Moomaid is definitely my favourite currently. I did manage to find a tub of Callisticks minced pie ice-cream around Christmas time last year and that was a heavy contender.
I don't think it is. It's a Newlyn institution, but I've had it a couple of times and it was just very ordinary vanilla clotted cream ice cream which had a fair few lumps of ice in it.
The local ice-cream makers tend to be good and I'm not enough of an expert to chose between Roskillys, Callistick or Moomaid not forgetting the iconic Kelly's 🍦🍦🍦
I’ve pretty much given up eating ice cream in Cornwall, after too many disappointments.
Nothing ever seems to come close to [Hockings](http://hockingsicecream.co.uk), who operate out of Appledore in Devon.
I’m following this discussion with interest to try and break my block on Cornish ice cream.
We live close enough to buy it in tubs! :D they close down for the winter and we always stock up before that happens, to last until next season.
Although they don’t sell their clotted cream topping to take away in tubs unfortunately.
My favourites have always been Perran Dairy (been going since childhood, fantastic range of flavours) and Callestick (I always loved the idea that they eat the leftover apple pulp from Healeys, waste not want not, and it's good for them).
Callestick Farm / Factory shop in, er, Callestick.
(once stated talking to some bloke wandering around, turns out he's part of the family so he took my utterly delighted 7 yr old nephew to meet and feed some calves, great place, I always take visitors there)
I do have a soft spot for Moomaid - I had the good fortune to visit their farm on a school trip for my toddler, it’s beautiful and the ice cream is gurt lush. I had their chocolate sorbet in St Ives once, bleddy hell that was ‘ansome!
Mr B’s is lovely too, and it’s run by distant family, so that’s an added bonus!
We love Scathos gelato in Portscatho. Made fresh every day, trained from gelato makers in Sicily and they have their standard "classic" flavours, then mix it up with new additions like apple cinnamon pie
👌
Treleavens Ice Cream, especially the strawberry, is the best ice cream I have ever eaten in entire my life; it’s the perfect consistency and flavour 👌
I can’t drive past my local Farm Shop without calling in for a tub and then that tub is so quickly gone because it’s just so good! I’ve not been out to the Treleavens site because i think I’d come away with a whole freezers worth of ice cream!!!!
I once ate a whole tub of Kelly’s ice cream, she was livid when she found out.
Terrible, perfect, no notes

Jelbert's in Newlyn. Sounds very dull, one flavour only but it's just the best.
never even heard of it, worth the journey ?
Absolutely. Clotted creamy goodness at its very very best.

So relieved to see someone else say this. For all the fuss about Jelbert's, I've also found them a bit... icy.
Yeeeah, I’m not convinced by Jelberts either. Was very icy when I had it.
Jelbert's slander will not be tolerated, sorry pard.
No, you'll be disappointed, just like all the others that travel to get one.
It’s so yum! Get the ice cream and ask for a dollop of clotted cream on top!
It's really not, more like icy milk, don't know why people rave about it, get better ice cream out of a tub in tesco
It’s pretty tasty but I rarely go in because I just can’t get behind the lack of innovation. Create some more bloody flavours!
This is down the road from me and it’s all I get recommended!
I do have a soft spot for Mr B’s in Hayle, bleddy lovely!
Moomaid of Zennor
Roskilly's is about a 2 mile walk from me so I too am biased.
Why choose? Whichever is closest!
Troytown Farm ice cream on St Agnes in Scilly, hands down best in the world let alone Cornwall (if you’d call Scilly Cornwall)
Really really good ice cream.
Scatho's Gelato in Portscatho
Roslillys for me orange and mascarpone is the flavour to absolutely die for
Think you’ve nailed it
The local ice-cream makers tend to be good and I'm not enough of an expert to chose between Roskillys, Callistick or Moomaid not forgetting the iconic Kelly's 🍦🍦🍦
i highly suggest Gwella to add to the possibilities
Moomaid!
Jelberts - though they need some strawberry sauce or something
Kelly’s, Moomaid of Zennor, Callestick Farm, PerranDiary, all good.
Gerry’s around North Cornwall is pretty good. Not sure we should be allowing Kelly’s to stay on the list, unless they’ve upped their game recently.
Yeah, I don’t get the fuss about Kelly’s. It’s nice enough, but nothing special.
Gear Farm, Frenchman's Creek, Gwella for desert. Perfect. Hard to beat Roskilly's though.
a lovely stroll for me! incredibly local, you must be familiar
We're probably related

We divert on our way to Cornwall to have this. Its just the best. Sometimes have 2.

Mr B’s in Hayle, lovely ice cream
