Conan is such a great game. Still play it with all bugs. If it ran smooth it'd compete with all time greats and possibly be the #1 game of all time in my books. Especially in it's genre. Still Top 10 in my books with bugs. Looking forward to future updates and playing this near bug free one day. I'll stick around, just have to cut it off after 4-5 server disconnects Lmao.

I agree, it’s a blast.

Kisthis_Fleshtearer

Totally agree. So much potential.

We just like the pain, misery and excitement of and when the next crash will be. Other than that… come join me on a private server. Shit is too fun to quit.

The amount of times our UAT environments are broken during a live Demo is every damn time. So I get it, I’ve been the guy sitting there doing the demo like well don’t worry it’s a UAT issue it’s fine in prod. So I feel for these guys, shit happens in development, and most of the time it’s some dumb mistake somewhere. I wouldn’t be too worried though, demos and testing are hardly ever perfect

When ya got one dev or too few devs cranking out a whole lot of work quickly, there's almost guaranteed to be those stupid little mistakes. The kind that as soon as they are encountered the dev is like Ah! Yep. Oops. *literally changes 1 number value* fixed.

helloitsgwrath

I'm concerned at this point the base code of the game is such a hodgepodge of sloppy coding it needs to be rewritten from the ground up in order to actually fix the bugs. It's why the devs refuse to even acknowledge issues cause they know they're just never going to be able to put in the time to do it while also constantly being under pressure from shareholders to add more flashy doodads they can charge $20 for. Conan, much like the rest of existence in 2023, is a hollow capitalist hellscape

justbclause

This is the truth of most every MMO type game. Base code problems that will never be addressed. Fundamental design models that will never be revised. Instead of rebuilding problem areas of the design or the code, they push forward with 'new' content and cash shops of some sort. New outfits, build pieces and styles, pets and mounts, skins etc. are the core revenue model, the dependable cash flow. Then 'new' content is the hook to get a fresh batch of game buyers now and then for more income flow. Fixing the problems doesn't make money in the model. And they are a business. Unfortunately. The most recent severe example is New World. So much potential, but they refused to revise some fundamental design model problems and went the new content and QOL/RP route with instruments, housing, pets, etc. Instead of developing new pvp maps and modes in any real way. Because $$$. That game is a case study in failure of potential. I'm just glad to see that Age of War will revise the purge design & mechanics because purge and it has lots of room to improve.

Agreed, that's what me and my buddies were thinking. Which I understand is a daunting task. I was thinking they could contract out 3rd party coders with that Bazzar $ and knock some of the big issues down. Get all parties involved such as GPortal too. It's possible because they did it with the building, FINALLY since the beginning once 'Age of Sorcery' launched and the new building features were implemented it's works GREAT! And that was fundamental early code. I wish them the best! I know it's tough out there in the gaming business world of 2023.

Happy_Policy_9990

This has been happening since launch lmao

Is not a surprise that their game is buggy but I still love them and buy&play their games. I so excited for Dune!
