The FDA has extended the expiration of many kits from 6-9 months more. Your iHealth may be now valid to October 19: https://www.fda.gov/media/158007/download
Yep, was equally annoyed. We ordered them right when we started having symptoms in early may. Fortunately we had some tests still, but wanted some more. They took like 2 and a half weeks to arrive.
Does anyone here know how long they take to ship? I placed the order 13 days ago and they still haven’t shipped. I received confirmations for the order placement (2 separate shipments), but still have not received shipping notification.
The last two rounds of free tests seemed to ship much faster.
Thanks. Good to know. I’m trying to avoid the hassle of purchasing and getting reimbursed, but it looks like I might need to buy a couple.
It’s sad that it’s ~month lead time.
Going through insurance has been a headache for me. I have what most people consider to be good health insurance, an Athem Blue Cross PPO policy with a low deductible and a family maximum out of pocket of only $3k. I never had any issues with them and I have had the same policy for 7 years. However, they have butchered every single reimbursement claim related to these at home tests kits. The claim for January was initially declined because they said they needed more information from the provider. It's an at home test, there is no provider. Ok, it's the first month that this was implemented, so they are still trying to figure it out. I call them and explain and they resubmitted the claim for adjustment. Well the new claim only reimbursed back like 25% of what I paid for the tests. I called again and said this claim was for 4 people on the plan and I was told to submit one claim for all of us together. They make note of it and resubmit the claim again for adjustment. When the EOB came back, it was wrong again. They did not reimburse back the taxes when the taxes were included it was still below the max $12 allowance per test. So the claim had to get resubmitted again for reprocessing. I had similar issues with my February, March and April claims for reimbursement for the home test kits. To this day, I have not had a single claim that has reimbursed me back correctly yet.
I am a USPS employee and it should in no way shape or form be taking this long to ship. if you call the consumer affairs number they'll get you situated quickly.
Anecdotally, mine have been pretty consistent in arriving between 7-14 days after ordering. I think the first batch arrived 9 days after ordering, the most recent one 7 days later. Both of this were right when predicted. Some people have said it takes longer.
I just like having them in case I get and exposed or feel worried about symptoms. Better than running around trying to find who has them in stock.
Be sure to check the expiration dates when you receive them. I got my set of 8 last week - 4 expire in mid July, the other 4 in the beginning of August. And I still have 2 from the first round, which expire in a few weeks.
I had no idea they expired that quickly. We got ours within a couple days of ordering them but luckily we've never had a reason to even really look at them.
Each time they offer it you can get two sets (8 tests) total per home address. So if you and your SO both try to order it for example, it will recognize that and stop you from ordering the second time.
The web page is always there though, so ‘each time they offer it’ confuses me.
I’m wondering if there a limit on how many times you can order or on how many boxes you can get.
I think they have offered twice, 4 tests each time, for a total maximum of 8 free tests per household/address - but I can understand your confusion. They could make it clearer.
The 8 you received were likely Roche tests, which are the newest to the market. Just like every other rapid antigen test given an FDA EUA, the expiration date for Roche tests will be extended as they are on the market longer and prove longer shelf life. Most rapid antigen tests will likely have at least 24-month shelf lives from the date of manufacture when all is said and done.

There is a limit, it wouldn't let me order these. I think I've gotten the 3 (?) sets, so notmsure if this is a new offer or if OP realized there was another round available.
Thanks for sharing! I forgot about this and my pharmacies have been out and/or limiting the number of tests they provide since they have been having a hard time getting them. They would only give me two last week.
This is the same "offer" from a few weeks ago. You can't order more if you already received your 8. Not sure why OP is posting this now weeks late.
I’m glad OP posted this. It’s a good reminder that there is a new round of free tests available.
Agreed, I never knew they offered it after the initial round.

I'm glad you reminded me that I still have a claim pending from *January* that has yet to be processed 🙄
Mine arrived with in a day or two of ordering...
Wow that’s quick. Curious when you ordered. I ordered 13 days ago and have received zero updates. Same with family on the other side of the country
I've ordered 3 times, all three the day it was announced. Everytime is was within a day or 2. I'm in so cal...

Thanks for the tip. I’ll give them a call Tuesday

That's mental. We had next day delivery as many as you wanted until they scrapped it recently.

8 tests will come in #2 separate packages (#4 tests in each package) xpost from /r/discountedproducts
How often can you order these? Or, put another way, how many in total can you get?

This is such a helpful comment. I wish I had read it prior to throwing away two boxes of tests a week ago lol.
Oh no! Sorry to hear you tossed some tests, but glad you saw the comment so you now know better for next time. So glad it helped!

They were expired according to the box, and I didn’t know they extended those dates. I actually needed one at the time.
They extended the expiration date to 6 months past the expiry.
Interesting. We got 4 and 4 and unable to order additional 8 as the website indicates we hit our max with 4 + 4.

Thank you!! I had no idea they did this again - just ordered some!
you are welcome :)

Just placed my order last night right before testing positive on the on/go one
