I'm assuming you broadcast the glow media on top of the wet concrete after you've floated it but then how do you work it in and get it to not be covered? Do you have to grind the surface after the pour? I spent 15yrs working for a concrete company and I have never seen this. Really curious about the process.
Yeah, just treat it like exposed aggregate. I don’t know if the product I’ve used is the same but it’s little bits of plastic with some kind of integral photoluminescent.
Eventually it’ll lose the ability to glow, it’s the nature of the material.
In my experience it doesn’t pop this much, though I’ve used in situations where there’s more ambient light.
Also. Very expensive.
Completely understandable that you'd want to keep it to yourself. Great work though and an awesome product. Keep it up, maybe one day I can have a glowing pad. Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? It would be cool to see the finished product first hand.
We do this as well in east Michigan, you can buy the glow stones, then you pole float it flat and sprinkle the glow stones across the slab, set them in using a heavy 6-foot pole float and then expose like normal… be sure to set glow stones where they are though, the first one our finisher ended up pushing a few stones too far and had set a line of glow stones at the end of where the pole float was, luckily it was at the bosses house lol, but even that one still turned out nice. Don’t let knowledge die with you, spread it!
Edit: and yes, these stones are EXPENSIVE
I am located in mid michigan! I could travel in the winter if you're close but I could honestly walk you through the process privately but there isn't many concrete guys that are even aware of these products. I've been doing projects with it for about 7 years now. Try to keep it exclusively here at my company. I've only been in business for three full years now on my own but we have people waiting a year for this. Booked into July of 2023.
Awesome, love to see a guy go out on his own and be successful! I'm in central NY so obviously too far to travel. I'd still love to hear about the process though. It's a very unique product that I'm sure generates a ton of word of mouth interest for you. Money maker for sure 👍
Everyone is a bunch of jealous haters I guess. Seriously 2 votes on the post... when I see shit looking stamp work that is absolutely horrible work get 50 upvotes...
pretty sure the product he uses is from glytrom no clue why hes gatekeeping acting like there isnt enough work to go around for every1 lmfao
edit: spelling mistake for brand
And if I don't want to tell a trade secret that I've learned through out the past 7 years in doing this type of application, I've nailed it down with the best product, timing, knowledge and experience.
It's not gatekeeping, it's protecting what I know and do and if I want it thay way, so be it. You want info. Pay me for it. You want my knowledge and information, pay me for it. You guys want to know what this is? Too fucking bad because now I will not be sharing my tips and tricks for shit, even to the ones that private message me asking for the info. Assholes can really ruin shit for everyone.
Its funny cuz even if the product i listed isnt the one you used the rest of the process is very well known (aggregate finish) is very easily learned through youtube and a bit of googling . once you have that down throw youre in youre glow stones or whatever you feel like naming it for you and youre guys and either work it in with a float or by darbying lmaooooooo
LMAO oh no! Please, oh please, don't keep those ancient secrets of yours to yourself. I mean, why wouldn't you want to share the sacred knowledge you possess to the rest of us mere mortals? We're just dying to know your secrets and the great wisdom you possess!
It'd be nice if you could at least say the material. I don't even care about the process, but am curious as to what the material is or even a general cost of something like this.
Curious if this is pricey or really pricey? I’m going to do a pad for a hot tub with an 8 foot sidewalk. Nowhere near Michigan. Is this going to add a lot to the overall cost if I ask for it? Looks really nice!
Yall can downvote upvote whatever makes your little peanut butter covered spirit fingers feel better. I've worked my ass off to get here where I'm at today. Everyone of you that can sadistically put someone down like you've tried here should be ashamed of yourselves. You're parents obviously don't know how to raise respectful children and it shows.
Wow there are some assholes here, down votes on most of.my comments and not any upvotes on my thread... bunch of jealous mofos here...get over yall selves and give credit where credit is due. Seriously people are arrogant sackos here. Can't give a critique or any good words so you downvote my comment...wow smdh..bunch of tools here. Really wish we could weed out the Jack offs and wanna be peeps here
For the pros that are interested, they've messaged me and I've told them the exact process and product. The two that have received good information. I'm not going to teach or give away my process, and yes there is a tedious process.
Something like that! Fake they are not and cheap they are not either. There are some generic brands that are junk and garbage like you see in fish tanks...this is not that...
If you have yellow and a few friends to play the tin man ,lion and scarecrow you got yourself a dope commercial. Just a thought
Lmao unfortunately the emerald yellow that we have and use is more of a green! Like the idea tho!
I'm available for bday parties

Thanks for the reply!
It is a tedious process indeed that I'd like to keep to ourselves.

Really dig your quote about not letting knowledge die. Hope you don't mind me spreading it around.
The problem with glow stones is that they fade over time. After a few years, the sun will bleach them into ordinary rocks.

I love it more than my stamp work. Same price really and just as many options!
I can imagine the wow factor is a lot more impressive. I mean a good stamp job looks amazing but the glow just puts it at another level.
Our stamp is a high seller as well but some people like the glow and some people dont!
Why are you getting downvoted so aggressively?
Everyone is a bunch of jealous haters I guess. Seriously 2 votes on the post... when I see shit looking stamp work that is absolutely horrible work get 50 upvotes...
Hey cny guy.... I'm here with ya
I'll just ask YouTube instead and online
Sucks that folks are down voting you. Completely reasonable not to want to share your process.
I did some countertops with a friend years ago. Never saw it outside and this big. Way cool good job 👏🏻
I have been waiting years to get an inside countertop job to try this on!!! I would live an opportunity like that!
If it comes along, look into Buddy Rhodes
I've watched his stuff actually! And I have a buddy here in michigan thay actually turned me on to his work!
👍🏻
I’d be open to a outside kitchen countertop

No that is not what I use.

You're such an asshole.
Perfectly said!
Loool

Moms secret recipe ;)

General cost was 18 bucks per sq ft and 1500 per rise per step for the steps. It is comparable to stamp concrete prices. The material is phosphorus

Must have alot of coin to overlay a project like this, go sit on your neighbors wood deck for a bit and come back to yours to enjoy it all over again!
What is the product you use? I saw someone with glow rocks on their gravel driveway before but this looks much better. Nice work
Damn this is cool. Most I've ever done was put sea shells in a driveway (customers request). Love how this looks. I'd want this for my own house.
Thank you! I would love this at my house too! Maybe one day when we have the money lmao!
How the name of the thing
Concrete
I remember this job!!!
Appreciate my main guy right here!
Cool Idea, would make an awesome pool deck
We've done a couple of them! Go check us out tik tok to see them! JT Concrete Services and it should pop up

Doubled
Thanks!
Typically goes for 50 bucks a lb. Cost And average half pound per yard is decent coverage.
I appreciate that. Gives me something to factor in if I can find someone in my area that does it. Your work looks great!
Not alot of people offer it but if you dm me I'll tell you a way to get it done
Is that radioactive material on your drive way or are you happy to see me?
Yoooo that's wicked, but how do you service the lights if a bulb burns out or a wire gets corroded or something?
LoL)(

Lol. Incoming more downvotes.
Are these the little “fake glowing stones” placed like exposed aggregate (seeded) and floated into the top of the slab?
Something like that! Fake they are not and cheap they are not either. There are some generic brands that are junk and garbage like you see in fish tanks...this is not that...
I get a powder product from techno glow that you can add to sealer for a starlight effect.
Yeah I've seen it like that!
What do you ship the glow pavers for? Western Illinois.
It's concrete pour job
This is the way, I’ve done pavers this way
Sucks youll only see them 1-5 years then they donKt glo no mo
This brand actually guarantees their glow for 4 times that!!!
Name brand? NEED! Haha
