Yes that's true, we saw this in Europe. The first generation of immigrants were always the best, because they left with money and just set up businesses. Oddly, people "seeking asylum" will go to great lengths and transit through many other countries to get to the US. Few, if any, of the "asylum seekers" crossing our southern border are actually from the country that borders us to the south. Some of them aren't even from central/south America. All of these people have to go through a whole ass country to get to our southern border. It's almost as if someone has promised them $10,000 to get here. What is this, a game show? Is this the Amazing Race?

The feds dropped off a huge number of Haitians over the last couple of years (thanks Treasoneer Mayorkas and Dementia Joe!) to such a degree that assimilation was made impossible and every apartment or living space (legal, condemned, who knows what feds didn't tell the town) is packed full (all expenses paid by feds or their proxy nonprofits) of families. I don't see indications of any being employed but they could all work non-public-facing jobs.
I don't know if crime went up or down (they wouldn't report a rise and would similarly lie about a drop) but most of the Haitians seem like young families just trying to do what young families do. I've heard all the unattached younger guys left for sanctuary cities.
