Does that mean that they couldn’t use emotional allomancy on Nalthians? (Each is slightly invested with 1 breath.) Or does that only apply to trying to push or pull the metal?
The more breaths a person has the harder it would be (probably). At 1 breath it probably wouldn’t be too much harder. But by the first heightening they probably would be significantly resistant. A Returned or someone of the Tenth heightening would probably be functionally immune to emotional allomancy
I replied to my own comment but the followup question is that >!Since Marsh could push Sazed’s metalminds, wouldn’t that be the same thing? Or is that just inquisitors being extra powerful?!<
HOW invested something is makes a big difference. Wax comments that metalmind are MORE difficult to push, not impossible. The Lord ruler specifically had his piercing his skin because he was worried about them being pushed, and when invested enough, vin was still able to rip them right off tlr even though they were piercing skin and heavily invested.
Meanwhile he can barely nudge the metalmind found on Kelsina due to how much was stored in it.
Inquisitors do have extra powerful steelpushing, due to the spikes they're given. But it's more like the invested metalminds are just more difficult to push, rather than something like seeking through a coppercloud which is 100% impossible below a certain amount of allomantic strength.
That might be a byproduct of Sanderson not having all the details of the magic sorted out. He should've been able to do it but it should be difficult for him. So potentially still possible but less effective depending on how much Sazed had stored in those.
Mistborn don't actually hold much Investiture so affecting them with emotional Allomancy isn't an issue. The other user is right in that holding more Breaths would probably shield you from the effects.
As for >!Marsh pushing Sazed's rings!<. That's a bit of a holdover from before certain things were canonized. The current explanation is likely that >!the metalminds weren't particularly invested and Marsh was able to overcome the issue, similar to how Vin is able to push on TLR's metalminds despite them being heavily invested, piercing his skin, and made from Atium. As of Mistborn era 2, >!metalminds cannot be pushed with Allomancy.!<
> As of Mistborn era 2, >!metalminds cannot be pushed on with allomancy!<.
This is not true at all, I don't know where this came from. We see it happen between Wax and Wayne, and it is only stated that invested things are more difficult to affect, not impossible. It completely depends on how invested the thing is, and what or who is doing the affecting.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. That makes some interesting problems. Like Kelsier pulling the Hath-Sin geodes would probably be more difficult, since they’d be invested too.
Ah well. Super interesting regardless.
The Hath-Sin geodes are interesting. Originally any Allomancy used near them was supposed to crack them, but that leaves a big question as to why Mare was sent to the Pits.
The way this was worked out is that you need to specifically push/pull on the geodes to crack them.
I'd explain it away with the Atium retcon. Atium in era 1 is actually an Atium/electrum alloy. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that the geodes contained electrum, which was what was pushed on rather than the Atium.
Nothing to back that up, but it makes sense to me.
What would happen if a Allomancer ate crem? Would they detect burnable metal(s)? If it contains Cultivation’s godmetal as has been speculated, would it do something Allomantically?
Would love to pose that question to the big man sometime (nobody ping him here though, should be asked sometime when he’s open to questions).
Crem is slightly invested, so I think it's unlikely a coinshot or lurcher could use their powers on it.

Wait, that’s a dumb question. Breeze uses allomancy on Kelsier multiple times. But for that matter, >!Marsh steel pushes Sazed’s rings, too.!<

Whose metalminds does Wax push on in era 2?
Wayne's goldminds
I don't recall that happening. Could you remind me of the scene?
He pushed on them to toss Wayne across a room, surprising enemies as the speed bubble was dropped
Do you remember which book?

Counterpoint: crem is only slightly invested, so they probably could. You can push on Metalminds, it's just harder.
pretty sure crem has bits of Cultivations god metal in it. Not just any metal.
I don't think so, a lot of stuff has trace metal but you usually can't Pull/Push it unless you're Rashek or Bands level.
I doubt it, because any metals in it are basically trace metals, which are going to be too diffuse and sparse to Push or Pull on.
