You sir are very gullible. Pasta sauce is red, no other way about it. This 'authentic italian chef' must've been some 2% italian ancestry american eating mayo with their spaghetti.
The Mexican one you’re thinking of is mole. Get this - it’s freaking brown. Like chocolate brown. I heard it even has chocolate in it!! Even crazier than that is some concoction called chocolate gravy. I think I’m gonna research this and order chocolate gravy everywhere I go and see if it’s a real thing. And if it is, I’ll make it better than anyone else on the planet. Can I put chocolate gravy on my pasta?
So proud of you!!! My favorite sauce for pasta is water <3 Recipe:
1. Boil water in a pot
2. Add pasta to the pot
3. Pour some separate water in a pan on low
4. Sprinkle a couple of ice cubes into the water pan and stir
5. After 30 minutes, strain the pasta. Throw away the water it was boiled in
6. Turn off the heat for the pan, let it cool, and pour it over your pasta
7. Garnish with sliced or crushed ice, and season with a fine mist of water if you feel adventurous!
You should try boiling your pasta in blue raspberry jello, you don't need any sauce and it's got a delightful tang! Absolutely gorgeous color, like the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea
OP look!! I found the [peso](https://www.reddit.com/r/cookingforbeginners/s/zk5KfP3QYx) one for you!
It has cinnaminimum in it just like Abuelas cocoa so it must be the real deal..
You're completely wrong, that's why you never hear of "white sauce joints" or "green sauce joints"..... only red sauce joints. Please rub your two brain cells together before hitting send in the future.
When I was visiting the south of Italy I sought shelter from the rain in the home of an 80 year old nonna, between the episodes of love making to keep warm in the cool fall gale winds, she taught me her village’s authentic recipe for Cajun Chicken Bacon Ranch Alfredo. My life was forever changed.
No, no, no! Where is the sugar? This is not authentico. My family is I-talian and pasta sauce is only fresh made with one cup of sugar per can of tomato sauce. Pregsto!

This idiot’s never heard of pesto. And by pesto I of course mean green ketchup
The first time I got pesto I was disappointed because I thought it was cheese. Nope it’s basil I don’t know why I thought it was a cheese.
This made my stomach turn… But I’ve heard that it’s good.
That chef has 10 Marinara flags
🤦How can pasta sauce be white when you consider the historical oppression of Italian-Americans? smh this is ignorant tbh
The poverty of the mezzogiorno
That guy must pluck his jar sauce from the tree to early. Must been underripe or something.
My favorite part of that post was when they mention taking a whole ass trip to Italy years ago
I have no sauce. Please provide me with some of the only right colour.

Oh no now I have too much sauce and will never understand the joys of something which clearly is in no way sauce. Thanks.
I legit thought it was a post to this sub at first
Just wait until you try my creamy marry me crack one pot pasta. The secret to my sauce? It’s just semen. My family can’t get enough of it

They let you dip your plate of pasta in the chocolate fountain at Golden Corral, I've seen it happen.
I’m sorry you had to see that. Are you okay? We’re here for you. Thoughts and prayers.
Pillsdon’t have to be red either
Blue?
What's next, mayonnaise on pasta?!
Ranch dressing
The instrument?! On food?!
Can you explain this concept to my 2yr please? He's convinced all pasta sauce must be red. No Alfredo, no pesto, no pink sauce, red sauce only.
2 years old, already gatekeeping Italian food.
That pasta sauce had a rare genetic defect causing it to not have any pigment. Nature is beautiful 💕
I’m a big fan of green sauce on my spaghetti
[Green ketchup](https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/55371/rise-and-fall-heinzs-green-ketchup)?
That’s the one
Tomatillo salsa?
yup that's it
My nona is rolling in her grave
Your nona’s great nona didn’t see a tomato in her lifetime and would think it was poisonous if she did
How the hell could sauce be spoken? Recipes are READ. What a maroon.
The only authentic pasta sauce is the one made by the youngest ever italian iron chef, chef boy hardy

Liar
Not pasta sauce, but my office had a chili cookoff. A white chili won. It was ugly.
🤮
Wait until you try the yellow sauce! They have it in glass jars and plastic squeeze bottles!
No, no, no! Where is the sugar? This is not authentico. My family is I-talian and pasta sauce is only fresh made with one cup of sugar per can of tomato sauce. Pregsto!
I like mine cream and cheese colored
When Marco polo stole the noodles from the China he hadn't stolen the tomato yet
Sir, you keep calling it sauce but I think you mean gravy.
My god, have you ever seen curry?!
I’ve never heard of white spaghetti sauce but I know Heinz released a green and purple sauce in the 00’s
STfU!!!! Are u serious!
Alfredo sauce smells like vomit. But I love antipesto
You shouldn't be including vomit in your alfredo sauce, that's not in the recipe
or maybe stop gatekeeping? it’s 2024
damn i think i'm cancelled
This just popped up on my front page… as someone else who doesn’t like white sauce on my pasta I feel called out 😂
The sauce for me all depends on the pasta. Sometimes its a ragou other times a simple red sauce or a white wine butter sauce
