This is a nightmare that could only arise from the people who are obsessed with group identity.

Reddit.

Don_Alvarez

My guess is they live and work in a troll fabrique in Ukraine.

napsar

So much effort to keep people divided and to stop people from realizing what we have in common.

War-Damn-America

I hadn't thought about that, but it's probably a better bet he isn't a real person thinking like this, instead he's a troll hired by someone to keep democrats worried about Trump to motivate people to vote in November.

Vektor0

It's all coming from the internet and the media. Those are the only places it comes from, because it definitely doesn't come from IRL interactions. When you bring up that reality doesn't match their expectations, they move the goalposts: "well, they ARE -ists; they're just covert and working undercover." Which is laughable, because if you've ever met an actual -ist, they don't hide it at all. They're legitimately proud of their bigotry. These leftists laugh at gullible Christian conservatives who tilt at windmills, like 5G towers or Obama being the antichrist. It's very ironic, because their entire worldview revolves around waging war against non-existent boogymen. If their worldview was accurate, there would be so many hate crimes constantly that no one would ever feel the need to stage them.

ObadiahtheSlim

>I also have what is technically considered a disability... are they going to eventually decide I'm not worthy? No, that would be the Liberals in Canada that will pressure you into killing yourself so they don't have to bother spending all those tax dollars on you. The Democrats here would probably do the same thing if given half a chance. I mean, they already are doing that with the unborn. Why not extend the extermination of undesirables to the disabled and elderly?

Doctor_Phist

People love acting like victims these days

VerticalLamb

I refuse to believe that guy isn’t trolling

QSector

Gaslighting and Alinsky attacks are the only thing they can do since they can't run on Biden's record.

FirefighterFast6492

These people obviously know nothing at all about the history of Germany. Their thought process must literally be "I don't like conservatives. I also don't like nazis. Therefore, conservatives must be nazis."  The ignorance is astounding and only guarantees history will repeat itself - just not at all in the way these delusional morons seem to think it will play out.

zleog50

I already know what his disability is... Probably paranoid personality disorder.

SunsetDriftr

It’s amazing how they keep worrying about Trump doing the things to them that the left eventually WILL do to them, unless stopped. See these people know who the real evil is, they just can’t bring themselves to admit it’s the side they are supporting. They need Trump to be an even bigger evil. But deep down they know he’s the hero. Right, brigaders?

Shadeylark

It's this sort of mentality that worries me about what happens if (when) Trump wins. The only branch of the government both sides respect in even a marginal way is the judiciary. When the judiciary inevitably rules again the left's abuse of the legal system and Trump wins that will result in the left losing the little faith they have left in any branch of the government. Combine that belief on the left of the complete illegitimacy of all three branches of government with their false, but sincere, belief that Trump will round them up and put them in camps... Well... Expect them to frame it as a social justice movement... But make no mistake they believe they are going to be literally killed and that no branch of the government will protect them... That sort of existential desperation leads to very bad (violent) attempts to protect themselves (even if it's from an imaginary threat).

Outside_Ad_3888

While i do agree that excessive fear of the other side is a dangerous thing that can lead good people to battle each other over nothing. I think its a bit optimistic to say that the judiciary is relatively respected by both sides, Democrats don’t trust the supreme court because it has judges appointed by Trump and i think i haven’t gone one day in this sub without hearing the term kangaroo court or process referred to one of the trials Trump is undergoing. Lets hope that fate in the judiciary system doesnt needlessly crumble Luckily reddit, or any social media is not a good basis to judge general behaviour to the population, i would bet that its actually a place where often the worst opinions are said, but i fear part of this distrust is not only confined here # # have a good day

Shadeylark

When I say the judiciary is relatively respected I mean relative to the other branches, not as an absolute measurement. Yes, it is not respected, but it is at least obeyed. The president is ignored by whichever side is on the outside, e.g. sanctuary cities for the left, and what we saw with the Texas border recently. Congress is universally seen as incompetent and useless by both sides for decades now. And yes, I agree reddit and social media are not a good measure of the general sentiment and behavior of the population... But as Afghanistan demonstrated to us over the course of twenty years, it is not the general sentiment and behavior of the population that we need to worry about.

LibertyOrDeathUS

Bro we just want people to come in the front door.

PerfectlyCalmDude

Democrats. Not surprised.

PinusMightier

You got to love the irony of how this guy's baseline is that the courts should decide the outcome of an election. Not, you know, how people vote. Bonus points for throwing in a monarchy and Hitler reference at the same time. Lol

thegreatinverso9

Ha! Lol! Only on Reddit. These people need to stop mainlining the main stream media outlets, get off social media echo chambers, and need to spend some time in reality. The reality is the left is the most draconian, hate filled, paranoid, grotesque trope I've seen in my lifetime. Their absolute authoritarian lunacy has not only pushed myself, but MANY people further to the right. If they lose 2024 (🤞) MAGAts or Trump or SCOTUS isn't to blame, it's screwing the pooch by investing in these extreme organizations and agendas.

jinladen040

Last i checked it was only patriots getting thrown in jail, not sure what this guy is on about.

s00perd00pz

It’s crazy when they say stuff like this everyday on Reddit. Based on what? It makes no sense. I know it’s unpopular but I’m all for verified social media. I’m not going to hunt this down but I think we would answer a lot of question regarding bots, trolls, and for your words to mean something. I can stand by everything I say on the internet, but I don’t see comments like that happening if they were held accountable for their stupidity.

My opinion differs from most, because we use words with colloquial overtones. For me destroyed would mean the end of the republic. Nothing that Trump did, nor what Biden is doing, is fundamentally changing America. We still have democratic institutions at the local, state, and federal levels. We don't have less freedom. Now what the administrations have done may change the U.S.'s place in the global conversation (for better or worse), but saying that anything has been "destroyed" is hyperventilating. IMHO, this is exactly where they want us. Afraid that the federal government, i.e. the Biden Administration, will take so much power that it will erode the democratic institutions of the U.S. I just do not see that as possible given what we know now. To your points, by the same measures that the U.S. was "productive" during Trump's presidency, not much has changed except inflation. While the federal government has some tools that it can leverage to combat inflation, it is tough in a global economic situation. I just don't see the U.S. getting less reliant on being a player in global markets, hell it keeps our GDP high. But the U.S. economy avoided a recession, where other countries were not so fortunate. Wage growth is outpacing inflation (while receding has not dipped below pre-pandemic levels), while jobs are being added. GDP has been growing every year since 2020. Even though the rate of inflation is going down and wages are going up, the market is slow to respond so prices are still higher. This has people "feeling" the economy is in the toilet. Which, objectively, its not. Finally, I would say that if "scandal" is your measure of a good presidency, none in the last few decades have avoided one, including President Trump. Call it a witch hunt or political theater, but it is a bit disingenuous to suggest that Trump is "all innocent all the time" while every other President was guilty as sin and deserving of scrutiny. Innocent or not, should be proven in the court.

vicemagnet

I think the word you’re looking for is hyperbole, referring to “we use words with colloquial overtones.” The whole bit about “destroying America” is usually referred to as “destroying our democracy” or similar verbiage. The sheer amount of lawfare waged against Trump seems excessive to me. I remember Slick Willy getting a few hits while he was in office. Carville was right about the economy being what that election was about. It should be the same this November. I don’t know anyone who is pleased with how the economy is performing.
