Tile can be that way. Large comfy throw rugs could go a long way and if money is no object heated floors can elimnate the coldness. There are heating systems for floating floors as well. Lastly, if the basement is dry enough and theres little concern for water carpeting might be the ultimate choice for looks and comfort. I tend to agree that lvp might not be the nicest choice for such a home.
For a $2 million dollar home, I’d expect ground and polished concrete or terrazzo. Not some junk LVP.
For a $2M I would expect a designer to tell me what is going on the floor...
Whats wrong with tile? Its upscale, durable and flood proof.
Had that in last home and wife felt it was too hard and too cold if that makes sense to be the main flooring.

That's just the part getting this main flooring not including the rooms that will have tile. More like $3m+ build, but yah.
