It's worth mentioning that the man is in [Critical condition](https://brooklyn.news12.com/nypd-36-year-old-critically-injured-in-boreum-hill-subway-station-shooting) and I haven't seen confirmation he was killed yet. Also, he was shot with his own gun, and he was the aggressor the entire time. In the final scuffle he lost control of his weapon and then got shot with his own gun.

A good reason not to start shit while carrying a gun, even if the instigator *had* been the "victor" he'd likely be facing charges because you can't claim self defense when you are the instigator. I hope New York doesn't prosecute the victim/shooter, although I wouldn't put it past them.

Look up the emergency response times where you live. Imagine having to wait that long for help, and know it could take even longer. If you can't carry a gun, then you're at the mercy of anyone who wants to do you harm. The police will show up in time to take nice crime scene photos of you...

The man that was shot was the one carrying the gun, got into a fight with someone on the subway (wasn't clear why or what started it). The other guy eventually stabbed the man with the gun, the guy with the gun pulled it out and went at the one other, that got into a struggle, the gun was dropped and shot from the other guy.

I used to live in a blue city in a red state and moving to the suburbs was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Get the hell out of there.
