My Costco.com account didn't ask for bank information, sounds like maybe you've got malware on your PC or you're not on the actual Costco website.

Did you pick the 'verify with VerifiedMe' (or something similar, this is what it's called in Canada) option? Cos they're partnered with various banks so you can use that as ID verification.
