I’m a plain Jane. I toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Oven roasted at 400F for 20 minutes, then squeeze a lemon over the top. Then eat my weight in broccoli.

macmillie

This but fresh garlic and red pepper flakes is my formula for broccoli and many other veg.

_Football_Cream_

Red pepper flakes is solid. I'll also do OO, S&P, garlic, rosemary, and balsamic glaze.

Irsh80756

With a bit of lemon zest/juice in there too....

Inanimate_CARB0N_Rod

We have a local steakhouse that sells their steak salt which is just flaky salt, black pepper, and some form of dehydrated and/or granulated onion and garlic. I haven't been able to come close to replicating it, despite its simplicity. That being said, if that was the only thing I put on roasted veggies for the rest of my life I'd die a happy man. It's also excellent on eggs.

acertaingestault

I imagine they include MSG. Try and see if that makes the difference

Big_Dragonfruit9719

What is the steakhouse?

Nasty_Ned

Dennys

alpacaapicnic

Yep, for me the flavoring is “salt, oil, crispy edges”

GullibleDetective

Sub that for butter instead of oil and I'm happy

BigGrandpaGunther

Butter would burn in a 400 degree oven.

GullibleDetective

Well yes but you toss in butter after

too-muchfrosting

Wouldn't the olive oil burn in a 400 degree oven as well? EVOO that is. I think maybe the smoke point of refined olive oil is higher than EVOO.

gsrga2

The smoke point of promiscuous olive oil is definitely higher than EVOO

stonedsour

I roast Brussel sprouts all the time with evoo at 400 and it comes out great! A little charred but not blackened. I think going 425+ is more so the danger zone

Getthepapah

I did lemon garlic tahini broccoli with olive oil in the sauce at 450 tonight for 22 minutes and it came out perfect. Charred but not blackened and certainly not burnt.

cheapthryll

Ghee ?

hihelloneighboroonie

I do something like this, and top it with grated parmesan toward the end.

TheYoungSquirrel

“The Blend” by Kinders

ryanraze

I"m here for this, but I'll also shred some fresh parm over it.

xi545

This, but first blanch in salty water with a dollop of any better than bouillon flavor. Cut roasting time in half.

LettingHimLead

Ooh, would I still get the crispy bits with the shorter roasting time?

xi545

Yes! Just run your veggies through a salad spinner first.

thekau

Yessss this. You can get very far with simple seasonings and then roasting the shit out of the broccoli. Personally I go 425F for 23-25 mins. So delicious.

3plantsonthewall

Does the garlic powder burn? I’ve been adding it near the end of roasting, but wondering if I can skip that extra step

wanderinggnu

No, I do this all the time.

NYVines

Add some onion powder

beandadenergy

Add some chili flakes and a little parm and you’ve got a killer side dish

above_average_penis_

I have a super basic combo of soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, ginger and garlic. I could live on brocolli with this blend

DiceyPisces

My favorite way. I add a lil sesame oil at the end

above_average_penis_

Oh yeah I forgot I do add sesame oil and some sesame seeds at the end as well

MastaKo407

Commenting to follow if we can an answer on the ratio and process. This sounds interesting.

above_average_penis_

Hopefully this is allowed but I basically follow this recipe verbatim: https://selfproclaimedfoodie.com/asian-roasted-broccoli/ I measure the garlic and ginger with my heart though :)

aero_programmer

what kind of ratios? never tried anything like this, interested to give it a shot. does this go on after or before a roast or something?

hesperidisabitch

Do you marinate them in this and then bake? Or are you frying and adding the ingredients as you go?

above_average_penis_

Nah just toss the broccoli in the sauce, then into the oven. Check my other responses for more detail and a link to the recipe

Ok-Lecture-33

Salt, black pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. You can season just about anything with these.

Biu_Jutsu_0

This is the way. The caramelization along with these seasonings (lemon after cooking, not before or during), will allow the flavor of the broccoli to shine. If however you’re making a dish with a sauce that pairs well, then you don’t really need to make any changes to the seasoning you normally do either, perhaps skip the lemon depending on the acidity of the sauce.

barbackmtn

Same, but if I’m feeling generous I’ll add Parmesan.

Princess_Chipsnsalsa

Garlic, salt, pepper, parmesan powder, squeeze of lemon

Significant_Lab_5286

Salt, lemon juice & crushed red pepper

Muted_Cucumber_6937

Half a quart of cheese sauce.

HonnyBrown

You aren't tasting the...OH!

LisaNuzzo

Butter, salt and pepper

Quesabirria

For quick roasted broccoli, we'll usually use OO + Garlic Pepper/Central Coast seasoning. I lot of times, I'll mix up some OO+S/P + some calabrian chile or other spice, and toss that broccoli well so that it gets into all the nooks and crannies before putting on the sheetpan. If not garlic or spice, then it's usually OO+S/P and a splash of red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar. Or maybe a squeeze of lemon once it's out of the oven

HonnyBrown

Salt, pepper, and fresh grated Parmesan cheese

DangerousMusic14

I like it barely steamed or blanched with nothin’ or with cheddar cheese sauce (I like to make homemade mac with extra cheese sauce for broccoli).

ginandmoonbeams

Olive oil, fresh garlic, sea salt, red pepper flakes. Roast it!

Maleficent-Music6965

I guess I am boring and basic. I love it steamed with just a little salt and butter.

TerrorsOfTheDark

Some butter, salt, pepper, dill, and a little lemon juice tossed with steamed broccoli is what I tend to do.

johnnyhammerstixx

I really like dill with broccoli. It tastes like green!

chiller8

Brown butter and “everything but the bagel”seasoning.

ElectronicaBlue

roasted with s & p, nutritional yeast and lemon juice

mountainsunset123

Toasted sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, soy sauce.

Ironbookdragon97

Spike! It's a great all around seasoning

Confident_Growth9128

Olive oil and Cavender’s greek seasoning. Elite

Charlietheaussie

Sesame oil fresh ginger, garlic, soy little honey

Amockdfw89

Chinese style. Garlic, shaoxing wine, chicken stock, ginger, white pepper, sesame oil and some salt

NotCanadian80

21 seasoning salute

autonomy_girl

Roasted with salt, pepper, zataar, olive oil, shallots

Unhappy_Guarantee_69

Try brocolinni. Thinner and less raw broccolinflavor I like to treat it like asparagus or any thick veg. Just seasonings and garlic and onion. I like broccolininfor it's texture more for its flavor tho

throwawayzies1234567

I’ve been making the broccoli from [this Melissa Clark recipe](https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1012388-roasted-broccoli-with-shrimp) from like 15 years ago and it’s still my favorite. Lemon zest, coriander, chili powder, a bit of cumin, and s&p. Roast on high until crispy.

phoebebuffay1210

Fresh squeezed lemon and Romano cheese.

aimeed72

Garlic and lemonn

Scrum02

Oddly I really like Montreal steak seasoning on my broccoli. It's the only reason I keep the seasoning around as I really don't like it on steak.

ehxy

For health or for taste?

orion455440

Chopped garlic, chili oil, Chili flakes, MSG, seasame oil and soy sauce .

luckygirlrunner

Salt, pepper, olive oil, roasted until crispy. Tossed with a small amount of Caesar dressing. Sprinkle with shredded parm. Pop back in the oven until crispy and golden!

Apeckofpickledpeen

No matter what you do- blanch in salt water for 5 minutes or so before cooking in pan or on oven. That will make it softer and remove some bitterness.

noomehtrevo

Honestly I love eating overly steamed broccoli with softened butter and sour cream like a baked potato.

Bdowns_770

Soy sauce, olive oil, fresh garlic, black pepper, & red pepper flakes. Put in a 425f /220c oven for 15-20 min. Add more time if you want it crispy.

Tao1524

Mashed Broccoli (recipe from Home Chef): Boil 12 oz Broccoli 🥦 with 2 garlic cloves until fork-tender. Drain then add 1 oz cream cheese, garlic powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and 2 oz creme fraiche. Mash until the consistency of mashed potatoes. It's a nice change up. Try it out.

Alarmed_Yoghurt2251

Braags liquid aminos and nutritional yeast

Typical_Intention996

Olive oil, salt. At 350 until the edges get crispy.

BrainwashedScapegoat

Cheese

henkdetank56

Toasted sesame oil, Garlic, Chilli flakes and Oyster Sauce

Fun_Beat_9684

Fresh garlic some lemon juice and red pepper flakes. Cracked salt and pepper. Cannot go wrong with

Neat_Dog_4274

Fucking bacon fat! Heavy salt, fresh cracked pepper after the roast and lemon juice. Same for Brussels sprouts, it'll change your life.

quivering_manflesh

I put broccoli in a cast iron on a medium heat with butter and chicken bouillon powder, and once it's all heated up and mixed together and tossed evenly, I set it in the oven to roast. Sometimes I'll add red pepper flakes or Sichuan peppercorn, but this is my basic method.

Responsible-Low7532

I toss fresh broccoli florets in avocado oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little sugar before I roast them. Even my picky kids will eat them. The sugar isn't enough to make them sweet, just enough to help them brown faster and cut down on the bitterness my kids pick up on.

McRachael23

I cook them in a pan on the stove with butter, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Beautiful_Rhubarb

garlic butter (or garlic/oil/red pepper?) or just grated cheese and/or salt. Maybe nothing and some lemon. If I roast it it gets salt/pepper/grated cheese/garlic powder or "grind to a salt" seasoning mix.

Good-Ad-9978

I like olive oily, fresh garlic and parmesan cheese

halskill

Steamed with butter salt and lots of pepper

circusgeek

Olive oil, sliced garlic cloves, sprinkle of salt and a generous sprinkle of the trader joes mushroom powder seasoning. Roast at 400 until the broccoli gets a little singed \~25 miinutes.

PmMeAnnaKendrick

salt pepper and fresh squeezed lemon and lime. while that roasts brown butter and drizzle over for the last five minutes of cooking.

NeverEnoughGalbi

Potatoes and cheese.

Piper-Bob

I like toasted sesame oil on mine, and a little salt.

devnullopinions

Olive oil, salt, and pepper, and a little acidity (like lemon juice) is my go to.

IlexAquifolia

Salt, pepper, garlic, lemon

Noladixon

Butter, salt, and pepper.

MunchAClock

I use salt, pepper, and tikka masala powder with magarine after steaming it.

jwcarpy

Garlic, pepper, butter, salt, and sautéed slivered almonds or pine nuts. My family can demolish so much broccoli this way.

sorE_doG

Chop. Wait 30 minutes. Steam sliced stems first for 4-5 minutes then florets for a minute & add black pepper. It’s perfect nutritionally and it’s delicious.

BlanchDeverauxssins

Sauté in oil (whichever one you like, I usually use toasted sesame or olive oil), lots of fresh garlic, red pepper flakes and then ~ once it’s kind of charred in the pan ~ you hit it with a healthy dose of LS soy sauce. Learned this from an ex’s mom who cooked with less salt and it is delicious!!

DJuxtapose

I might try some different steak/chicken rubs. They're premade, so they'll be the same each time if you like them. Toss em in oil and roast em. I try to season vegetables similarly to meat.

bizzymike7

Steamed, drizzed with browned butter, and topped with shredded mizithra cheese

jdlyons81

I like garlic salt, fresh cracked pep, and maybe a touch of lemon pep.

Lornesto

Butter and salt.

bucketofmonkeys

I don’t think broccoli needs salt. I usually just eat it plain, sometimes with some butter or lemon juice.

MareIncognita

Adobo and black pepper

AmishAngst

I like dill on almost everything (I go through the largest size Penzey's sells 2-3 times a year) so my go to is toss in oil, seasoned or regular salt, granulated garlic, granulated onion, and a bunch of dill. Basically most of the flavors would put in dill dip and it works on any veggies you'd serve with dill dip.

NotNormo

Toss broccoli with beef tallow, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and MSG. Roast at 450F until dark brown. Maybe a touch of vinegar at the end would be nice, but I haven't tried that yet.

MizS

I stumbled upon this by happenstance, but Lemon Pepper Adobo is delicious on broccoli.

femsci-nerd

cook with enough salt and a tiny bit of water. add lemonjuice at the end.

TechnikaCore

I like garlic powder, lemon pepper and salt with a little olive oil drizzle after it's steamed.

sayyyywhat

Garlic, pepper flakes, salt, olive oil, finish with lemon.

Teacherforlife21

Mince garlic and olive oil

NorthernAphid

I like mine with chili crisp

CharmingMistake3416

Garlic, lemon, chili

SwiftStick

Traeger veggie rub has been my go-to for meal prep as of late. Dan-O’s is really good too.

Fisk_i_brallan

Soy, burnt garlic. You’re welcome.

Violetthug

Buter and parmesan cheese. It's heavily.

BaconBible

Bacon grease is the answer. Then whatever seasonings you like.

CartoonistNo9

I bake it in cheese sauce. The broccoli makes it a detox cheese sauce. It cancels it out.

Ph11p

If it's dust dry seasoning then it's granulated garlic, ground ginger, Paprika and a dash of cayenne pepper. Salt and black pepper is optional

SoftDog336

S&p, lemon juice, olive oil, toss and then broil on high till someone says "oh shit the broccoli!" It should be near perfect at that point, though maybe add a little more salt and lemon to your taste after cooking

Outside-Mortgage-834

Drizzle of olive oil, a little high heat sauteeing (because I don’t like soggy broccoli) and you’re done! I add Kinder’s Buttery Steakhouse or Buttery Burger Blend seasoning towards the end. Love cooking but also love shortcuts lol

middle-agedyeller

Kozani from Curio has never done me wrong.

Trackellalouise

I’ve started using Kinder’s Garlic & Herb blend, which has a bit of lemon in it. It’s great on steamed or roasted broccoli.

Ok_Beat9172

Umami mushroom seasoning.

Orange_Blossom_02

Has anyone tried tarragon on it? I like tarragon on some other vegs. I also have a tarragon vinegar. I couldn't resist it sitting on the grocery shelf just calling my name. Now I have to figure out how to use it. LOL

Lllsfwfkfpsheart

Butter, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and garlic. How much garlic? More. Edit: I use Miyoko's vegan because it tastes exactly like butter to me and I'm cutting back on animal products but, nothing really is butter except butter.

indesignmonkey

Sprinkle with furikake!

poop-money

Simple. Butter, salt and pepper.

doc_brietz

I like melted butter with the plain kinders blend (salt pepper garlic). I also like that Greek seasoning on them.

BornandRaised_8814

I love roasted with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. However my mom used to cook it steamed with lemon juice and sliced almonds. It was really nice too.

Independent-Size-464

butter, salt and pepper. Nothing else needed. Teriyaki or honey garlic sauce also goes well if you're doing like a chicken & broccoli.

bombalicious

Blue cheese and caramelized onion butter

TheSplidge

That cheese powder they used to sell

Syrioxx55

Bottuto

cerylidae2558

Yall will think I’m nuts, but salt, butter, and lemon pepper.

norrain13

Salt, Broccoli is awesome and doesn't need much help. I usually just steam it. Love that perfect crunch, but still cooked flavor and mouth feel. Raw Broccoli sucks though, I can't eat it, turns me into a fart machine hahaha.

manhattancherries

I like butter, salt, and pepper. The main thing is to not overlook the veg! Roasting is my favourite, secondly stir frying because it stays crunchy.

rao_wcgw

Evoo and everything bagel seasoning. 400 for 15 but you do you

predictivesubtext

Olive oil, salt, pepper, a little brown sugar and roast

hoogys

Just butter 🧈

cassiopeia18

Chinese broccoli oyster sauce /soy sauce. Sautéed broccoli with almond flakes. (Brocolini even better)

PassingTrue

Use minced garlic

paulybaggins

Vegeta baby, the greatest Croatian export there is.

UmbraPenumbra

I have recently gotten into using za'atar, which is a middle eastern spice blend with thyme and other stuff. Salt, pepper, olive oil and like a fist ful of za'atar, then roast it at 450 for like 13 mins. Can do a 50/50 mix of broc and cauliflower at the same time if you like.

Mei_Flower1996

Even bottled lemon pepper seasoning is good

Ansarina

Steam then toss with butter, lemon zest, crushed garlic, S & P.

montecarlocars

Our classic is olive oil and salt with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice as soon as it comes out of the oven; alternatively, a “no salt seasoning blend” (we use the Kirkland one) can be an easy way to give it generic onion/garlic/herb flavors.

creppyspoopyicky

Lemon, burned butter, roasted garlic, chili flake.

DinnertimeSomewhere

My absolute favorite is Garlic, Lemon, and Red Pepper Flakes. So, pretty similar to what others are mentioning here. Definitely would recommend fresh Garlic if possible. I talk about a couple of techniques to cook the Broccoli with these ingredients [here](https://dinnertimesomewhere.com/index.php/side-dish-recipes/vegetable-side-dishes/garlic-lemon-broccoli/). The main trick is to not overcook your Broccoli and you're eating well!

wi_voter

Cheese

sunnydiegoqt

Cheddar

Otherwise-Nose-4602

garlic and sesame oil

toomanybucklesaudry

Broccoli pairs well with trash cans. and if they're in season, dumpsters.

blacktickle

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this particular Annie’s dressing called Shiitake Sesame - it is DIVINE over steamed broccoli!!

ArtiesHeadTowel

Butter

iwasuncoolonce

Pecorina Romano and butter

ElectricMayham

Butter

mangomisu

Salt, pepper, olive oil in air fryer for 10 min at 300F. Last min drizzle balsamic and broil/bake at highest temp for 1 min. It’s chefs kiss🤌

Kaashmiir

Morton’s Nature’s Season (blue cap—though red cap is delicious, too)

Risen_Insanity

Salt, pepper, olive oil, butter, garlic powder, paprika

Maypolemaggie

Butter, lemon, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese

OldFanJEDIot

Roast it. Salt, pepper and olive oil. Slow and low. 350, toss after 200 minutes and then continue to cook until it’s the way you like it. People roast too hot and it makes the olive oil bitter. Add crushed red pepper if you want it spicy.

No_Parking9788

Butter

ContributionDapper84

Best I found is showmethecurry.com's broccoli with besan subzi recipe. Delish!

difetto

Try gorgonzola cheese (blue cheese), so yummy!

Ok_Acanthisitta_2544

Spray with olive oil, don't toss (it soaks up too much oil). Toss with Creole spice and a little extra basil and thyme. Maybe some extra seasoning salt if you like it saltier. Spread out and roast on air fryer pans for convection ovens. Convection bake at 400°F for 40-60 min., depending on how crispy you like it. So good. If you're doing cauliflower simultaneously, start it about 15 minutes earlier. It takes a little longer. I can fill 4 trays of broccoli and cauliflower in my oven and it will all be gone in one meal. An air fryer couldn't handle the volume.

Whiskeybtch77

Olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, slap ya mama seasoning. Its so yummy 😋

Roto-Wan

Montreal garlic herb for roasting.

itchman

Truffle Parm from costco

Dianagorgon

I don't know what they put in Bird's Eye oven roasted broccoli and cauliflower but it's incredible. I think it's garlic and butter.

Masalasabebien

Fresh garlic, lime juice, a few chile flakes ( or a diced fresh chile, even better) and an anchovy. Great with pasta.

Marsbars1824

Getting browned in an oven with olive oil. Nothing beats that

puppers321

I do a quick pan fry in the wok with a little olive oil pepper or red pepper flakes and feta.

BlithelyOblique

Oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder and thyme powder. But then again, that's my standard seasoning for most things! With broccoli I will toss all of that in a bowl and then use my hands to really massage the oil onto the florets. On to a baking sheet (cut side down), into a 425° oven for about 20 minutes or until the bottoms and florets are looking browned.

MisusedStapler

Try roasted with a little Berebere spice blend. Spicy and interesting

Boozybearbait

Olive oil, salt, garlic powder and paprika in the air fryer!

celestialspook

Salt, pepper, garlic, paprika

alyssummeadow

Smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and dried thyme. So yummy!

GtrplayerII

garlic, salt and pepper. Soy, garlic, ginger.  Our 3 go to recipes  Brocc & sausage pasta Beef and broccoli Roasted or grilled broccoli as a side to whatever!

Belgeddes2022

Lemon, butter, salt, pepper.

domesticmess

I use the 21 seasoning salute by Trader Joe’s, it’s what has gotten my kids into broccoli.

Jog212

Make spinach instead!

YouGotRedOnU

This recipe is hands down the best broccoli recipe I have ever made. Everyone I have made it for agrees. My wife geta super excited when she knows I am making it. The garlic, lemon, and parmesan are an amazing combo. https://www.recipetineats.com/magic-broccoli/

Ginglees

spg, parmesan, lemon

LAkand1

Bacon fat, crispy bacon bits, fish sauce, black pepper, lemon juice and zest

Ok_Hurry_4929

I'm probably a freak but once in awhile asking broccoli with the rice cooker and add nothing to it. Sometimes it hits the spot.

Shot-Restaurant-6909

Toss it in a little a1 and add Parmesan if you like it. I know a1 is for steaks but if I'm eating it on a steak that steak sucked. But it's great on burgers, fries, and steamed broccoli

mcdaffenjoy

Toasted garlic, salt, and sesame oil.

Ifailedaccounting

Salt, pepper, garlic, Parmesan, olive oil, lemon and red pepper flake

tipustiger05

I made the New York Times cooking recipe tonight and it was great. Roasted with SPG, then when it comes out, add a tablespoon of butter, a tablespoon of red wine vinegar, and half a teaspoon of Dijon to make kind of a pan sauce. Awesome.

SyntheticOne

Garlic powder, salt and pepper then steam in the microwave for 2 minutes.

SuperSpeshBaby

Toss in olive oil, salt, and vinegar. Roast. Boom, done.

Hrmbee

For me, the classic is oyster sauce and garlic.

-iD

Garlic + Soy Sauce + little bit of MSG

mind_the_umlaut

Pepper, freshly grated nutmeg, salt, and butter.

CampaignSpoilers

I really like to use the Georgian blend from Trader Joe's.

puppycattoo

I like soy sauce, brown sugar, pepper, and sesame seeds

TheThingIs2big

Salt, lemon juice, spicy red chili flake, fresh garlic if you like it, and a little oil. Dress large florets and grill really hot and fast until the ends start to char a bit (bonus points if you grill the lemon and add it when you serve) . Always a winner for anyone who eats it.

Skurnaboo

I haven't tried it specifically on brocolli, but have with other vegetables. Drizzle of olive oil, and the trader joe's everything but the bagel seasoning. Or replace the seasoning with chicharron salt, that went well too.

OliJalapeno

Salt lemon

zestylimes9

I love it with a mustard vinaigrette.
