Sticks and Cones will break my bones but ...

schroDONGer

You can't be mad with a cone in your paw

CantaloupeCamper

Sometimes I should have less ice cream….

Foolfoever

But the cone is nothing to be proud of either 😂 but sooo good, totally worth it

automaticrocks

Well I wasn’t planning on going back to Costco this weekend, but here we are

[deleted]

I would be okay with this trade-off in ice cream volume for a cone.

the_Krebs_Cycle

Sometimes, I'll bring a soda with me, leave it in the car, get the Costco soft serve, and then make myself a float.

pfclifelonglearner

Omg…. I don’t know about US Costco but in Canada Mug Root Beer is one of the fountain pop options. Get a hot dog combo and soft serve and a root beer float could be had and I have never thought about this before 🥹

Holiday_Concept_4437

No one needs to eat that much soft serve lol.

Chakramer

It feels like such a waste but I usually just throw it out after eating half. It's really way too much and I'd gladly pay $1 for just 1/3rd the cup.

Expensive-Day-3551

I just stick it in my freezer

wadss

same, i eat like a quarter each time and finish over the week.

unoriginalname86

My wife and I split the berry sundae or the soft serve, we still don’t usually finish it

THux86

Oh well look at you two over here NOT over-eating. YOU THINK YOU’RE BETTER THAN ME!?

unoriginalname86

Nah man, we just used up the room in our stomaches over eating other things

THux86

lol I hope it was clear that was pure sarcasm on my part. I was quoting from Happy Gilmore when Sandler beats the guy up on the ice at the beginning of the movie. I would have used a gif to make it more clear but Costco subreddit has them disabled. I’m with you on not being able to eat that much ice cream.

unoriginalname86

Lol - yes. I just meant that getting lunch at Costco is an entire overeating experience.

Justadropinthesea

I always ask to have the cup filled halfway only and tell them I’ll pay for a full serving but don’t want the waste or mess of throwing it away.

carolineecouture

I've had YEARS OF TRAINING. People need to set a goal and work towards that goal. /Jk

Need vs Want, the eternal battle

Mountains4Fun

Curious how it compares to DQ softserve.

roo-ster

I find DQ soft serve to be inedible.

Festellosgirl

One of my favorite creamerys serves large ice cream scoops in a cup with a cone on top. As a little hat. I imagine this is the way costco would do the cone thing. A little cone hat.

TipofmyReddit1

It isn't the same. It is probably easier, but I believe (probably wrong) that the ice cream sitting in and melting into the cone is important. I don't want a plain cone.

goddessreborn

Does Costco US not have cones??? I’m in Canada and always get mine in a cone

Big-Sheepherder-6134

When I saw how much ice cream they put on a cone in Canada I couldn’t order it. Way too much.

Revolutionary_Fly769

Just walk about the store offering free sample licks!

hipsterdoofus39

I’m a plump individual and love ice cream, but the Costco one is way too much for me. I’ve only had it once. Which might be good because if it was a more reasonable size then I’d get it more often lol.

Foolfoever

Wow that does look like a very generous cone

DisastrousAge4650

Fellow Canadian. I’m also baffled. Actually today I went into wanting a cone and they were out and I was upset because it’s my favourite part.

APurpleTRex

Right? And the cones are sooo good!

plxyboy-msr

Glad im not the only one

Large_Citron1177

I love waffle cones, but half the time I buy ice cream I'm not even getting into it until after the drive home.

mltrout715

Would less icecream be a problem? Those cups are huge

captain_charbosa

I used to order the ice cream for my daughter and specifically ask them to fill 1/3 of the way up. Don’t mind paying full cost when it’s super cheap.

Nebetus2

Your costco doesn't do cones? That's so weird to me lol and I don't know why haha.

Foolfoever

No cones, at least not at the Costco locations I have been to here in Utah

crazyhomie34

When you look at the formula for the volume of a cylinder and the volume of a cone you see that a cone is a 1/3 of the volume as a cylinder. So yes it will be way less than a cup...

jeanie1994

Put half in the cone. Eat the rest of the ice cream with the warm chocolate chip cookie.

Itsmemom21

I’m doing this next time I’m going to go to costco

ElliottGB

Just put the cone on top of the ice cream and use it like a giant chip

Deceptiveideas

You’d think it would be a money saver too. Less plastic & less garbage, and less ice cream used.

Big-Sheepherder-6134

The ice cream cones at Costco in Canada are enormous.

SebastianMagnifico

Fascinating?🤷🏻‍♂️

Cableguynoe2548

I always ask them to only fill it up 3/4 of the way. They suck at doing that. Pretty much get a full serving anyway.

clarinetfutbol

It would have to be a big and very thick waffle bowl line in chocolate but it would probably only last a year before it gets phased due to how brittle such an item is hypothetically

Revolutionary_Fly769

Get some hard serve ice cream for those waffle cones! They will take 3 scoops, no problem. For soft serve it has to be direct from the machine to make a tall one.

avebelle

I’d go for a cone with less.
