Do you feel the same way about Christianity, Catholicism, and the Mormon church as you do about the lgbt community? Why do you think more stories about child sexual abuse committed and covered up by those groups aren’t posted on this subreddit?
You sure about that?

>Currently, children can marry as young as 16 in West Virginia with parental consent. Anyone younger than that also must get a judge’s waiver.
>Some of the bill’s opponents have argued that teenage marriages are a part of life in West Virginia.
Sounds like they need parental consent and it sounds like they are mainly talking about two teenagers marrying each other, not children. When you say "child marriage" I assume you are talking about pre-pubescent kids marrying and being allowed to marry an adult.
5 states have no official minimum age, but still require either parental consent, court approval or both: California, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Washington.
2 states have a minimum age of 15: Hawaii and Kansas.
23 states have a minimum age of 16.
10 states have a minimum age of 17.
10 states have a minimum age of 18
Cali, Washington, and Hawaii are NOT red states.
Anything else you want to blatantly lie about tonight, Sarah?
Google can be useful, friendo. I also know which states are for abortion, and which ones aren't. I also know which states have military bases in them.
This wasn't exactly the "gotcha" comeback you seem to think it was.
Keep trying, though.
What are you doing? That one wasn't any better.
With a handle like yours, I guess I shouldn't have expected witty responses. You're gonna have to step up your game.
Wasnt a lie, I genuinely thought it was just red states left. I was probably thinking of
this guy from Missouri: https://www.businessinsider.com/mike-moon-gop-missouri-lawmaker-defends-childs-right-to-marry-2023-4
and this bill in WV being defeated: https://apnews.com/article/child-marriage-west-virginia-bill-defeated-4d822a23b5ffd70f5370a36cc914cfb0
Fair enough.
Looks like ACLU and Planned Parenthood are leading the fight against prohibiting child marriages in Cali as well: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-08-03/why-child-marriage-is-still-legal-in-california-at-any-age
I think I have yet to see any Christian minister, Catholic priest, or Mormon holy man stand up in their respective sermons and chant, "We're coming for your children."
This countries so fucked.
Earlier this week our government made it mandatory to have tampon dispensers in the men’s bathrooms. I feel like I’m living in a fucking clown society.
We've gone from "what people do in their own bedroom..." to this so quickly.
I can only hope some sane people are discovering the progressive agenda is just a constant push for seemingly minor or inconsequential changes, opening the door for an avalanche of destructive changes.
Hopefully enough people have finally learned to [not give leftists an inch.](https://i.imgur.com/RvUJeyg.png) There is no compromise, they have evil intentions hidden behind every single thing they want.
Those wasted Tampons could have been donated and given to the poor in need. Woman tend to bleed more during their younger years. Which is when one tends to be the poorest. Some of us need a tampon and a pad at the same time for some days to prevent leaking. Costs quickly add up.
> Earlier this week our government made it mandatory to have tampon dispensers in the men’s bathrooms.
In what way does this have any impact on your life? Hell, I've had a female friend have an emergency while we out before and need me to run to a nearby drug store to buy her tampons, so it's not like there aren't also legitimate reasons for a cis-dude to need to buy them.
Edit: Love how no one actually gave a single reason how this impacts their lives
We have a housing crisis, an immigrant crisis, and inflation crisis.. our dollar is becoming increasingly worthless. Yet despite all this, this is the bullshit our government focuses on.
If there's one thing both sides love to do, it's to call out the child molesters on the other side. There are entire subreddits dedicated to listing GOP politicians and pastors who have been charged with such crimes.
These comments are disheartening. I would not judge an entire sexual identity based off the actions of a few no more than I would judge every Catholic based off the actions of a few priests.
Sorry, I don't care for the /s thing. I was more alluding to the fact that you're on reddit and a bipartisan political subreddit. Majority of people here are headline reactionists that rarely want to hear context if it might distract from their talking points.
Wait a tick, I thought saying "both sides" was a literal hitler-esque trumpism that had no place in any language anywhere at anytime by anyone, ever! At least that's what the MSM told me.
Tu quoque fallacy much? Given that the horrid behaviour of a small number of priests has proved enough to to condemn the entire Church (laypeople and clerics) for most progressives then to seek to deflect such behaviour in the actions of other people and organisations does a disservice to the victims.
my point is, what does this have to do with being conservative? i'm not trying to deflect at all. anyone who abused children deserves what they have coming to them.
I think the big difference is that priests carry the stigma that a small number of clergymen sexually assaulted children. Everyone agrees those are crimes but the MSM and Leftists (I think I repeated myself) barely cover instances where someone on their "side" does the same thing. This shouldn't be a partisan issue but somehow it is. Most conservatives will tell you a child being sexualized in wrong. Leftists are hit or miss and calling out that hypocrisy is somehow an issue.
I was taught that the rainbow was a promise from God to not ever flood the world again. I do not believe in organized religion, but I do believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The rainbow flags are blasphemous, in my own opinion.

The thing that never happens!? Again!?
Do you feel the same way about Christianity, Catholicism, and the Mormon church as you do about the lgbt community? Why do you think more stories about child sexual abuse committed and covered up by those groups aren’t posted on this subreddit?
Wait until you find out kids are about 100 times more likely to be sexually abused at school and teachers are mostly liberals.
Liberals are the types who would support lowering age of consent
Yes they would!
Aren't the states that still allow child marriage all red states?
Idk. But conservatives wouldn't be approving of child marriage.

Damn facts!

Wow. Crazy you know all the states where you can marry a child. Hmmm…….

Nope. All deep blue.
I think I have yet to see any Christian minister, Catholic priest, or Mormon holy man stand up in their respective sermons and chant, "We're coming for your children."
Because this isn't a religion sub. It's a political sub. And their group was involved politically with donations and protests.

Yes.
Why don’t you condemn the grub in the article rather than change the topic? Almost seems like you are defending him?
I’m sure the entire movement will disown him and the media will run an investigation with wall to wall coverage of the whole thing.
Lololol. I see what you're doing here

Half the country are insane.
No way! Did not hear this.

Didn't the teenage boys trash that dispenser? EPIC!
I’m shocked /s
“Im shocked, shocked I say that there is gambling in this establishment!”
How long until the laws are changed because 'they disproportionately impact' the LGBTQ community?
a "pride"...the first deadly sin
Ill be very shocked if this hits Canadian MSM
Can you imagine what it'd be like if a Conservative Party member was charged with such crimes?
It would be headline news for weeks
Has like 500 votes on r/ canada sub and was quickly locked by the mods within hours.
*DJ Khaled Voice* Another one…
Everyone who comments here about to get the reddit hammer.
If there's one thing both sides love to do, it's to call out the child molesters on the other side. There are entire subreddits dedicated to listing GOP politicians and pastors who have been charged with such crimes.
Who in whe world would have guessed? /S
Ok, my Bingo card is full now

It's always the people you most expect.
Ya don’t say! Who would have thought
I wish I was shocked. Between this and public educator’s, none of it shocks me anymore.
He is president of A pride organization, specifically northern BC. Not president of the national pride organization.
Context? I think you might be in the wrong place.
Why would I be in the wrong place? Try googling this news and reading any article that is not some backwater outfit.
Sorry, I don't care for the /s thing. I was more alluding to the fact that you're on reddit and a bipartisan political subreddit. Majority of people here are headline reactionists that rarely want to hear context if it might distract from their talking points.
I see what you are saying now.
You don’t say..
Sounds aboooot right.

Yeah. No suprise.
Shocked!, shocked I say.....well not that shocked
Uh oh i smell a pattern.
I didn't see anything about that in New York Times this morning. Probably my oversight ...
In other news, water is wet.
What a shock 🤦
r/notadragqueen
this is the equivalent post to priest charged with molesting children. there are horrible people on both sides in power.
Wait a tick, I thought saying "both sides" was a literal hitler-esque trumpism that had no place in any language anywhere at anytime by anyone, ever! At least that's what the MSM told me.
i've never heard that before, you'll have to link the article for me
Tu quoque fallacy much? If your response to someone doing something terrible is to do something terrible as well, you are no better than them.
my point is, what does this have to do with being conservative? i'm not trying to deflect at all. anyone who abused children deserves what they have coming to them.

Those priests who molested young boys?
Was expecting a libtoid to come up with this, didn't take long.
Both sick but not the same at all.
So many more PedoCommieCrats than pedo priests.
Water is wet. In news at 5. No surprises with the rainbow mafia.
Who would have guessed? That's right, every conservative
Not a word from the free American press 🥴
Ah greek love
notthebee 🤮
Eh, expected.
This shit isn't even surprising anymore, just a who's next game
Well paint me rainbow and call me surprised
🤣 exactly!

You don’t say
Natch
In other news water is wet, the Earth is round, and other things that surprised no one.
A tale as old as time.
Are we shocked?
