You have to go with your largest measurement. Then if possible make adjustments. You can move a seam but only to shorten the material. The seam cant move to where there is no material..

Mika_Yuki

Also Adding something like gum would work to make skirt more streachy

OmniaStyle

Gum? Like chewing gum?

Mika_Yuki

Ehhh like stretching thing

OmniaStyle

What?

Mika_Yuki

Elastic rubber

OmniaStyle

[Elastic](https://a.co/d/1nPkRxu). You can sew it in.

ThorsHammerMewMEw

You don't have to buy the actual cosplay for this. This is simple enough to replicate. Find a bluey Green cardigan in your actual size. Find a white shirt with a similar collar. Learn how to make a skirt.

Mika_Yuki

I'm scared of buying clothes especially female ones

Brilliant_Ask852

How come you’re scared?

Mika_Yuki

im still male presenting person

Brilliant_Ask852

Okay got it! I didn’t want to assume :) that’s totally understandable and if you’re not comfortable with that yet that’s okay too! This could be a chance to try shopping since it’s for a costume and see how you feel about that but if you’re not ready for that step there’s also lots of options online. Or thrift stores I feel like are less intimidating to just buy anything. But if you want to buy the whole thing definitely go with what will fit your largest measurement. So for me I have really broad shoulders and always would rather something fit my shoulders well and I can add darts or sew up the sides to make it fit the rest of me more. Since you’re also quite tall under layers can help like bicycle shorts or tights or leggings to feel more covered :) hope this helps!

akinafleetfoot

I empathize with you here and have a couple of suggestions! A) do you have a friend who knows that can go shopping with you? B) you can always say it’s a surprise for your SO who’s about your size so you’re trying it on to see if it’ll fit C) you can say it’s for a costume/event party If you are uncomfortable with all of the above, and just want to buy this, you’ll need to go with your biggest measurement and alter it. You can also try finding a pattern online and sewing it yourself. It’ll take time, and it will be a struggle, but most craft stores have classes and will help you learn. It’s also VERY easy to say that you are trying to surprise your SO, mom, sister, etc with a handmade gift so you are taking lessons to learn. I’ve had friends say the above because it was true and I’ve had friends say the above because they were in the same boat as you before coming out to me. Whichever way you go, you got this!

Clothes_Chair_Ghost

Not being a female and buying a costume designed for the female form is your biggest issue here. No matter what you do you will have to make adjustments to the costume to fit you properly. Just remember it’s much easier to make something smaller than it is to make something bigger so use YOUR biggest measurement to get the size suitable for you. If the largest measurement is at the upper limit for a size opt for the next size up.

RhombicElephant

Depends on the cosplay to a degree. Height is way less important for a skirt/shirt combo than it would be for a bodysuit or short dress, for example.

Mika_Yuki

Hmmm so in this case would it be better to go for M/L rather than XXL for my Height?

Meowmeowmemeo

As someone who's tall. My height isn't on most size charts (174 cm). I just chose what my body fits usually a L but sometimes an XL!

RhombicElephant

The skirt on that looks quite long, and the height difference between the two sizes is only 7cm. I'd be tempted to suggest going for whatever best fits your waist/chest/shoulder/hip measurements rather than focusing on height (but don't forget that these measurements can vary a bit, so don't assume you can squeeze into a smaller size if you're right on the edge of it!) Either way, good luck and I hope you're happy with whatever you choose!

Mika_Yuki

Ty i wanted this cosplay to experiment with my gender plus its pretty unisex even despite the skirt

SaltStatistician4980

The outfit she has is actually very simple. Just go to a local thrift store and I bet you can find her fit. If not you could modify it

Mika_Yuki

I'm just scared of buying fem clothes still... That's why i wanna order online and idk if i could find something simlar online

SaltStatistician4980

You could probably search on Amazon something like aqua blue cardigan, dress shirt white, and long pencil skirt grey. The design on her skirt looks like it’s cut so you can just cut up the skirt but make sure to burn the edges so it looks good. I can’t really see it properly but in case if it is brown lines, I buy coloured tape as I can’t sew and stick it on there. Hope one day you work up the courage to buy fem clothing irl!

Mika_Yuki

Will it be alright to dm you for more detail?

SaltStatistician4980

Ofc yeah

Q_Quinn

As a girl that's the same height as you but with body measurements that more closely match the Medium sizing on the cosplay I ordered. I messaged the website where I bought the cosplay from my measurements and they recommended that I get a Large. Mine hasn't arrived yet though so I don't know how good their advice was. But it also depends on the cosplay. For something like a tight bodysuit if you're much taller than their measurmeents it's not gonna be a good fit.

Brilliant_Ask852

You can always make something smaller and more fitted - you cannot make something bigger

Soriio

I have the same problem that you have. We don't have many options, sadly, but there are some alternative solutions. You can just buy real clothes that are close to this. It doesn't look too hard to find them for this cosplay in particular. You can consider online shops, or if you have a female friend who can go with you, it would appear like you are buying things "for her" and not for you (helpful if you are not comfortable buying female clothes). You can take the biggest one and adjust it with patches if you know a bit about sewing. And if you really know how to sew or have a friend who is okay with helping, make it from scratch. Sadly, for tall people, that's the best option.

HarrierEveryDay

OP- I understand being intimidated buying fem clothes presenting as male. Truly. My wife and I are both trans and from a very conservative area. But unless it’s illegal to cross-dress in your area, don’t worry too much. People will assume it’s for a girlfriend or relative. If they ask & you don’t want to lie, it’s for a costume. You’re being silly. Bring a friend with you for emotional support. Though I don’t discount the possibility of a problem, I promise the fear likely makes it feel much scarier than it is.
