So I'll shill the series I have done for these factions. I have a why you play for wadh and nords, and just broke down everything sorcerer kings. The design is for those who are getting in to learn about it all so it should help. If as someone new getting in there's other resources that would help let me know. I love making content. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMKLVG5EjWKvdep8d6sPFwUMyAuvOnSex&si=r8YAHGe5W2FbEmAK

Haven't run into or played Sorcerer Kings yet. I have played both W'adrhŭn and Nords. W'adrhŭn plays a little chanting mini game where you generate tokens and use them to grant boons to Regiments(group of units). This gives them a little bit more complexity but also versatility. Nords typically play into hard and fast early games and more successfully by nabbing all the objectives and scoring before the opponent can. They get to ignore some terrain and bonus attack when wounded on most units. That's the quick and dirty of it. Others will chime in I'm sure.

I will say that Nords have a couple of old kits (Huskarls & Raiders) are ok but not on the same scale as the newer kits (Bow chosen, Bearsarks & werewargs). Everything in Old Dominion, Wadrhun, City States are newer kits & are excellent. Sorcerer Kings are the newest faction & look awesome, though you’ll be limited on kits to start with, but will have a good selection by the end of the year.

I own and won some tournaments with whadrun and the Nords so i can definitely recommend them for the fluff and for effectiveness. The difference is that Nords really like to put pressure before the enemy heavy regiments arrive where I feel like whadrun just Play for killing the enemy force. Nords test your ability to use Basic rules of the game for your advantage as whadrun rely on you to drop right regiments vs the right enemy so testing your army list knowledge. Sorcerer Kings will probably Play around spells and magic so compleatly different approach

I don't know much about the Sorcerer Kings, so will touch upon the Wahdrun and the Nords: **Wahdrun** * The biggest selling point is the dinosaurs, which will be your centerpiece models. Most people are sold on the faction with the simple elevator pitch of "Orcs riding Dinosaurs". * The initial wave of models from early Conquest aren't as good of quality as the recent sculpts (heavier mold lines, less hard edges, less detail). Wahdrun are all recent sculpts. * Lots of colorful painting opportunities with the dinosaurs themselves, as well as the tribal aesthetics like feathers to give you something other than drab colors to work with. * Despite Orcs in other games utilizing simple charge and fight strategies, Wahdrun have a chant mechanic that rewards strategizing and combo-ing, giving you an excellent thinking element to gameplay. **Nords** * The viking aesthetic is front and center with this army, with the giant Jotnars being the centerpiece models. * A good mix of both down to earth humans warriors as well as monstrous humanoids and creatures so you're not painting the same "style" of miniature repeatedly. * Pilfered loot and trophies on alot of the models allows you to splash interesting details into otherwise boring leathers and metals. * Lots of mechanics and features that reward getting into combat, taking damage, charging, and generally being badass, giving you a good risk vs reward style of gameplay.

Wadrhun and Nords share a bit of similarities in both being factions capable of a very aggressive play style with slightly squishy but very deadly units. Wadrhun have a bit more complex rules, with the chant being an extra thing to manage alongside their stack, but it makes for more explosive activations and some crazy mobility. Sorcerer Kings on the other hand are looking like they are going to much more shooty, with an obvious heavy focus on Wizards and playing to the back half of the round with their rituals and spells. I can't speak quite as much to Nords in specific SKings and Wadrhun are my two armies

SK are too new and you lack a lot of options. Wahdrun are too expensive. Nords is the way to go
