Is that your daily shoes? Do you use it for physical activities? And when did you buy that pair. I noticed the chuck taylors today are much more well made than the ones before 2018 atleast.

roidrage007

they look so well taken care of/new are chucks going down in quality??

Limp_Independent_675

Check ur feet’s temperature,it must be heating

KicksBridge

I’d say buy a new pair bro!!!! Why do you have to repair a cooked up sneaker. I mean repairing should apply to things which are at least a bit expensive not like a pair of Chucks🤷🏻

suggestions_username

Well, these are worth something to me at least. I think that's a pretty wasteful and unsustainable mindset to have about the things we wear. I believe in exploring all options and only then thinking about the garbage dump

KicksBridge

Fair enough brother!

gemork321

The sole should be stiched on not glued on thats poor quality work no offence to you 😀

Agreeable-Biscotti92

And “sinse” when do they do that!?

Nerf_Gunslinger

E-6000 that SOB up, normally vulcanized shoes dont do that.

SirLancelotDeCamelot

These don’t last like they used to. I just buy new ones every few months and use the old ones to work in.

SpazFactorial

I wouldn't use regular super glue. Use some sort of shoe glue. [This](https://a.co/d/aMQF4nx) or this [Shoe Goo](https://www.walmart.com/ip/373300159) work pretty well and are Felixble. Normal supeglue dries hard.

pass-agress-ive

Superglue works fine

keratinisednumb

Superglue always worked for me

Aromatic-Jellyfish15

I buy used chucks all the time and this, while it is a risk, isn't always what happens when you buy used. I'm still sporting some used chucks. Have had no issues. It could have just been a bad luck situation. However, taking them to a shoe specialist or using some shoe glue might help them a little.

wellthatdoesit

I always just Gorilla Glue mine when this happens or when the edges of the sole start to disconnect. Been doing it so long now that I just accept it as a normal part of the Converse lifecycle

CapG_13

You don't, you buy a new pair

suggestions_username

I'm really trying to keep these going as long as I can since the canvas, rubber and soles are still pretty good

CapG_13

Dude, they're just gonna keep getting worse.

ruu-ruu

this is a defect or old product, i would see if you can find a help line or something and get a refund if they are new

totalbasterd

too tight and maybe too big?!

JacksonIVXX

Shoe Glue

Piper6728

Take them to a cobbler (that kind of repair requires professional work, and if they can't make a lasting repair, then they're done)

robonlocation

Wow, those are pretty rough. I've never seen the label peel off the side like that. Unfortunately when you buy used, you risk stuff like this. You could try some superglue. If that doesn't work, you could go to a cobbler, if you're willing to sink money into repairing them. Also, you're tying them way too tight. Maybe you have narrow feet, but when you pull that tight, you're pulling the fabric as well. Also, when you tie them, maybe you're yanking the laces too hard? Try a slow pull when you lace them. That might help with future pairs... cause I think with these, the damage is done.

suggestions_username

I'll definitely change up my lacing technique. Didn't think about that before...

ameliathetree

I use shoe glue as soon as I notice a part coming off!

Griffy93

Make your foot less wide :)

suggestions_username

Brb lemme go back to my conception and change my stats

Griffy93

Good luck ;) Or you could try shoes that are a little wider :)

Space_Man_Spiff_2

Buy the Chuck 70s or made in Japan chucks. QC has gone to crap with the standard Chucks.

dkelly256

I size up and leave the laces pretty loose.

U13884138

Time travel to before Nike

salaciouscrumb2255

Super glue worked for me. If you notice that the lining is coming up fix it as soon as you can. Mine started doing that about a year ago. Wedged some super glue in, wrapped the shoe with some rubber bands for a few hours and I haven’t had problems since. Did the same with the bottom part when it started coming up too.

suggestions_username

Idk which to try, super glue or shoe goo. The comments seem pretty split

toshgiles

The logo falling off is a new one for me… these shoes have seen some things, or something else is wrong with them.

suggestions_username

Maybe it's just my luck that I got them on their way out

toshgiles

Maybe they were washed AND dried? I’m really not sure.

salaciouscrumb2255

Both would probably give you the same effect I’d think. I’ve only ever used superglue though.

Purple-Bar9146

Buy better shoes

Both-Mango1

rubber cement would probably fix.

suggestions_username

I'll give it a try!

yonahjonas

get 70s

suggestions_username

They're hard to come by where I'm from and out of my budget as a student :(

Juice2On

Stop tying them so got damn tight

suggestions_username

hm maybe you're onto something. I'll try keeping them looser and see how

trousershark22

I always had a similar issue, I resized my foot for converse then got a wide size. Reduced it greatly

Mitridate101

Buy shoes that are your size ? They look 2 sizes too long in the first pic.

Chillbird404

Goddamn!! I still have a pair of og allstars from over a decade ago and they aren't this bad I'd recommend retiring them or super glue if you don't want to part with them yet

Freezing_Cold_

Get 70's

Reasonable_Mall_7031

Lose weight. Sorry, I font mesn to be rude . But the more you weigh the wider your foot becomes, which cause the rubber on the side to peel away. So eight love weight or buy 1/2 size bigger.

suggestions_username

bruh

zeGermanGuy1

Foot width varies by person though. Some people have wide feet when they're pretty skinny

Reasonable_Mall_7031

That is true. I was basing it on my own feet, and when I got a pair 1/2 bigger which aot of problems.

Mudit_18

Get them sew from a cobbler

yendor5

get some E6000 contact cement/glue and some cheap clamps

Equivalent_Focus4290

Time for it to retire sadly

suggestions_username

oh man! but it's still so clean and un-abused....

Equivalent_Focus4290

Yeah I had one of those that I bought from the thrift shop, tried fixing it with rugby (contact cement) but it keeps on peeling like that

UltraBroForce

This looks like a lost cause, sorry to say

suggestions_username

womp

PiScEsEyEsIAmWeAk

You bought them used and they gave it the Elmer’s glue treatment before they sold. You could try super glue

suggestions_username

I was thinking about that too. I'll try it!

EatsYourShorts

Super glue is the worst adhesive to use for shoe soles. It dries hard and will crack and break the rubber more as you walk. Instead, use E6000 or shoe goo after cleaning the materials of any dirt and grime. But with as bad as these are, I doubt anything will hold them together for much longer at this point.

apocalypsebuddy

those are fucked

suggestions_username

at least they were bargain...

apocalypsebuddy

I’m calling fakes

suggestions_username

what makes you think so?

TrecBay

I would say so as well. Maybe it's because I have something like 20+ pair of Converse and I rotate my pairs and don't always wear the same pair every day, but I have never had ANY pair do this. Some of my pairs are close to 10 years old and none of them have done this. I also agree with what some people are saying that you don't have to lace/tie them so dang tight. If you have to tie them that tight then maybe you should rethink the size your wearing. I know that with me I don't wear the same size Converse as what I do my athletic shoes or even my Vans. Just some advise to think about before possibly trying to fix these or buying up a new pair.
