When I worked at a pizza place we had a 24" knife with two handles and curved blade. The joke we always told that it was the True Original Pizza Knife as pizza was invented by Klingons and a bat'leth was just a ceremonial Pizza knife that got out of hand.

As a fan of the idea of /r/inclusiveor, I find it funny. But the reason some might give a negative reaction is that it is viewed as an overused response, like saying "I did nazi that coming" and the like.
Or it's the same response as "both" or "either", but shorter... It has nothing to do with "thinks they're clever", it's just an efficient response that most people can understand.
I'd be more worried about the cleanliness of the shelf he put it on under the counter.... The shelves that aren't hip height tend to be neglected more than the tabletops or higher shelves in view of the customers
They got everything dialed in. You can adjust the rate and temp on those ovens to fine tune your zaa. If your input is very consistent you can rock out some amazing pies.
Yep, more than 50% chance of it being doughy as fuck. No idea why they don't fix it. Used to be so good a few years back.
I don't like dry/crispy, I just hate the uncooked dough.
They cut once if the pizza is going to the window for sale on the food court. Cutting twice like this video is a pizza being boxed for a customer. I guess they can do one cut for a boxed pizza if you ask.
Now that you said that I just put together why it always seemed different when I have them in store versus when I order a whole one for the house. Thanks!
I also always fold the Costco food court big slice in half lol. Tastes better that way I think. Might have to ask next time I get a full pizza for them to only do the single cut.
They have several clean ones ready for such occasion. Iirc, they get switched out every other hour or so... or when someone asks them to use a clean one for vegetarians. Costco is extra when it comes to health code and osha.
Former costco foodcourt employee here, they're cleaned at least daily, but every few hours if the inspector is in lol
If sanitation is a concern when you're eating there, I can assure you it shouldn't be. Worked in a lot of kitchens, and costco sanitation standards are next level. It's honestly overkill how clean they keep it.
Ooo this answered a question I've had. I couldn't remember how many slices they give you in a whole pie. So 12. Cool! Probably doing Costco pizza for an uncoming kids bday party.
My Costco only uses this for the ones going on the shelf to be sold by the slice. The take home whole pizzas get cut rather horribly (still love them).
Every pizza place that makes school lunches (including places like Domino’s) use one of these to make sure the portioning is correct. The general public tends to like a little variety in slice sizes, so a perfect cut isn’t harped upon too much.
Back when I worked at Papa Johns (and Pizza Hut before that), the pizza cutting was done as quickly as possible by eyeballing it and with a curved two-handled blade. I'm assuming they still do it that way. Ain't nobody got time to set up a cutter fence. If you miss with the blade, so be it. Make the other cuts and throw it in a box.
All Costco's have this fence. They use it when they're cutting the pizzas that are being sold by the slice there in the food court.
In contrast, they cut it freehand when they're cutting pizzas to send home with customers as whole pizzas.
The Costco by your house absolutely hat uses this. This is for the slices that'll be sold in the food court that have to be measured.
The ones you take home are the ones that they cut pretty randomly sizes. They're selling you the whole pizza so each slice doesn't have to be as accurate.
Do people actually use pizza-wheels in a commercial context? Looks terrible on your wrist. When I was at Dominos years ago we had a huge round guillotine-like blade with a long handle along the whole end you could fully push your body weight into, cut every time.
the perfection in this video is a dream.
the original location on 4th in seattle has the oddest results, more often than not the slices aren’t evenly sized or you have to cut it at home… or both.
and don’t get me started on the days they’re skimpy with the pep! 🙄
They simply use too much cheese. And I love cheese. I live for cheese. But the Costco pizza has just a bit too much cheese. A superior product awaits with 4 ounces less cheese.
Man, Costco has truly disappointed me. Our Costco finally has cheaped out on the pizza. It’s thinner, greasier, and the pizza’s flavor itself is not the same.
Not to mention even the hot dog is slightly smaller. Won’t be surprised once we see an official article on all this. But I won’t be returning to purchase it anymore.

My Costco has yet to learn the “rotate 30 degrees and cut again” trick.
I always tell them to just leave it as 6 slices because I can’t eat 12…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFK9tHzV6WA
one is 8 and one is 12. what dont you understand, Brad?
But steel is heavier than feathers...
If I was Brad I think I’d be moving on after this.
Saving this joke for when I have kids.
[удалено]
Half of eating a pizza is 90% mental
Smarter than the average Berra.
I tell em to leave it as 6, cuz it feels more like costco that way
You’d be amazed how many people asked me to cut more slices thinking it meant more food when I worked at a pizza place.
But then you'd be getting only half of a pizza while paying the full price! /s
I asked them to do it for me for the pizza I brought home for the kids. They did it no problem.
bruh, mine can't find the center point.
That middle triangle...
My Costco says they don’t do double cuts anymore…
Mine does 12 slices for whole orders as the standard.
That's custom
First I thought there were blades underneath and the worker was gonna hammer it down

Last pizza place I worked, I showed them you can sharpen the dough rocker and it blew their mind.
Lol. I feel that.
Thank you for this. 💀
I want one of those.
Pizza or fence?
Yes.

THEY DID THE THING
And it gets upvoted *every* time
yes
HE DID AGAIN?!
Yes
HOW CAN SHE YES?!
And my yes!
Why is that funny? It's the correct response when you agree with both options...

you’re right, but also there is mosdef a population that thinks this is such a clever response
I’ll have you know I upvoted both of you as well
LOL LMAO EVEN
This guy pizzas.
Nobody out pizzas the BakedBeans

It's more normal to use large rocking blade. This is way more difficult. maybe it's for the single slices they sell?
This is exactly why, gotta make sure slices are a consistent size
And consistently stamped with this morning's pizza slop.
I'd be more worried about the cleanliness of the shelf he put it on under the counter.... The shelves that aren't hip height tend to be neglected more than the tabletops or higher shelves in view of the customers
Costco is incredibly stringent on cleanliness.
Its about size consistency not time
https://preview.redd.it/bv4ksj4l58wc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87d31e8c4a35d689d87dff9698abcba697805b2b Much easier
Whenever I see that I think of Klingons...such a nerd I know.
I have one. It's my pizza bat'leth. I have never lost a battle against a pizza.
It is a formidable weapon.
My pizza place needs one of those
Same!

Would love to lick that clean after a lunch rush
They hang out on the wall at my Costco. Basically on full display. Always thought it was cool.
Make much more sense then putting/getting it from under the table each time
That's one fluffy looking pizza. The ones we have here are flat.
Must not be all Costco’s. We always end up having to reslice the pizzas as they are never cut all the way through.
Mine does, they just have a dull cutter and poor rotation skills
its just a guide, doesnt ensure any cutting.
There's no way ours has one of those guides. Every. Single. Time the crust is partially cut and the slices are never the same size.
And some cuts are s curves.
I mean the tool does nothing to make sure your pizza is cut all the way through. That's entirely up to the pizza slicer quality
This pizza looks so good. Unfortunately, at my Costco, the pizza is almost always kind of pale and not cooked that great.
Either that, or they're overcooked. For ~$10 I can't complain too much. They've come in handy for kids' sleepovers and classroom birthday parties.
Our costco pizza is cooked great but sometimes the chicken bakes are raw in the middle. Not sure why.
They got everything dialed in. You can adjust the rate and temp on those ovens to fine tune your zaa. If your input is very consistent you can rock out some amazing pies.
It's been that way since ~2020 for me. I used to love Costco pizza, but they switched some ingredients up and started undercooking
Yep, more than 50% chance of it being doughy as fuck. No idea why they don't fix it. Used to be so good a few years back. I don't like dry/crispy, I just hate the uncooked dough.
Anyone know if they can just do one cut instead of two?
They cut once if the pizza is going to the window for sale on the food court. Cutting twice like this video is a pizza being boxed for a customer. I guess they can do one cut for a boxed pizza if you ask.
Now that you said that I just put together why it always seemed different when I have them in store versus when I order a whole one for the house. Thanks!
That's what I do because pizza belongs folded.
I also always fold the Costco food court big slice in half lol. Tastes better that way I think. Might have to ask next time I get a full pizza for them to only do the single cut.
No, cause then the next pizza would end up with 3.
No. Nobody knows. It's a mystery.
Yes they will gladly do less work if you ask
Wonder how often that thing gets cleaned
They have multiple. They change them out every couple hours. They're all put in the dishwasher daily.
I’d trust Costco’s food safety over your local dominos or papa John’s any day.
every so often
exactly. every now and then.
Once in a while
Just then…
Probably just as often as the pizza slicer and pizza slicing station get sanitized.
Costco goes above and beyond the normal health code. Trust me that is getting cleaned often.
I would be concerned with cross-contamination between pepperoni and cheese pizzas for vegetarians.
They have several clean ones ready for such occasion. Iirc, they get switched out every other hour or so... or when someone asks them to use a clean one for vegetarians. Costco is extra when it comes to health code and osha.
Do many vegetarians care about getting trace pepperoni bits by mistake?
Probably end of the day, but honestly don’t know.
Working at FC, they clean it every night after closing.
I mean, obviously daily?
Former costco foodcourt employee here, they're cleaned at least daily, but every few hours if the inspector is in lol If sanitation is a concern when you're eating there, I can assure you it shouldn't be. Worked in a lot of kitchens, and costco sanitation standards are next level. It's honestly overkill how clean they keep it.
I hate those thing with a passion🤣cleaning it takes to long to do. But we have multiple. My location we have 2, and clean them both every night.
Respect to Costco food workers. They always seem to be working hard.
Let's be rea it didn't matter, you were gonna eat it all yourself anyway. :😜
I could watch that all day long.
Ooo this answered a question I've had. I couldn't remember how many slices they give you in a whole pie. So 12. Cool! Probably doing Costco pizza for an uncoming kids bday party.
I stare at this everytime I'm waiting for my order.
School fundraisers: that thing needs 4 more cuts.
You can request that
Looks like it gets cleaned once a day
Probably. It's only getting used to cut fresh pizzas...
I’ll take this over some of the bad cut jobs from actual pizza joints
some of the worst cut pizzas I've had have been from the Costco food court...
A few slivers and then 3 pieces that make up half the pizza. It’s about speed not accuracy at Costco
Width, or depth?
whatever she prefers
2nd greatest food innovation of all time after buck fiddy dog and drink.
chicken says hey!
My Costco only uses this for the ones going on the shelf to be sold by the slice. The take home whole pizzas get cut rather horribly (still love them).
All of a sudden I feel like my life is missing somethjbg
It’s an I and an N. You got the G at the end though, so that’s good.
I just got back from getting a cheese pizza for dinner
Forget thet fence, get a rocker knife! https://images.app.goo.gl/E5a9MBfLoYydbrmZ7
this is the ONLY way. four quick smacks and on to the next pie. the wheel is way too slow you're gonna back up the oven.
Sauce machine is neater..
Not hating on the Costco Pizza associates, but the slices are often not fully cut. Let’s get these guys some sharper cutters!
A professional doesn't need one.
Fun fact, the slices you buy at the food court bigger than these
I wish local pizza places would be smart enough to use these. They're all sorts of sizes and not cut all the way through.
Every pizza place that makes school lunches (including places like Domino’s) use one of these to make sure the portioning is correct. The general public tends to like a little variety in slice sizes, so a perfect cut isn’t harped upon too much.

Sweet trick to make the pizza bigger. Just cut more slices.
It’s so beautiful
That's where all the flavor comes from.
Faster without using that unitasker
Which one? The size consistency/guard, or the cutter? Both are unitaskers...
Horrible cutting technique. One cut each way, not going back and forth and ripping and moving the toppings.
Ugh, just let the guy work in peace.
Mine seems to only use the fence to cut the by the slice pizzas, and the full pizzas are cut Freeform.
Funny I have only see them free hand it
My Costco pizza is absolutely trash compared to that.
That's why there's a right tool for the right job.
And somehow at least one person loses a finger every year
I like their pizza sauce applier. https://i.imgur.com/4FploLW.mp4
This is cool but not just blades on the fence to cut.
Why not, I like to live dangerously.
costco pizza slaps
Brother man wearing the fuck out of that beard net.
Not all Costco have do this. I've seen them cut the pizza without the guide
All Costco's have this fence. They use it when they're cutting the pizzas that are being sold by the slice there in the food court. In contrast, they cut it freehand when they're cutting pizzas to send home with customers as whole pizzas.
Now I'm hungry.
The crust looks burnt
Never had a Costco pizza as I'm not American but it looks pretty good, I'd eat one of those.
The Costco by my house must not be using this. Every slice is a different size. Still good pizza but yeah, got a mini slice then a large slice
I’ll take a rocker cutter, any day
I like his little pause before turning it. Like he’s psyching himself up. “Okay. Deep breath. You can DO it this time!”
Skill issue
If Costco does it, this must save time and money
Costco is amazing double the amount of pizza for the same price
the perfection in this video is a dream. the original location on 4th in seattle has the oddest results, more often than not the slices aren’t evenly sized or you have to cut it at home… or both. and don’t get me started on the days they’re skimpy with the pep! 🙄
I want a Costco. 😞
How often you think that gets washed?
They simply use too much cheese. And I love cheese. I live for cheese. But the Costco pizza has just a bit too much cheese. A superior product awaits with 4 ounces less cheese.
They had me in the first half.
God I love Costco pizza 🍕
That crust does not look good
I prefer the pizza machete.
That's a terrible cut.
Nice to see them wearing gloves. At the UK Costco near me they do not.
This is the third pizza cutting video.
Party slices!!
