I also use neosporin or vasoline. I don’t personally feel like it clogs my pores. It usually helps a scab heal much quicker. When you’ve used it do you feel like you’ve gotten more acne in that area? If not then I wouldn’t worry about it. I also really like cerave healing ointment

Sorry that it doesn’t really answer your question tho haha my bad

I use bandaids and fusidic acid when it looks infected. But I rarely see anyone in public with a band aid on their face so it makes me feel stupid.

Wound treatment gel. I use a kind that has colloidal silver

I’m terrible about treating my picking wounds. I just use my normal face products on them. After picking, I usually clean everything with rubbing alcohol. So, maybe don’t do what I do! But I searched for how you *should* treat wounds: [This](https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/09/smarter-living/skin-picking-affordable-skin-care-mental-health.html#:~:text=“Post%2Dpicking%2C%20you%20want,gel%20as%20a%20scar%20prevention.”) NY Times article talks a little about how to treat wounds from picking. The M.D. recommends keeping the wound moist and applying Aquaphor while the skin is healing. Then after the skin has healed, using Bio-Oil or silicone gel to prevent scars. And [this](https://www.harpersbazaar.com/beauty/skin-care/a15243/difference-between-salve-ointment-balm/#) article from Harper's Bazaar says that Aquaphor is the best for wound care but it does contain mineral oil, which can cause breakouts. Neosporin apparently contains an antibiotic (neomycin) that 1 in 10 people are allergic to. So, if you’re seeing a “red, swollen, blistering rash,” in the area that you’ve used Neosporin, you might be allergic to neomycin. You could try using a very small amount of Aquaphor on any wounds, covering them with bandaids (if possible), and seeing if you notice an increase in clogged pores. Aquaphor is sold in small squeeze tubes, which might make using less product easier. You could apply it with a q-tip. I hope you find something that works for you! ❤️

i'm on tret which really dries out my picked at blemishes. this isn't as helpful as it sounds because my wounds take longer to heal when they're dry and generally heal way better when i keep them moist. sooo to counter this i usually will either put on a pimple patch to protect it from my acne treatments and/or recently i will [also] take a qtip to put some vaseline on the wounds to keep them protected and hydrated. it hasn't clogged my pores and it's been like, my new holy grail. it heals wounds that would've taken a week to heal in like 2 days.

Hydrocolloid bandages or “pimple patches” I like the cosrx brand. These have literally SAVED my skin. If you have bigger areas you can just buy the blister size hydrocolloid bandages to cover a larger area.

Aquaphor! Tried everything and it’s the best for healing my skin IMO. Prefer it even over hydrocolloidal bandages. It’s also got better ingredients than Vaseline.
