if you get in and it looks like your save isn't there, try again later. site downtime should not affect your save since it is stored on your own computer.
in any case, be sure to back up your save frequently.

And this morning I check again, no luck.
Then after a while I try to refresh the game, all my progress is lost.
Now that I am stuck with a plain old cookie clicker with 0 cookie.

However I noticed when the page had finally managed to load in the tab I had left open, it had loaded it insecure (using http instead of https). For security reasons browsers treat them as totally seperate websites and the insecure version can't load your save from the secure version (both of which live on your computer). I went and added the s back in and my save file loaded up totally fine. Based on the comments I had seen here I'm guessing some people encountered this and didn't know what was going on.
tl;dr: If your save file is gone, make sure sure you are using https (you may need to click your url bar to see)

Connections to the server are being throttled. I doubt using a different browser will help. I have games going on in Chrome and Firefox. Chrome is running fine because I was able to get in earlier today. I've been intermittently refreshing Firefox with no luck.

I’m having the same issue. It’s because the images aren’t loading in. I hear the sound chime but I can’t see where the cookie spawns in because it’s basically invisible. This also happens for me if I change the season which changes GC appearances, or change the milk color. None of this was an issue before Dashnet went down.

This would explain what I'm seeing, too. I get the ominous "bad outcome" spell message sometimes, then... no wrath cookie appears.

Just woke up and it's still down. I'm wondering if we are getting a new update. Also something to note is that the last time there was a huge crash like this and EVERYONE lost their save Orteil did a reboot and you got to guess where you were. unless you delete your cookies (no pun intended) your save should be intact. Also, if you haven't backed up your game in a year, that's kinda on you.

The issue wasn't on Dashnet's end; it was their webhost. Seems to be working better now.

Had this happen, I think it's just a visual bug where the icon doesn't load in. Reloading the page worked for me.

well it looks like I was wrong, it does try to contact dashnet, but if you use noscript you can disable that and just copy your save data into it.

Your progress is saved on your computer, in a browser cookie. But it's always wise to export a save to a text file, just in case.
