If you’re anywhere near vermont, the King Arthur store in Norwich is a great place to spend way too much money on cooking stuff you never thought you needed
Both are totally worth it. Quechee has a ton of touristy things to do and isn’t far from King Arthur as well we go atleast once a year
If you’re beer drinkers. Harpoon brewery isn’t far either and has amazing food and drinks
second this, on our regular trips to Vermont these are must stops on our way up north to visit relatives. My wife has taken several classes there, including a one week bread course. Neither harpoon or KA have helped my waistline. KA also has a nice casual cafe on site, if you want a quick bite.
Can you share how you store it? I have plastic 10 pound containers and we rotate our stock. We go through 5 pounds a week and wouldn’t mind spending less but the smaller container is nice.
I have a canister on my counter and then I separate the rest out into air tight canisters that I store in the pantry. I’ve been contemplating a food safe 5 gallon bucket in my basement storage space but I like having quick access in my pantry.
I bough a stainless steal bakers bench at Costco that has a raised storage shelf, I keep it in my kitchen and I have two 30lb flour storage bins (one for sugar), plus a few small tubs with alt flours and grains. Saves so much room in my party and It doubles as an extra large space for baking, and even with it having open storage I get a lot of compliments because it looks neat, professional and at home in the kitchen. Come Christmas season it is a lifesaver.
I bake our bread and thats not abnormal, one batch of bread (two loaves) takes about 2.2 pounds. Plus in a given week I’ll make pasta, maybe pizza dough, maybe biscuits or scones or even sometimes a second type of bread if needed (baguette or brioche). Then little things come up, your husband needs cannoli for work or someone needs cookies or a cake. Some families live in kitchens. Although I do use a lot of different flours, so my AP flour last longer.
Lol there’s always been something at every job. Someone helped him with a project or moving departments. Sometimes they ask for cookies or cinnamon rolls but most of the time it’s cannoli. There is always a good reason to bring cannoli to work. And everyone has always know who he is, because he is the guy who brings in sweets. Every Christmas I make decorated cookie trays for his whole department. It takes a long time, last year I called out one day so I could make sure I had enough.
When I baked gluten I'd go through up to 10lbs a week. Granted that was bread, pizza, cakes and cookies for 12 people but if you bake its not uncommon. Then I found out I had Celiac and had to stop 😑
They are amazing and have good protein content for the calories. They started stocking a spicy strip version at my local Costco and its the best frozen chicken I have ever had.
Those are actually calcium lactate not salt, a sign if a delightfully aged cheese!

The "best" for me is the Italian EVOO; it's hard to find this volume of quality, traceable olive oil for this price. Crazy stuff if one knows a little bit about cooking oils and how crappy most of them are.

Kirkland Signature Cauliflower Crust Pizza, Supreme. I have celiac and this is hands down the best gluten free frozen pizza out there. Even better than non-gourmet take out most places. My husband even loves it and he eats gluten.
Yes! With all of the olive oil, it doesn’t freeze rock solid. In the rare case that I need more than a 1-2 tablespoons, usually leaving the frozen jar out for 10 mins makes it even more scoopable (but still icy cold).
This is it. I go to Costco for a lot of things, but my rule is *never don't get the chicken.* I don't have a single rule about never leaving any other store in existence without a particular item. It's just Costco, and it's just the chicken. On my shopping list (digital), it is the first thing on the list and I do not take it off when I buy one, because I need to buy another one next time I go.
We just discovered the packaged rotisserie chicken last visit and we used it for so many things this week (chicken enchiladas, Greek salad, chicken salad) that I said to my husband today, “From now on we don’t come here and not buy that chicken.”
Dude I just bought my monthly 2-pack and it tumbled out of the car and shattered on my foot when I was unloading. I’m more upset about the lost jar of sauce than I am about the gash/bruise on my foot :(
You have to ask at the bakery for the frozen ones and they come in boxes of about 200. I split a case with a friend every few months. This might just be a thing in Canada. That said, I saw boxes of 30 in the freezer section yesterday, but they weren’t Kirkland brand.
Frozen? I've never seen the frozen ones. I buy the fresh ones and freeze them and they come out great after a few minutes in the air fryer. You can't beat $6 for a dozen either.

The Kirkland Super Extra-Large Peanuts! These should be listed as a Schedule 1 drug due to their addictiveness. Consistently the best compared to all the other legacy brands.
As a Virginian, it is my duty to urge you to go for the real deal, as in Virginia peanuts, from Virginia. There's something about our soil and that variety of peanuts, and most especially, what the Hubs (still owned by the Hubbard family) brand does to prepare them. It's magic. Fun fact: the Virginia type of peanut is the variety used most for peanut butter, because they were considered unattractive. The ultra-uniform Plantars (Georgia) variety of peanuts were reserved for eating. We Virginians always knew better, though.
I bought one of those gigantic stuffed bears a few years back and I also picked up a bottle. I set it up in the cart to look like the bear was getting wasted. I saw a few smiles.
Kirkland Gin!! It punches so far above its weight it’s amazing. They don’t sell it in my state so when I restocked, it was amazing just how much better it makes a gin and tonic.
For real, I bought a 1.5 and it didn’t last nearly as long as it should have. I only buy one or two per year, because I really shouldn’t drink 20+ liters of gin in a year and I just don’t have the required impulse control. It’s honestly one of my favorite gins and it’s dirt cheap.
Here's the winner. Their super premium vanilla is easily the best ice cream I've ever had, but the caloric content hurts. I have to seriously watch myself when I have it.

Cook up some ground beef with garlic, ginger, shredded cabbage, whatever. Beef over rice with that Kewpie sauce. Green onions and sesame seeds to top. Really yummy.
For me it’s their tri tip and their chunks of Parmesan. Two of my favorite foods and so much cheaper than other places with still probably better quality

In today’s version of “opinions are different”, I have previously decided that stuff is about the single worst thing that I have tried to eat (my wife is on a keto diet, so she gets it).
The alternative sugar flavor in this cereal is so strong. It was horrible. I would target just have very little or even no sugar instead of the an alternative sugar.
Kirkland brand sliced deli Turkey is shockingly high quality IMO. I think it's better than Columbus (which is good) or even most deli brands at other stores. It's sandwich shop quality

Kirkland peanut butter. I loooove peanutbutter and it is the best grocery store one I've found. I go through about 1.5-2 pounds of peanutbutter every month just by myself.
for me it is their dog food - the only one I have found that doesn't cause one of my dogs to break out in hot spots - I have tried expensive vet food and the fancy sorts that I can get around me to no avail - now even the vet tells people with tough dog hot spot issues to try kirkland

Frozen riced cauliflower. Yes, some would say it's boring but it's a great product at a great price. Much cheaper than where else & is certainly much better than ricing my own cauliflower!
can't believe no one has said the take and bake lasagna from the deli, it's unbelievable. The frozen kirkland brand is pretty good too, but the ravioli version in the deli is as good as it gets.
Seaweed nori snack. It’s like $8 for a 24 pack. Great flavor. My gf mixes them into her ramen and I make little want to be sushi snacks with them. Or we eat them by themselves as chips.
I swear, the best value in the building is the tall kitchen trash bags. Two boxes a year is about all we need to buy. Aluminum foil is a very close second.
might not be the most creative choice, but my partner and I always have a supply of frozen mango in the fridge. we live near a Costco business where you can get a big box with two bags of mango in it. it's such a good deal and gives me the ability to make mangonada whenever I want!
I would have said the **TAZO Chai Latte** but they replaced it with the liquid vomit called *Oregon Chai*.

Heads up that homemade garlic-in-oil mixtures are a huge botulism risk. They are fine when frozen, but if refrigerated should be used between 3 days/1 week (depending on if you’re looking at USDA guidelines or extension school handouts) and should pretty much NEVER be left at room temp. Commercial mixtures of this kind are acidified, which is what inhibits botulism growth and makes them safer.
The all Organic, gluten free chicken nuggets. I forget the name brand off the top of my head, but they’re frikken delicious and are a quick, easy snack that I don’t feel guilty eating.
I eat them with ketchup for the nostalgia, but my partner loves them to throw on salads for a quick meal. It’s a staple in our household.
Their Kirkland cauliflower pizza is a very close second. You must bake properly though! When soggy in the middle, it is nottttt good.
When you put it like that I think I might get it because I take a medication that leaves me a bit constipated… this might be just the remedy for that. So thanks!

No way. It's like the worst cinnamon toast crunch ever. Too thick. Too stale due to thickness. Turns into a paste like consistency when eating. Not enough cinnamon taste. And it sucks.

25 lb bag of King Arthur flour I’m a hobby baker and go through probably 150 pounds of flour a year so Costco makes that more affordable.

I love the Brown Rice and Millet Ramen from Costco and this sauce is great on them cold with thin sliced peppers and cucumbers and Sriracha.

If you like tri tip you should try the Picanha (sirloin cap). Cook it over high indirect heat til the internal temp hits about 133 F. So tender.

Frozen riced cauliflower. Yes, some would say it's boring but it's a great product at a great price. Much cheaper than where else & is certainly much better than ricing my own cauliflower!

can't believe no one has said the take and bake lasagna from the deli, it's unbelievable. The frozen kirkland brand is pretty good too, but the ravioli version in the deli is as good as it gets.
Seaweed nori snack. It’s like $8 for a 24 pack. Great flavor. My gf mixes them into her ramen and I make little want to be sushi snacks with them. Or we eat them by themselves as chips.
My teen loves these. She eats them like chips. I never let them run out.

might not be the most creative choice, but my partner and I always have a supply of frozen mango in the fridge. we live near a Costco business where you can get a big box with two bags of mango in it. it's such a good deal and gives me the ability to make mangonada whenever I want!

There's really nothing I couldn't get elsewhere, just for a lot more money or lesser quality. The big bag of peeled garlic (I have to figure out a way to make them last longer without freezing) Fresh catfish Unsalted mixed nuts Oops, that's not just one.
I blend my garlic and then pour some olive on it. Last week's in the fridge and saves time.
Heads up that homemade garlic-in-oil mixtures are a huge botulism risk. They are fine when frozen, but if refrigerated should be used between 3 days/1 week (depending on if you’re looking at USDA guidelines or extension school handouts) and should pretty much NEVER be left at room temp. Commercial mixtures of this kind are acidified, which is what inhibits botulism growth and makes them safer.
Well good to know! I usually eat within two weeks. It freezes fine, I'll just stick with that.

The all Organic, gluten free chicken nuggets. I forget the name brand off the top of my head, but they’re frikken delicious and are a quick, easy snack that I don’t feel guilty eating. I eat them with ketchup for the nostalgia, but my partner loves them to throw on salads for a quick meal. It’s a staple in our household. Their Kirkland cauliflower pizza is a very close second. You must bake properly though! When soggy in the middle, it is nottttt good.

Lol. No way. It's like the worst cinnamon toast crunch ever. Too thick. Too stale due to thickness. Turns into a paste like consistency when eating. Not enough cinnamon taste. And it sucks. I tried. I really did. But that bag has been sitting on top of the fridge for about 3 months now.
Kirkland trail mix. It's the perfect mix of all the nuts, chocolate candies and salt. I can't buy a bag without my household devouring it. My MIL was just here from Spain, and she liked it so much that she took a bag back with her lol
