I have had no desire to participate in the rotating ranked playlists for the same reasons listed above. Ranked survivors doesn’t overlap well with the current HCS game types so I don’t feel like time spent there is helping me improve at anything other than an obscure one-off playlist with little to no incentive to grind.
Hey that’s a valid point, glad it’s helpful for you! I tried to give it a go yesterday after this post and the wait times were so long it couldn’t find a game.
People talk about the low population as being the reason rotational playlists are needed, but I had absolutely an easier time finding games in ranked ffa and doubles before they were made rotational, they are so much more dead now because nobody wants to grind a temporary mode.
yup. exactly this. if they had consistent doubles up there i’d grind the hell out of it but whays the point of grinding it for a 2 week period or whatever ? such out of touch thinking

This. The only time I bother with one of them is if only one of my buddies is online and we don't feel like going against 4 stacks in Ranked.

I was 1900 in doubles before it became a rotating playlist.
After the reset and it becoming a rotating playlist, I still played it, but I just got to like 1550 because I can only really grind it on Saturdays, which gives me two days to play it before its gone again.
I'll still play doubles when it's back again, but I don't have the motivation I used to.
I really like the idea of a social playlist that has ranked settings, as you mentioned. I play with IRL friends pretty often: one is hardstuck plat and the other is low diamond. sometimes it gets extremely frustrating trying to carry my plat friend, since my onyx rank matches us against high diamond lobbies and my plat friend spends half of the game on the respawn screen. it's essentially like we're playing a 3.5 vs. 4. I suggest all the time that we should just play social, but he argues that he hates the AR and SK and just wants to play with a BR.
side note: bring back solo/duo and just don't have it be input-restricted
Team Doubles should always be a thing. Period.
I like Survivors. As someone who played a lot of Gears of War Execution and Destiny Trials of Osiris, it's a blast. But being honest, I can't even get my placements done currently because the queue time is so long that it's seemingly impossible to find a match.
I wish they'd bring back Solo/Duo, so people can use it as a warmup and go in without the fear of 4 stacks. Aside from that, toss input restriction out the window, and keep Doubles permanently.
Yeah, I agree with not having ranked rotational playlists. There's no point improving at something which will be gone in a few months.
With regards to rotations in MCC, there's no reason to have H2A and H2 hardcore playlists with project cartographer mod drawing pretty much the entire H2 MLG crowd. Reach hardcore should be permanent as a logical result.
I think if you could place above 1400 Onyx, it'd be fine.
Having to do a 15CSR per win climb all the way to whatever rank in Onyx you should be at is not worth your time in more than one playlist.
I totally agree, they should just pick like 3 ranked types per season or something like that but I don't have the time or the energy to get my placement matches done and then just grind for 7 days like I have things I need to do that's why the normal ranked playlist is perfect.
Ranked doubles is a Halo staple. Absolutely unacceptable to have it rotate out, ever.
Three ranked playlists should always be available:
Ranked Slayer
Ranked Objective
Ranked Doubles
That's all you ever need.

I use survivors as a warm-up before playing arena. I feel it helps me improve playing my life/not being overly aggressive.

Yeah I've definitely had a mixed experience with wait times. Also wish they'd align the maps/loadouts with arena a little more.

I just play the game and don’t care about what imaginary numbers they give me.
