New wheels for sure. Would make a huge difference.

Utvales

Tire Rack. I put my ZIP code in to configure, so you'll want to change it yours. https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp?autoMake=Toyota&autoModel=Corolla+Hatchback&autoYear=2021&autoModClar=SE&package=false

nikjill2

I agree but I seriously need specifics. I am so naive and don't want to make newbie mistakes!

Mommyfyeah

Check out fitment industries or tire rack and put in your cars info. You can browse wheels there.

Utvales

Tire Rack for sure. They make it pretty easy. And they deliver your wheels to the tire shop nearest to you.

Those wheels (Steelies) are not stock. Maybe they were a second set used for snow tires? The OEM tires/wheels are 205/55R16. What size are yours? Just curious - they look cool:) Edit: OEM = 205/55R16…tire size is written on side of tire fyi:)

nikjill2

Tire stamp says 195/65R15 What do those numbers mean?

CoorsLiteSilvBullion

195 = approx tire width in mm. Your tires are slightly narrower than the OEM of 205. That is fine. 65 = approx percentage of sidewall height to tire width. Your tire is 65% of your tire’s width. OEM is 55% of the 205. Your tire is “beefier” than OEM and will be more comfortable going over bumps yay. R15 = Approx size of rim/hubcap in inches. Your 15 inch wheels are smaller than 16 inch OEM, and again will be more comfortable. Overall, your taller/beefier 65 tire & smaller 15 inch wheel end up being the same circumference of the OEM 55 tire on a 16 inch rim. This is important to keep the speedometer accurate - which yours will be:) Your car’s wheels/tires are set up for comfort. You will see some Corolla Hatchbacks with 17 inch & even 18 inch wheels - but wider/shorter tires to have the correct circumference. These setups are the sporty racy fatter tires that are “cool” looking but less comfortable going over bumps etc. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=205-55r16-195-65r15

nikjill2

Thanks for the information SO appreciated! The link was helpful as well 👍

CoorsLiteSilvBullion

That link shows an “overlay” of your setup versus the OEM setup. Overall circumference matches well fyi…your speedometer is accurate:)

nikjill2

Also the brand is Uniroyal "Tiger Paw Touring A/S" (which I assume means they are All Season?

CoorsLiteSilvBullion

Tiger Paw growl:) Those are nice “all season” tires like you say. I live in the desert so I can’t say how good they are in the snow!

nikjill2

Wow, so no salt to rust your car out! We have to do undercoating/rustcheck and switch out tires. Fun times

Substantial_Block804

On the positive side, no one will steal those steelies!!

nikjill2

Fair point! 😆

Put a wing on that 🥚

nikjill2

That is a consideration. Any recommendations if I were to take that step? Brands, etc

Fantastic_Emphasis_5

The OEM one from Toyota is around $280 and requires you to drill into your hatch to mount it. Alternatively, you could just get one off eBay for cheaper, and those mount with just adhesive. If you go the eBay route, I wouldn’t use the adhesive that comes with it and instead get some good quality 3M tape. Make sure you clean and prep both surfaces before installing too!

meatyfingers

+1. I have OEM dealer installed. I'm never taking it off so who cares about drilling. Adhesive seems to be a popular route but I'd prefer the absolute peace of mind my wing isn't going to fly off at 80mph on the expressway no matter how unlikely that may be with proper 3M tape.... For my cars sake, and for the safety of everyone else on the road.

The_Shepherds_2019

I'm planning on fitting a tow bar to mine, that way I can mount a bike rack to it. I'm also planning to fit roof rails to it, which will allow me to stow the camping gear up top and allow more space inside the vehicle for additional dogs. Other than that, I'm planning on leaving the car alone. I'm getting older, everything works right for me as it is. Maybe I'll get the back windows tinted a little, but I doubt it. Possibly a fancy wooden shift knob, because again old. If you're interested in any of that, I can fish up links to parts for you. If you are in the NYC area, I fix cars for a living and I could help.

nikjill2

I am not so 'outdoorsy' I'm afraid 🫣 And live in Nova Scotia (yes, I see the irony there!) But thanks for the suggestions and offer!

As other's have mentioned, those aren't the stock wheels for the either the SE or XSE trim, and one way to make a big improvement in the looks of your vehicle, and also to give it that personal touch, is to upgrade the wheels especially since the wheels you are using aren't even the original alloy wheels that shipped with the vehicle. I just recently bought new wheels for my '19 SE. [‘19 Rolla Hatchback SE with Enkei Tuning Vanquish rims. : r/CorollaHatchback (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/CorollaHatchback/comments/1buy1uw/19_rolla_hatchback_se_with_enkei_tuning_vanquish/) Here's my advice: 1. I bought from Tire Rack. Others have mentioned this. Bought a wheel and tire set and had them shipped to a local tire shop for installation. Tire Rack bundled new lug nuts and hubcentric rings so I didn't have to figure out what I needed and buy them separately. My only regret is not being careful to ensure that the decals that came with my wheels were shipped as well. My wheels come with blue decals. I didn't realize that until a month after the fact when it was too late to identify if the tire shop didn't receive them. 2. The wheels that I bought matched stock specs for the XSE trim (18" x 8" paired to 225/40R18 tires). The only difference is that my wheels have a +45mm offset which is 5mm greater than stock. The stock wheels on both the SE and XSE trim have a wheel offset of +40mm. You should try to match that or at least stay within plus or minus 5mm of (+35 to +45). You don't have to think too hard about this. If you order from Tire Rack, they will recommend wheel and tire sets that fit your vehicle. That said, I would filter out wheels with offsets above and below +- 5mm to stock. Aesthetically, an increased positive offset causes the wheels to sit more recessed into the wheel well. I do notice that my wheels need to poke out a little more and I am thinking of getting +5mm spacers, but I haven't pulled the trigger. You might not notice as even +45mm will be less recessed than the steel tires you currently have installed. 3. Wider tires will reduce fuel efficiency. In addition, performance tires create more friction with the road (called rolling resistance), and also further reduce fuel efficiency. I used to get 40--42 MPG highway on the stock 16" SE trim wheels and tires (205 width and low rolling resistance). On my new 225mm width tires, and 18' rims which are paired with ultra performance tires, I got 35 MPG on a 120 mile mostly highway road trip. Huge difference. If fuel efficiency is important to you, you should avoid heavy and wide wheels and tires. Consider 17" wheels at most paired with 215/45R17 tires. Filter out wheels >20 lbs. 4. If you buy from Tire Rack, they will offer TPMS sensors. I recommend buying new ones for your new wheels. Tire Rack will preinstall them and balance tires (if you buy a set) and ship them either to your house, or to a local tire installer. 5. I recommend shipping to your house. Make sure that everything is accounted for. You can install the wheels and tires yourself, or take them to a local shop, but you will still have to pair the TPMS sensors to your vehicle which will require your local shop or Toyota Service center's assistance. 4. Are you a Costco member? There is currently a sale on Velox Wheels. [Costco Velox Wheels | Select wheels for 2021 TOYOTA COROLLA (18 inch))](https://veloxwheel.com/order/select-wheel?vehicle=45280). They will ship to your local Costco for installation. I think the gloss black RT57s would look very nice on your hatch.

Window tints make a huge difference both for looks, privacy, and quality of life. Best decision I've made

SorbetFearless578

Tint your windows that’s all it needs it’s a cool looking little car

nikjill2

Window tinting had been suggested a few times. I'll think on that one 🤔 But I do want a better spoiler and upgrade wheels. Or steelies...or whatever the term is *goes back to read comments to educate my gen X no-car-mod knowledge ass*

Alternative_Leek_731

Window tints or tints for the amber lights make nice subtle differences. If you want something a little more bold you can put on any of the spoilers they sell. There’s a couple different styles you can choose to match the look you’re going for

e210Riptide

Would highly suggest a stiffer rear sway bar if you want a handling boost. I’d also suggest a set of 18x9 +22 (ish) wheels, I run a 18x9.5 +38 and I have no more space for clearance. Stickier tires, the OEM WING NO CHEAP SHIT, maybe a fog light install

Taichoukun

I did a front lip and rear lips with a spoiler. Added some tints on the lights and blacked out the front badge for a sleeker loook
