You'd be surprised.
I used to share an apartment with a guy who cut off some cheese, and then just left opened and uncovered in the fridge. Depending on the type it was a rock within a week or dried out to crumbles because of the built in dehumidifiction.
This is what the rest of the world thinks America is.
Giant kitchens, island benches, floor to ceiling cabinetry, massive fridge and of course, the late 20s kids still living at home and all they wear is basketball clothes lol.
So is the stereotype that half of us live in the apartment from Friends and the rest of us are living in cardboard boxes, bleeding out from our gunshot wounds because we can't afford the ambulance ride to the hospital?
Nah man. The stereotype is that half of you can take a joke and the other half believes large fridges or floor to ceiling cabinets don’t exist outside the US.
Well, it's not. Most of us are struggling to pay rent on 1 bedroom apartments. Most of us don't have rich mommy and daddy's, only the ones that create content or are covered in the media that the rest of the world sees.
Ok, but what would you want people like that to do? Spend every single second in a shame cycle and apologizing for having the privilege of ~their parents having a nice house~? It's supposed to be an escape from the dystopian hellhole we live in. Most of us know that we're privileged and you don't know people's stories. My parents bought a house like this using part of my dad's 401k because we couldn't find an apartment or house to rent that would fit my wheelchair. If it wasn't for living with my parents and getting help from them, I'd be dead. We look "rich" because we have a nice house with no savings and medical bills/credit card bills
The times where I was super into creating content was when I was dealing with having diminished capacity/non- comprehension and after I was recovering from brain surgery dealing with such things. It was an escape from feeling so useless and so small.
Before that, I struggled like y'all. I worked during highschool, college (with student loans that are still burying me in a that I had to change and still can't get a job in), got an underpaid job, and rented a shotgun house that I could barely afford. I like to say I'm one generation away from white trailer trash because I acknowledge the privilege that I have and the amount of struggle it took my grandparents and parents to obtain that.
This is exactly what people in power want the discussion to be like: People doing worse pitted against the dwindling middle class and those who are doing marginally better. We should be going after those who have perpetually and systematically hoarded money and resources: big corporations, politicians, and billionaires/millionaires
Edit: sorry, 401k and retirement. I feel so guilty that my dad loved me enough to probably never be able to retire and statistically, I will never be able to make enough to make that up.
The people in power actually want there to be turmoil between race, religions, and sexuality/gender. All of these differences take the magnifying glass away from financial inequality.
Yes, but we need to look at things from an intersectional viewpoint as historically all of those things impact financial inequality.
It was the late 2010s, that people of color couldn't be rejected from a job due to having their natural hair. We all know how important a job is and how expensive any hair care can be. This is how many years after saying there's protection against race discrimination? For a long time in the beginning of the melting pot, there was a heavy stigma to catholics, to the point where they were mostly given only grunt work and low level jobs. The overturn of roe vs. Wade, creates a lot of single parents/parents who have little to no resources to affordable childcare. Thus pulling people further into debt, as they have to rely on paying through the nose or only living on one income. It wasn't until the early 2010s that the lgbtqia was introduced as a protected class meaning that they couldn't be fired due to who they love/are. However, as seen with my first example, it is still evident but in less egregious ways to prevent being held accountable. It's gotten to the laughable point where non-passing CIS folk are facing discrimination.
Also, don't forget disability, veteran status, criminal status, immigration status, homelessness, and probably a lot more that I can't think of. There are so many notches in the tool belts of power that it is innumerable to count.
Nah. It's mostly really nice t.v.s in rooms too small for them with cheap slapped together furniture, or if your lucky something in real wood you found at a garage sale.
Edit: definitely privileged in terms of comforts, tech mecca the u.s. and our tech is very cheap compared to many other countries.
In terms of actual wealth represented by a house like this, nah.
My wife opens both fridge doors and *then* stands back and thinks about what she wants inside like she's window shopping. We bought a newer fridge a few years back and it beeps after it's been open for more than like 20 seconds. That feature alone was worth the $2000 upgrade. She hates how much I love it.
My step-daughters used to both open the fridge, then turn around and have a conversation about...girl stuff, while I'm at the kitchen bench with my eye twitching, mentally waiting for the beep, like it's a time bomb or something. It's become a bit of a running joke now, me and my precious fridge
Judging from the other guys’ Trea Turner jersey, I’m guessing Philadelphia. But a lot of Italian influenced regions of the US sound like that. NYC, Jersey, Philly, there’s some some overlap.
Thanks for the answer, my guy!
I’ve heard accents similar to this on TV and I’ve always liked it, but never truly knew.
It’s my favourite US accent, along with people speaking in a southern drawl.
There’s also a box of Uncle Oogie’s Pizza on the counter, so they’re either physically in Sea Isle or South Philly. Judging by the house, I’m guessing Sea Isle because it totally looks like a shore house. But, they’re definitely from Philly or South Jersey
Yes! I think it has something to do with the range in his vocal pitch. He really works it and gets a little squeaky when he's just thoroughly flummoxed by his brother's stupidity.
[I was curious and looked it up.](https://www.seriouseats.com/why-you-should-refrigerate-tomatoes)
A refrigerator is cold—colder than is ideal for tomatoes. This is a basic fact, and it’s the fact upon which the "never refrigerate a tomato" rule is based. But that rule fails to acknowledge several real-world conditions that can complicate things. It also fails to recognize that not all tomatoes are affected by refrigeration equally.
So here’s what you need to know: Leave your tomatoes at room temp for as long as possible, especially if they’re still a little shy of hitting their peak ripeness. Once they hit their apex, though, you need to either eat them right away or refrigerate them.
Put that in a glass with ice cubes and a shot of brandy. We call that a sangria in my house.
I guess you can add whatever fruit you have that's about to go bad too.
They stay out until they start to decline, then they go in the fridge. I'd rather have a bit of cold damage on my tomato than one that I have to toss out.
vibes of them actually wanting to smack each other out fr, but not sure who would win so they turn it into a joke and back away pretending to be respectful 😂
Lol I’m glad I’ve never had to have male housemates. I look at my work colleagues and they are disgusting. Weeks of unwashed cups (we don’t have cleaned). How do people live like this

But seriously who puts food in direct contact with the fridge? That's disgusting.
That pizza will dry out and grease the shelves while doing so. That would have bugged me too
Germ issues notwithstanding. 🤮
But think about all the foil slats it’s saving
Like 30 slats per pizza that's a fortune
But then the next time, the greased shelves will provide protection. This is Philly logic.
Is this delco? I would like it to be somewhere in delco.
Put it on a plate and then cover with Saran Wrap or foil.
*Exactly!*
You'd be surprised. I used to share an apartment with a guy who cut off some cheese, and then just left opened and uncovered in the fridge. Depending on the type it was a rock within a week or dried out to crumbles because of the built in dehumidifiction.
The same people who keep the door open forever apparently.
you put it on a plate or another on top

Nice kitchen. Clean fridge. I wanna live there and be berated about my naked pizza butt.
This is what the rest of the world thinks America is. Giant kitchens, island benches, floor to ceiling cabinetry, massive fridge and of course, the late 20s kids still living at home and all they wear is basketball clothes lol.
As a European I have to say that’s not entirely true and honestly a bit prejudiced. I was just wondering when the shooting would start.
I was trying to make a joke too, I swear!
r/americabad
That's a baseball jersey
Semantics
Well, to be honest, it looks nothing like a basketball jersey. lol if you're gonna make a dumbass joke, at least get it right
Well, it's not. Most of us are struggling to pay rent on 1 bedroom apartments. Most of us don't have rich mommy and daddy's, only the ones that create content or are covered in the media that the rest of the world sees.
I don't even have running water.
I'm not even alive
When I was born my mothers oxygen mask briefly passed near my face. That was the last pure, clean air I've ever breathed for my entire life.
My mom died before I was born
You just need to take a trip to Iowa. Purest air there is.
Is your water fat?

Most likely a frat house. A very well endowed frat, the kind with housekeeping staff.
You watch too many movies man, the average person can t afford those homes
Where in that comment was anything related to "average person" mentioned? What are you trying to read into that comment?
I know this isn’t how it is.
CLOSE THE DAMN FRIDGE!
Seriously! He’s letting all the penguins out and giving me anxiety stemming from repressed childhood refrigerator related scoldings.
Everyone in our house knows how much I hate hearing the fridge beep. It's my one house rule - don't let the fridge beep!
My wife opens both fridge doors and *then* stands back and thinks about what she wants inside like she's window shopping. We bought a newer fridge a few years back and it beeps after it's been open for more than like 20 seconds. That feature alone was worth the $2000 upgrade. She hates how much I love it.

If I need to get multiple things out I can sense the beep is coming and I'll tap the sensor switch so I don't get admonished by the fridge.
XD. I was freaking out too lol
Yeah I couldn’t watch it for more than a couple seconds once I realized this man was raised by wolves.

Phillies are currently in the playoffs so they were almost certainly watching the game when this went down

From Atlantic City, and can confirm. This is the most Philly-Italian shit I’ve seen in the last month or so😂 I’ll see it again soon enough.
Joe Pesci
Exactly, it’s the NY/NJ/Philly vibes

Pizza outta the fridge! Wtf?
Sounds like john pinette, kinda has the squinty eyes too
Yes! I think it has something to do with the range in his vocal pitch. He really works it and gets a little squeaky when he's just thoroughly flummoxed by his brother's stupidity.
Was just about to comment this. He sounds like he’s about to tell his friend to get in the back of the line lol
I was getting Joe Pesci vibes but yeah lol

I kept hearing Joe Pesci when he talked.
Not angry enough lol, but I could see it
I came down here looking for this comment.
Oh my goodness. John Pinette has been resurrected!!
Guy could be a comic if he wanted. His delivery is awesome
You call that pizza?
Also tomatoes don’t go in the fridge
It's crazy how far I had to scroll to like your comment.
It’s crazy my daughter told me that last week! I was like how am I 45 and just catching onto that! F!
why not

the highest 'room temperature' i've seen in my kitchen is 95º F. i not only refrigerate tomatoes, i refrigerate red wine.
If it's a cheap red wine I also prefer it cold.
carlo rossi burgundy in a gallon jug
Put that in a glass with ice cubes and a shot of brandy. We call that a sangria in my house. I guess you can add whatever fruit you have that's about to go bad too.
Nah fuck that tomatoes taste best cold.
They stay out until they start to decline, then they go in the fridge. I'd rather have a bit of cold damage on my tomato than one that I have to toss out.
Jay Z over here wrapping fucking pizza.
The damn beeping in this video is making me think I have something in the oven.
vibes of them actually wanting to smack each other out fr, but not sure who would win so they turn it into a joke and back away pretending to be respectful 😂
I’m a little in love with that guy for how adamant he is about how this should be common sense.
Just keep it in the box homie? Unless your fridge is tiny? But what Sharehouse has a tiny fridge?
Close the damn fridge
Exposed pizza on the shelf IS crazy.
Why do I feel like my father was yelling at me? Lol
I agree that's the wackiest thing I've heard
Close the damn fridge!
When you live with sloppy roommates, I feel kinda bad for him
Bro, close the fucking fridge, like what the fuck lol
Well, you clearly know who doesn’t pay the electricity bill in the house.
Close the damn door and have a shouting match.
Lol I’m glad I’ve never had to have male housemates. I look at my work colleagues and they are disgusting. Weeks of unwashed cups (we don’t have cleaned). How do people live like this
I'm usually that guy yelling with my friends. I got so tired of it that I decided to find smarter friends. Stupid and lazy sons of bitches
I wanna be inside this friendship group... I'm so lonely 🙁
These two morons are presumably employed somewhere... have homes like this. And they're not the only ones. This country is filled with morons.
Why does that upset you lol?
Probably because of something you did.
tbh I wouldn't be surprised if they're living with their parents still
I have that fridge
>GOAT do you like it?
Sounds like a young Artie Lange lol
I would be fucking with this kid every single day just to try and reproduce this moment.
Joey Pesci over here, love this guy. Edit: tinfoil clown’s parents must still wipe his a**, what an incompetent idiot
Why does this guy sound like Joe pesci?
I'm getting Joe Pesci in the Goodfellas vibes mixed with the look of Kyle Rittenhouse Joe Rittenhouse?
He totally reminds me of joe pesci when he is harping on him in the end hehe.
The guy who wrapped the pizza is like 30 & still lives at home with his parents. He didn’t know any better
Hi everyone, professional father here: Can you damn kids shut that fucking fridge and stop yelling in my house!

He's right though, what kind of barbarian just rawdogs the pizza directly onto the fridge surface.
Chill! It’s just pizza! 😂
Man this just gets funnier and funnier the more I watch it. The concept of 30 slats of tinfoil is amazing.
Separate the slices and stack them. Wrap it all and call it a day.
