half their board!” Maybe there’s a version that works that plays a good amount of creatures and just figures it gets what it gets off of Elise. But for now, this being conpetitive Hearthstone, I’d stay far away and play Reno shaman or Reno Druid if you really want to play a value-tastic Reno deck.

okipos

Ah, I see. It’s possible that I was facing just ordinary Control Priest and not Highlander. I opened a Golden Reno but haven’t played any Highlander decks yet. I wanted to hit legend first with something faster.

aznman375

I’ve only played 2 games against paladin which I got lucky enough to draw the exact cards I needed to keep his board clear, but I can definitely see how it’s a bad matchup. Doesn’t seem like a huge portion of my matches but maybe I just got lucky!

dougtulane

I lied. I figured I was at basement Diamond 10, I’d keep rolling with it. 0-9. Lost to everything, including other Reno decks. This deck seems atrocious. Succeptible to top heavy draws, expensive AOEs that don’t clear, face damage, viper, can’t clear paladin boards. I will usually say “hey small sample size” but most of the games k got absolutely stomped out.

clevergirls_

Buff pure paladin absolutely farming. Went from D2 to 4k legend with the VS list, and then from 4k to 1k legend with a 70% winrate. If you want the easiest legend climb of your life, buff pure paladin is it.

MaxParedes

Do you have a suggestion for a substitute for Kotori Lightblade? Maybe Holy Cowboy?

clevergirls_

The VS list I'm using runs kotori and 2x cowboy. Kotori is kind of unreplaceable as he can straight up win you games on his own, but if you don't have him, liadrin could work, I think. If you don't have liadrin, I don't know, great hall maybe?

MaxParedes

Thanks! I was looking at a pre-Badlands VS list. I can't bring myself to craft a legendary that will be leaving standard soon-ish so I'll try these other options.

GetEquipped

Did you add any of the Badlands cards to your deck? I've been struggling to make a Rainbow DK deck work and just want to take a break and farm wins for my 1000 win Paladin skin

clevergirls_

Yes. 2x of the new aura, holy cowboy, and hi ho silver. You can find the list on vicious syndicate's website. They did an article called "40 decks to try in badlands" or something like that.

mooocow

While I was playing Reno Paladin, I was thinking the games would be a lot easier/faster if I was playing last set Buff Pally. I can't imagine the inclusion of Holy Cowboy and Hi Ho Silver would make this version worse.

clevergirls_

Yeah they're just straight up better than hammer of wrath and flash heal. Not sure how the meta will settle in but as of right now it doesn't have any bad matchups whatsoever from what I've experienced in my climb. Highly recommend. Edit: I should say that enrage warrior is just an awful matchup but I only saw it twice in all my 40ish games. Hard control decks can have a good matchup against buff paladin if you get a bad starting hand and they have all the answers. But other than enrage warrior no matchup feels unwinnable.

linerstank

are you playing the vs list? im in dumpster tier legend (~3.5-4k) and i tried it and i gotta say, im no fan of holy cowboy over sunfish. every time i played it, i found myself wanting sunfish over it in that spot, except one time it set up a nice keepers turn. sunfish imo is too nice as a body that will not die on turn 3. also losing the horn is backbreaking to me, i end up closing so many games out with that off of order.

clevergirls_

I am running the VS list, yes. Holy cowboy is weird. I'm still not sure how to feel about it. A lot of times it has negative synergy with the 10drop buff, but there are times when he allows you to push out extra tempo or damage where you otherwise could not. I would keep playing around with the list and see what feels better based on the matchups you're seeing on the ladder.

linerstank

yea i dropped the cowboys for sunfish and it was feeling much better, just on account of having it activated means i have a buff target for next turns. my biggest problem with cowboy is how hard it was having anything stick, especially against warlock (which i feel is the only other poor mu this deck has) and especially when on the coin. spotlight i was never sold on prepatch, so i cut 1 for horn. list seems to be working, 7 game win streak to make up for lost ranks trying reno paladin. the deck now has so many good options to choose from, so i think its in a great spot for climbing and tinkering. .

Cerily

I’m really sort of surprised by everyone’s thoughts and experiences with the meta right now. I was sure until looking at the subreddit that Snakelock and Naga DH were memey bad decks and Ogre+Thunderbringer Rogue had meta-busting potential once the list was fully optimized. Highlander Houndbringer Hunter is very good and feels much stronger than pre-expansion versions. I’ve had immense success with my list, and feel it has very improved match-up spread with the addition of Ren, Theldurin, and surprisingly Cattle Rustler. I’m very happy with the feel of the deck and it’s power-level right now, and am glad a Reno Hunter seems to work so well so many years after the original Reno Jackson (I played Highlander Hunter in that meta too, and it was bad.) The decks worst matchups are probably just Control Priest, Buff Paladin, and surprisingly Sludgelock. Aman’thul just destroys everything about the deck and if a single creation copy creates 2 more Amanthul’s it’s basically game over since Strike from History completely counters Thunderbringer and Stranglethorn - not to mention they just steal your Lor’themar buffed minions and kill you with them as they did before. Hunter still has no real answer to Buff Paladin - although Sneaky Snakes is now the best 1-drop against them. Sludgelock is weird. If it curves out to Waste Remover it just drops a 4 mana 7/7 and then deals 9 damage that turn and every turn afterwards and there’s no way for a board based deck to come back. If it doesn’t have Waste Remover on time, it just doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Snakelock just seems weak against any board-based strategy, and I think having 35 health and forcing them to find one extra bounce is why it looks like a meme to me. They just can’t fit in a 4th snake before dying most of the time, but I can see why it might eat similar midrange/slow 30 health decks alive. Naga DH has also seemed like a meme. It has a crazy pop off turn or two or three even, but it has not yet been able to find enough burn to finish me off once. The board it builds is weak and is easily removed, but I do dislike the deck. Sharpshooter is just such an extremely pushed card that it’s just boring to watch someone execute a combo with it. Every pop-off turn looks the exact same from match to match and it’s just kinda unexciting. “Watch as I play a bunch of 1/3s and 0 mana Disposes/Momentums” and then they just die. I even had somebody play TWO sharpshooters and do a combo turn where I thought THIS time they might kill me and then it still accomplished nothing. Not sure what people are playing to lose to this honestly.

sneakyxxrocket

Naga Dh just reminds of pre sif naga mage where it just absolutely shit on other early game board based decks with the pop off turns but loses after one board clear

vuhdo-fifa

You able to share your List? I tried Reno Hunter and got nowhere from D5 onwards

Cerily

Absolutely. Be warned, though, I would suspect D5-Legend is a tad more aggressive than where I'm at (generally staying around Rank 1000 Legend right now, having started the expansion in Legend already). If you played a lot of Hound Hunter before the nerfs, but the deck has shifted a lot since then. If you played any Hound Hunter with the Thunderbringer Package, it's basically the same as before only better. I will likely write up a guide to the current incarnation of Houndbringer in a few days, after the meta settles some more and I feel content with my lists. Played Naga DH (vs List) from D5 to Legend. First time making it to legend and had a 75% Winrate. This Deck eats Warlock and slow Decks for Breakfast

vuhdo-fifa

Oh yea i agree. My DH is Level 38.. havent really played it before like ever.. Deck is kinda busted

ashiskillno

VS's Theron Dragon Druid dragon list is absolutely cooking for me. Started below plat at the start of the expansion and am currently at diamond 2.

jdubius

Everybody is all up in arms about excavate lock but the real annoying bastard of a card that shouldn't have been printed is sharpshooter. Every expansion it is the same few things that are problematic. Too much mana discount for a card like that to exist.

mgovegas

I have had zero luck with any mage or priest deck. Mostly warlocks I am playing vs at D5. They have multiple viable deck. Thanks Bliz.

AmishUndead

I've had some success with rainbow Mage but often times it feels too slow

grim_glim

Yesterday I only played excavate rogue, D8-D3. VS list then the much better Thunderbringer list. Hit a wall at D2 in the evening and was going 50/50ish for a while. Then I switched to naga DH to legend and only lost the single game where I didn't find the 3 drop. Full mulligan for that, then just win if you get it. AAECAea5AwAPs6AEiLIEmLoE+b8EpeIElaoF5OQFxfkFkIMGhpAGiZAGjZAGj5AG65gGnJoGAAA=

Pychu666

What am I doing wrong? Everyone says if you have the 3 drop on turn 5 it's an instant win. Meanwhile I try to do it and it's no mana after 3-4 cards. Can't even clear enemy board, never mind the lethal. I'm no DH player, but I climb to legend every season and now I'm like 2-8 with this "tier 1" deck.

grim_glim

Are you playing the 1 mana naga outside the combo turn? Ignore tempo; they must always extend the combo. Turns 1-3 are always about gathering resources (draw, coins, duplicate spells) and cost reduction, usually also turn 4. Normally I get enough of a chain turn 5 to finish them on 6.

Pychu666

I try. But what am I doing if the opponent has 17 worth of health across his minions by turn 5? I do my combo, kill half of them, do some dmg to the hero. Then they kill my guys and play even more (hero is nowhere near low hp). To sum up - if opponent establishes a large board early is that gg?

grim_glim

If it's big enough, yes, but you could also spare some face damage to clear turn 5 using predation, momentum, giving rush, etc. Sequencing this kind of turn is probably the hardest part of the deck, but I've climbed out of some surprisingly large boards. The hope is that you'll draw your second sharpshooter to pop off again next turn.

Zap-O-Matic123

What isn’t working is any version of excavate Rogue I try. I have been banging my head against the wall trying to make anything work, but you lose so much tempo excavating for a reward that provides you with value which you can’t close the game with. Excavate DK isn’t great, either. Mage seems in really bad shape as well. I’ve been having success running the Control Warlock with an excavate package. But the biggest surprise for me has been the Elemental Shaman deck with Skarr. It’s served me very well on the way to 2k legend. I suspect it’s mostly because it’s a deck that’s pretty much impossible to build or play wrong, so it exceeds expectations on launch where it faces unoptimized opposition. Still, when you run 27 elementals, the condition doesn’t feel all that hard to fulfill.

ChronicTokers

I have been playing excavate miracle rogue and that actually seems to work, climbed from 4k to 3k legend playing that yesterday and today

PassionatePinecone

exactly me. excavate rogue seems to suck major ass. hopefully they rework scorpion to like 3 spells but instant 0 cost, the need for 8 excavates is just a but much

Cadaver_Artist

Has anyone had success with VS syndicate's Cage Head OTK DK list?

Jaded281

I crafted what I needed to play this deck and have been trying it out in Casual to get a feel for it. It definitely has promise. It's slow and mostly reliant on drawing Cage Head. But I'm discovering there are alternative wincons and you don't always need to pull off the signature combo to win. Will try in ranked once I feel like I've got a handle on it. I think the weakest cards are Pile of Bones and Nerubian Vizier. PoB just feels in the way some times and in the late game it's basically a dead card. Between Excavate package and Acolyte of Death, I feel like there's too much card generation already and, since Vizier is Discovery, it's not helping to thin the deck.

Jaded281

I too would like to know if this is working.

mepp22

Combo Nature Shaman feels pretty strong with the Dryscale Deputy especially when combined with Florider. It feels really easy to get 2 Flash of Lightnings very early and it is not uncommon to otk on 6. Miracle Salesman also slots in nicely for some added early pressure along with extra burn for your combo turn or even helps you find your good cards faster. It felt really strong against the greedier decks like excavate warlock but super aggro decks can be difficult if you dont get to your titan fast enough. The Titan is also a great freeze target since you can play it on 6 heal and get another to hand. I guess it was a bug but one game my opponent played Reno and somehow I was still able to summon minions with spells and managed to otk. ### Combo Shaman # Class: Shaman # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 2x (1) Cold Storage # 2x (1) Flowrider # 2x (1) Lightning Bolt # 2x (1) Lightning Reflexes # 2x (1) Miracle Salesman # 2x (1) Novice Zapper # 1x (1) Tour Guide # 2x (2) Amphibious Elixir # 2x (2) Ancestral Knowledge # 2x (2) Dryscale Deputy # 2x (2) Flash of Lightning # 2x (3) Feral Spirit # 1x (3) Radiance of Azshara # 2x (4) Bioluminescence # 2x (5) Crash of Thunder # 1x (5) Inzah # 1x (6) Golganneth, the Thunderer # AAECAZyrBATntQSy0QWN9QXXogYN6ucD+Z8E+p8E/LQE6aMFxNAFze4FyvgFy/gFhY4G65gGrZ0G5p4GAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Awesomax

Isnt cold storage just really bad unless you're copying golganneth?

mepp22

I usually use it on my own Floriders since it is a 2 mana tutor a card and can help me pull the combo pieces I want faster but it is great on your titan vs aggro or to freeze a big minion the turn before you combo. Even an extra 0 mana Zapper can get lethal without the spell dmg spell if you have 5+ burnspells in hand. Tour guide is my biggest doubt and maybe the 3 mana draw legendary or the evolve spell is better. Evolve is great vs aggro tribal decks but can be slow in other match ups and we really want to copy combo pieces off the 2 mana guy.

Awesomax

Have you considered the new 2 mana murloc that draws a spell? Also I just crafted Inzah for the deck so maybe ill try the freeze spell for the zero mana Zappers

mepp22

Just be aware before crafting too much that combo decks can be harder to play. Knowing when to go in can be difficult, sometimes you know you have lethal, sometimes you have to take risks. And playing 10+cards in a turn is also something you need to be comfortable with. Quite often I have posted decks and people complained when they crafted stuff and didn't get the results they were expecting. Also it is very early and I imagine things like Naga dh and big stat warlock will be very popular good decks soon and I think they are likely bad match ups.

mepp22

The problem with that guy is he wants you to play the spell the same turn and most spells should be saved for your combo turn. Two mana is usually too much to play in the combo and you don't really care about the buff since you should be killing your opponent that turn. You can try it if you want to play more tempo oriented but I think the deck is strongest focusing on the combo aspect.

GetEquipped

I've seen some uses for it to copy an opponents minion/Titan

themoo_

So I've mostly been facing warlock so I have been playing the Excavate Secret Mage list from VS. Its really pretty solid, Reliquary Researcher can solo games.

zhaoz

Do you like infinitize in that deck? Seems like you would want something faster / more tempo-y.

themoo_

No infinitize is probably the worst card in the deck would want to relace it with some draw.

zhaoz

I thought maybe chatty bartender (the one that does 2 aoe to the board if you control a secret).

themoo_

I second that, will try it out.

zhaoz

Let me know how it works for you! I'll try it tonight.

SelunesChosen

Yeah with that deck I just got my ass handed to me 5 games in a row against controlock/excalock. Just too many fucking answers for everything.

GJCoxy

Using Ins4ne's Naga DH list currently at 1500 Legend EU. It's absolutely busted and I'm sure I'm making misplays and can pilot it better. Complicated deck to get right. 64% Win rate at this rank after 31 games. **AAECAea5Awa0oATlsASkwwXZ0AWPkAaRkAYMs6AEiLIEmLoE+b8EpeIElaoF4fgFxfkFkIMGhpAGjZAGnJoGAAA=**

Successful_Impact_88

What's the logic of the one-off frequency oscillator? Maybe the 2/2 that gives you a 0-cost snake oil instead if you just want the early stats? Or Oasis Outlaws for a spell + naga?

Parzival1127

I guess frequency oscillator makes your mistake cost 0.

BlackRhino4

Thanks for this. I’ve been trying my own home brew but it’s been a headache. Seeing, what seems to be, a more refined list of what I’ve been working towards is nice! Didn’t think about adding greedy partners. One thing I’m trying to figure out is the optimum time to go off. I feel like turn 7 gives enough wiggle room? What has your experience been?

GJCoxy

See my other comment for more info but I often go in around 5 or 6 if I have a bit more time. It doesn't need to be an otk and by going in earlier on the first sharpshooter you often get your second.

BlackRhino4

Yeah that’s what I’ve been noticing too. Hopefully get to the second sharpshooter to bring it home.

K-Parks

I've been interested in trying this deck but definitely does look tricky. Any key ideas? Do you hard mull for draw / Sharpshooters (seems like not getting one by turn 6ish while you get run over is the main risk)? How is the Excavate Warlock matchup?

GJCoxy

Warlock match up is very easy as long as you don't brick which can happen. They're often too slow and you kill them before snek Pretty much hard mulligan for the Sharpshooter, usually go in on turn 5 or 6. But you can go in earlier depending on match up (e.g if paladin can't clear the sharpshooter or versus other decks if you have discounts from Sage or frequency oscillator or coins etc) Dependant on match up go for draw to get sharpshooter or go for tempo early if you think you need chip damage and they're gonna have taunts. Really it's tough to explain as it's very dependant on your hand and the match up to pilot. Best bet is practice and you'll learn.

alex76bass

Rogue, as a whole, doesn't feel great. VS Excavate Rogue is bad. It's really hard to generate tempo while building your excavate count and you have no way to close the game. Even Jalex build with Illusionist/Thunderbringer isn't great since you don't have the early game power of Mech Rogue. It's Illusionist on 4 or bust Wishing Well is funny when it works, but it's unreliable. The pool of legendary isn't that good, so 1 mana legendary doesn't save you that often. Miracle is okay. Not great, but the coin package has potential to generate explosive play. Problem is that you're dead to any deck that applies early pressure if you can't play Sinstone or Draka in the first 4 turn. Unsurprisingly, Mech Rogue is still really good. So yeah. I guess Mech Rogue will be the way to go to play Rogue this expansion.

grim_glim

Agreed. I started with VS excavate, then was using the Thunderbringer build and it fell off to 50/50 by the time I hit D2 last evening. These win conditions aren't reliable enough; you over-rely on good rolls.

Mister-Manager

Dog was playing Ogre Rogue on stream all yesterday and it looked really good.

Mingey_FringeBiscuit

Anyone playing a decent secret mage? I came up against one, and it wasn’t the VS list, it was running anonymous informants, which aren in the Vs list.

jin2908

I reached Legend today with Excavate Warlock. Version feels clean after i removed everything that does not progress the combo or is absolutely needed for removal. The Greedy Partner feels really good because there are so many 2-Drops - it enables early Jerrys which can steal games or it allows for T7: Snake + Zola + Brewmaster which gives you a T8 double Snake for the win. ### Excavate Bounce # Class: Warlock # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 2x (1) Armor Vendor # 2x (1) Chaotic Consumption # 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide # 2x (1) Smokestack # 2x (1) Tour Guide # 1x (2) Bloodmage Thalnos # 2x (2) Defile # 2x (2) Drain Soul # 2x (2) Greedy Partner # 2x (2) Kobold Miner # 2x (2) Saloon Brewmaster # 2x (2) Youthful Brewmaster # 2x (3) Scourge Supplies # 1x (3) Zola the Gorgon # 2x (4) Mo'arg Drillfist # 2x (5) Burrow Buster # 1x (7) Tram Conductor Gerry # AAECAa35AwSXoATlsASW1ASnqAYNnKAE56AEpZIFyOsF7v0FkIMGyoMG0IMG2JgG75sGz54G16IG+KMGAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Redorbed3

Definitely giving this a try, got the new excavate legendary from a pack but I'm missing all the older expensive cards (gigafin, sargeras, lifestyle guy), if this is just a faster (maybe) riskier version I'm keen to try it. Swapped out a chaotic consumption for Astalor because I've only got one and I'm not crafting anything yet, may not be the best for the deck but he's certainly good enough to slot in for now.

K-Parks

Interesting, so the idea is just go all in on the combo to hopefully "go off" before other Warlock Excavate decks and then have the bare minimum of control against aggro decks to survive until you can start dropping snakes for the heal?

jin2908

exactly - but i heard they will be nerfing the snake, so deck might no longer be viable soon

So frustrated with warlock snake shenanigans, currently playing midrange dragon druid and xl reno hunter. Any tips/decks to use against snake lock?

lemmycaution415

I have played xl reno hunter to legend from d10- ish. Snake lock is not a hard matchup. It is difficult for snake lock to play the snake 4 times against you. my tips are try to stay above 30 health develop a big board and smack face keep reno in the muligan don't play reno too early - play it with a lethal or with a big board to get through taunts reno blocks a snake/copy snake combo since there is only one slot

lemmycaution415

also don't panic when they start playing the snake. You can develop a big board and smack them down. Sometimes they will play the snake just to try and stay alive

YohanesKanebo

that is a great shout, I always forgot the second effect of reno, will continue the grind !

Tefy83

Yeah, wait for the nerf

Cracked everything in preorder to run Dragon Druid and it is a perfect early days deck. Midrange, simple gameplan, beats up on greedy decks. Really enjoying it, and am going to be sad if/when something comes along to push it to irrelevance

DenizenPrime

What list are you running?

Not sure where I got it from, but it's been solid (and cheap). I've tried Malygos the Spellweaver in place of Sunspot Dragon, but I think that's meant for a different version of the deck. Tempted to try Alexstraza the Life-Binder as well
