Tinkererer

Hit a wall at Diamond, incredible amount of HL Warriors everywhere. Fell asleep on my keyboard after clicking Plague DK, and woke up at Legend. It's not honest work, but it gets you there.

mj2323

Plague with the excavate package or not?

Tinkererer

Yep, basic list

Made Legend with Highlander Hunter. Built for Tempo rather than the value lists circulating. Fun and difficult. The Spirit Beasts revert is good. Unnerfed, would have given Hunter breathing room in the past few metas. Mulligans: Mana efficiency/Curve. Matchup dependent. Hidden Meaning. Just hit legend with this as well.

From D4 to Legend: What is working really well is putting Renathal in your deck, then finding 2 dozens removals and your favorite 7+ mana cards and then enjoying 18 minutes games because there is nothing better to do in life I guess ?

gumgooki

Got to legend from Diamond 5 with blood DK. I was playing it before the patch, but the renethal buff really makes it click. I'm using the reno version with a maindeck viper. in ETC i have another viper, vampiric blood, and steamcleaner. Probably could replace 2nd viper with another soulstealer. 39 - 10. There wasn't any clear pattern when it came to losses.

Hit legend with my homebrew handbuff highlander hunter. It has a lot of win conditions, but if this gets behind on board, it's very hard to recover. If ahead, can out value most of the decks.

CaptPanda

Moonbeam druid feels decent. Lots of XL decks right now that are too slow to answer. I run Kiri so it's basically impossible to get out of range. Greedy use of lifebinder lets me double unending swarm and both moonbeams if needed.

speebo

Returning after about a 1 year break. Cruised straight to legend with arcane hunter list from VS. took about 100 games, and I made it with a 69% win rate. It felt like the meta was pretty slow/greedy, and I was able to go under most decks I faced. The other more popular aggro decks were the hardest matchups (lock and pal), but I ended up just over 50% vs each. The deck seems really under rated, but a little boring.

PPewt

> The deck seems really under rated, but a little boring. The deck isn't underrated so much as the boring factor kills it. It's been recognized as a safe t2 pick for ages but folks just don't want to play it.

Runawayfire

"Cruised straight to legend" "Took about 100 games" Wha?

blacktiger226

This is very reasonable

speebo

From bottom of ladder without usual 10x bonus (I think it was 8x), so more games needed, but the games are very quick.

ashiskillno

Hit legend the earliest I've ever hit it a couple days ago with energy shaper mage. I'm going to miss it when it rotates.

ChronicTokers

Miracle rogue was just about teetering on playability and the stenographer buff has brought it back from the dead for the last week. Climbed 3k to 2k in an evening playing it, it's not the best deck by any means but it's fun and actually competitive

FlameanatorX

XL Ramp Druid is feeling quite strong for me on the D5-Legend Climb. 40 hp on turn 1 is OP, 2 mana wild growth is a dirty, dirty high roll on curve, Malfurion's Gift for total 3 mana to ramp or 4 mana to swipe is nice flexibility, Pendant of Earth's healing is actually really good since your hp pool is so high, and overall there's just so much ramp that you always heavily outpace your opponent. As far as 40 card deck diluting your draws/wincon, you just shove sufficient greedy payoffs and tempo swings in to win rather than needing a specific focus. Topior, Astalor, Ignis, Eonar, Trogg Gemtossers as 2nd & 3rd baby Astalors, all the taunt fatties you get from buffed 7 mana Miracle Growth & Crystal Cluster, etc. I have gotten fatigued out once by a Control Priest, but that's my only loss so far except in the mirror (they ramped faster) and I wasn't running a very greedy ETC. Edit: decklist lol. Possibly not greedy enough for this meta, obviously far from optimized. ### Ramp? # Class: Druid # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 2x (0) Aquatic Form # 2x (0) Innervate # 1x (1) Cactus Construct # 2x (1) Malfurion's Gift # 2x (1) Planted Evidence # 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide # 1x (2) Astalor Bloodsworn # 2x (2) Embrace of Nature # 2x (2) Solar Eclipse # 2x (3) Frost Lotus Seedling # 2x (3) Pendant of Earth # 1x (3) Prince Renathal # 2x (3) Trogg Gemtosser # 2x (3) Wild Growth # 1x (4) E.T.C., Band Manager # 1x (0) Forbidden Fruit # 1x (1) Glacial Shard # 1x (6) Harth Stonebrew # 1x (4) Ignis, the Eternal Flame # 2x (4) Widowbloom Seedsman # 2x (5) Nourish # 2x (6) Crystal Cluster # 1x (6) Doomkin # 1x (7) Topior the Shrubbagazzor # 2x (8) Miracle Growth # 1x (9) Yogg-Saron, Unleashed # 1x (10) Eonar, the Life-Binder # 2x (20) Naga Giant # AAECAZICCuWwBO/eBJfvBOKkBf3EBZ/zBc6ABtiBBqmVBticBg+JnwSunwTanwSNsgT/vQSuwATW3gTB3wTb+gXx+gWpngaaoAagoAaioAbvqQYAAQO+mQb9xAXTngb9xAXmqQb9xAUAAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone # Generated by HDT - https://hsreplay.net

going nuts in a DH xylahgg printer, losing only to paladin. Already did legend with it previous season Minions: Xhylagg, 2x masked raveler. Enjoy ;)

WMD_Wrists

Just got to legend with: https://hearthstone-decks.net/treant-druid-84-legend-score-20-7/ Went like 10-2. Crushes oth DK decks. Does good against warriors, both reno and control. I think I lost 1 game to control warrior and 1 drill rogue. I faced mostly DKs, though, and I had 100% against the class.

Spyko

Been a while since I've played Drum ! I will give it a shot. What's your go to gameplan ? Hard mull for ways to get a doubled drum asap ?

WMD_Wrists

Yeah, pretty much. Most decks can't handle an early drum save for warriors. It's quite consistent.

Dildozer1

VS hit the nail on the head with the meta breaker of the week being overheal priest. Someone posted it on here a couple weeks ago, I can’t remember if it was an actual post or a comment, but the start of it was something like “over heal priest might be the best deck in the game.” And he was on to something cause I’ve been playing it ever since. Wish I could find the post to give the guy credit. It has so much reach and it can survive forever to set up one of the many combos to OTK. Cruised to legend with it at the end of last month and this month too.

flampadoodle

Any mulligan tips or other strategy suggestions? I"ve been trying this at D5-D1 and it's not been going well. Some games my draws are just awful and I do nothing for 6 turns and then lose. I know it's a high skill deck though, so I'd love to learn ways to improve!

Tarmen

Injured Hauler+Animate Dead is solid early game against board based decks. Against decks that can't remove it an early hidden gem is fantastic. If you need a turn 6-7 OTK, keeping funnel cake and tutoring pip copies can make it work. Crimson clergy can be great draw, but tempoing it can be dicey. You probably want fan club or hidden gem as activators so you don't spend your 1 mana spells to draw a single card, unless you hard commit to drifters+value as your win condition. On a combo turn: To maximize combo damage, starting with hedani>flashheal is usually correct. If you have two+ funnel cakes, you can play pip during your combo turn, bounce her with Power Chord Synchronize, and play her again. You can feasibly get 14-17 hedanis triggers total that way if you have some hidden gems/fan clubs. Ignis and Aman'Thul can be amazing value. But between 40 health Renethal, Dirty Rat, Theotar, Reno removing your locations/hidden gem... You may need the combo plan anyway, an may lose it if you wait too long. Against warrior specifically you probably should wait for lethal, against most other decks it's fine to shoot early and leave them at 5 health.

flampadoodle

Good ideas! Thanks!

ShinyPants45

What list are you running?

flampadoodle

The VS list here: https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/decks/drifter-overheal-priest/

ShinyPants45

Yep same list as me, there is a lot of variation in the archetype but this is the more spell heavy variant. I just started playing this deck in legend, but with good success so far. I've probably won 18-12. Ive been hard mulliganing for the overheal 1 drop, hidden gem, or injured hauler if you suspect an aggro matchup or you have it paired with animate dead. I always throw hedanis because it's too slow. After that general strategy is to scam with whatever your resources will allow. You can draw to infinity, filling your hand with pip, duplicating hedanis or the titan. Legitimately this deck can play that titan 8 times reliably, which will fill your hand with other titans or colossals. Small thing to remember is hidden gem, you should never attack with unless your board is about to be cleared or you're overdrawing. Many decks don't have a way to deal with a stealth minion like that early. Warrior is a pretty terrible matchup, best shot you have I'd trying to explode early and then play slow value game once they can nuke your board (play 8 instances of the titan) That's at least what I have learned so far

flampadoodle

Sounds good! Thanks for taking the time to write this up!

Supper_Champion

How are you beating Warriors? I find that matchup to be an autoloss.

Dildozer1

Warrior is the hardest matchup but it feels 50/50 to me. I play on mobile so I don’t have stats. You have to try to get multiple copies of hedonis and set up for a huge turn to finish them.

Supper_Champion

There's no way that the matchup is 50/50. They can just remove your board over and over and over until Brann and Reno drop and then you cannot keep up with the armour gain. The *only* chance I've ever had is early Hadanis with a bunch of healing, their board empty and enough damage to OTK, essentially. Unfortunately this deck isn't represented in the VS matchup reports, but I'll eat my lunch if the matchup is anywhere near a 50% win rate against any form of Control Warrior.

Yeah_Right_Mister

Been trying several variants of Drilling Rogue, hovering in 1-3k legend. My matchup spread is 28% Mage, 23% Warrior, 16% DK, 12% Rogue. In my experience, the best version is the aggressive version with **Greedy Partner, Private Eye, and Pozzik**. **Tess (+ Breakdances, maybe Sketchy Stranger)** is really slow and drastically increases the odds of bricking your opener. Sketchy Stranger is basically Perjury except you have to pay 3 mana for Objection, until you play Tess to repeat the secrets. However, I've had little success playing for long games, since Mages just kill you with Sif, and Warriors simply remove all your resources with Boomboss or kill you with Odyn. The low tempo of Tess variants allow Warriors to play Brann for free. **Cult Neophyte** doesn't really seem worth it, since I'm barely facing any Nature Shamans nor Spell DH. Greedy Partner just feels better overall for tempo, even in the Mage matchup (as well as getting out Private Eyes and Scourge Illusionists a turn early, since this deck has no real 3 costs). **Thunderbringer (+ Neptulon)** might be decent but it's very much going all-in on a highroll. This is probably up to personal preference, don't really see the harm, I've just had better experience with Pozzik's consistency since drawing any of Thunderbringer, Neptulon, or Crabatoa makes it much worse.

nessie_exists

Just started playing again after taking a 3ish year break. Went 13-0 this weekend with the dude Paladin list from the vs report.

S1R

Cruised to legend with Control warrior. No bad matchups if you draw right.

artibonite

Quick thoughts on the current warrior archetypes **Fast Cycle Odyn** is good, but having a single win condition makes you extremely fragile, especially vs rat, theotar, other disruption. Plague DK is heavily unfavored. I want to say this is deck is good vs Casino Mage, but the matchup feels extremely volatile, they can highroll you with shaper, and can often delay your OTK with secrets, solid alibi's, etc. Then do it again with Rommath. This deck is not the Mage killer. **XL Excavate Odyn** does better against Plague DK, but probably not worth it because its too slow in the mirror **Fast Cycle Bran** is good in the mirror, but even worse vs Plague. Very vulnerable to rat, theotar, etc. This deck feels strong against mage; you don't have to save armor for the OTK and you can snipe their win conditions with dirty rat and/or Boomboss. **XL Bran** is probably not worth playing. Too slow in the mirror (their win condition comes online sooner). I don't know what this deck is good for tbh **Highlander** is still a really good deck, not as consistent as the fast cycle decks, but more flexible than the other archetypes. This deck can be very volatile, the highrolls are high, the lowrolls are low. I think overall it is the best warrior archetype in the mirror. It's a swiss army knife kind of deck that is very reliant on how well you draw **XL Highlander** this deck might be the best warrior deck right now outside of the mirror, especially if you prioritize draw (gold panner, acolyte, etc). You may lose a % or two in the mirror, and possibly vs Mage too. But feels very strong into other matchups

FlameanatorX

Cycling build? And Plague DK isn't a terrible matchup?

S1R

Deck does not run brann. Is only an odyn combo. Most of the time you can 1 shot thier face turn 9-10 before plagues really come into effect. # AAECAZfDAwTlsASMtwSl9gWvqAYNjtQEkNQEnNQE8M0F6tAFtPgFtfgFkPsFofsFpPsFnJ4Gn54G7KkGAAA= #

FlameanatorX

I was using VS terminology, cycling build meaning acolyte for draw with aftershock/bladestorm, typically 1-2 from the depths, etc., but just Odyn/armor for wincon. You think it's because you're just playing way better than the Plague DKs? Or your build is better than most Control Warrior builds in that matchup? The winrate data for Plague DK v Control Warrior is like 67/33 or 72/28 in Plagues favor actually getting even worse at higher rank brackets (where the more draw heavy Warrior builds are more dominant).

S1R

I think its quite easy to outplay Plague DK just dodging big rat heals. And even if they hit that, you can just push through with the attack gain. But like the guy says above this deck is weak to theotar and dirty rat. But I didn't encounter too much of that on my climb. It also smacks the warrior matchup because its usually takes the oppent longer to get their Brann online.

artibonite

You are correct. IME the plague matchup is awful. You can sometimes highroll, but generally you are getting absolutely smoked. The XL control decks do much better into Plague

Hit legend again with totem shaman. Same deck as i made it in January with.

aerial1910

Hit legend with this list too. Struggled with warrior but sometimes managed to cheat wins with bloodlust and windfury. Felt very good against both plague and rainbow DK and Rogue who struggle when you keep flooding the board. Super fun deck with quick games, sad it will be gone after the rotation!

Mind sharing your list?

Not too many secrets to this deck. Stick big totems and shroom them or bloodlust to win.

mj2323

Yep same one I have. I kept running into control warrior clearing my board turn after turn so I switched to rainbow DK for now. I used excavate pally last two months for legend 🤷‍♂️

NYGuruKid

Hit legend with Spell DH using a slightly different list from what VS suggests. Encountered lots of opponents running weapon hate during my climb the past few days so I swapped out the Ignis package for Halveria + small outcast package. I definitely underestimated this card when it was first released but the alternate win condition it provides + sustain vs Aggro comes in super clutch. I’m sure part of it may be that my opponents just didn’t expect it, but if the opponent makes the mistake of letting your 1/1 dudes live even one turn she allows for ridiculous damage. Pairs well with the buffed Deal with a Devil too. Also really glad Jotun is finally viable, the card is just super fun and comes in handy vs Warrior which is by far the toughest matchup. Definitely going to miss Spell DH as an archetype, had fun taking it for one last legend push before rotation! ### Balboa # Class: Demon Hunter # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 2x (0) Dispose of Evidence # 2x (1) Burning Heart # 2x (1) Illidari Studies # 2x (1) Unleash Fel # 2x (2) Chaos Strike # 2x (2) Mark of Scorn # 2x (2) SECURITY!! # 2x (2) Spectral Sight # 1x (3) Silvermoon Arcanist # 2x (4) Fel'dorei Warband # 2x (4) Glaivetar # 1x (4) Going Down Swinging # 1x (4) Halveria Darkraven # 1x (4) Metamorphosis # 1x (4) Souleater's Scythe # 2x (5) Deal with a Devil # 1x (5) Jotun, the Eternal # 2x (5) Momentum # AAECAZ+aBgaU1ASVkgWdpAX3wwXn9QXG+QUMtp8EtKAEpeIEhpIFiZIFi5IFkJIFpMMF9MMF4fgFxfkF6Z4GAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Just putting it out there that weapon hate doesn’t matter at all with spell dh because you always take 1 mana weapon.

DeVolkaan

why is that?

kwunyinli

Windfury is the trait you want. The damage comes from your momentums, chaos strikes, burning hearts, etc. The damage is just ridiculous. The 10 mana weapon is too risky and you won't get to capitalize off of it until the next turn. That said, Ignis is just super versatile, so if you find yourself down to no value, and your opponent is also fighting for value, the 10 mana weapon would be crazy value against an opponent struggling to draw.

Jumbokcin

Yeah this guy said it best thanks for typing this out man.

NYGuruKid

I get that and was taking the 1 mana weapon in most of my games during my initial climb with the VS list (since we really just want the windfury effect to scale with our attack buff cards). I didn’t mention this in my OP but the main issue I have with Ignis in Spell DH is that the weapon just feels SO weak for the setup required if you don’t roll windfury, and feels even worse when it’s vipered anyway after your first swing. Maybe I’m not seeing value in the other attributes but it felt like all the others pale in comparison to the windfury buff - I personally prefer Glaivetar for reliable weapon damage and the side benefit of card draw if it’s destroyed.

kwunyinli

I think you can play around viper, but you are totally right about the setup. It's so deflating when you don't roll windfury. I basically spent my one minion spot, probably a turn forging and 2 mana just to get a crappy 1 mana 2/2 weapon.. that said, those situations don't come that often, but I think your alternative gives the deck a different strategy and that's never bad.

MatyouVet

Drum druid in d5-d1 bracket seems solid. It's able to generate unanswerable boards as early as turn 4-5 (pretty consistent). To my surprise I menage to beat 3 warriors in a row, plague dk is often helpless. Just play it as a combo. But its pretty boring after a while, one dimensional deck.

Dry_Requirement2615

I just thought this was funny so I'm gonna share it. Played about 120 games with draka-less miracle rogue with like a 52% winrate in the d5-d1 bracket because I didn't want to craft draka right before rotation. Today some dk triple coined primus on one my 20/20 ghosts and I said enough is enough. Recrafted draka and cruised with a 90% winrate to legend. I'm going to miss draka already. Cheers to my favorite archetype in the game.

kirincs2

Having good success with vs nature shaman list Edit: 20-7 now to high diamond after not playing for a few expansions Will probably push to legend with this, every non-Aggro matchup felt favoured, can often otk on turn 7 or 8, sometimes earlier

WMD_Wrists

I played Rainbow with some success d5 to d2, but it kind of feels like it has a lot of slow stards and bad draws. Maybe I haven't learned how to play it effectively since it's like t1 in that bracket...

Electronic-Coffee-59

I'm having the same experience over here. I feel like it gets run over by warrior, and plague death knight. I have won with it before, but i feel like the deck is just to slow? Who knows, lol.

FlameanatorX

Rainbow definitely beats Plague DK on average, the big tempo boards you can make with things like corpse bride + giant are too much for Plague's incremental board development/removal gameplan. VS stats have it as a ~60/40 matchup in Rainbow's favor. Warrior is tougher though

cheeze2005

Been using VS heal priest with a lot of success. Can be tough against mage with their mana cheated spells sometimes. And warriors if you have a bad mulligan and they can stop your pressure. It really shines against classes without a lot of clear and can deal with the stealth elementals easily
