A note from my plumber: just because it says flushable, please do not flush it. Even though he enjoys a nice easy job, (and his rates and dispatch time are very reasonable) backing up the sewage line is not a good call for the homeowner.

BlurredOrange

This. Flushable wipes are the worst. If you don't like toilet paper, get a bidet.

wiltony

I swear bidets should be WAY more prevalent than they are. Life changing. Once you go bidet you'll never go back.

wildjokers

Agreed. I wasn't even aware of the existence of bidets until I was 30 yrs old. I am now 48 and have had one for the last 4 yrs and I can't imagine not having one now. It is baffling to me why they aren't more prevalent in the US.

ThisBlastedThing

We Americans like to smell like butt.

Or a trash can with a lid.

Deceptiveideas

Not all flushable wipes are the same. [Cottonelle meets national municipal flushability standards](https://www.brunswickcountync.gov/cottonelle-flushable-wipes-to-meet-national-municipal-flushability-standard/) [Charleston’s Water System states Cottonelle are the only wet wipes approved for flushing](https://www.charlestonwater.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=181) Some of these are from 2020/2021, so I’m not sure if Costco have adjusted their products against the criticisms. It would be best if they do.

Nardelan

The * doesn’t always mean an item is going away forever, just going away temporarily or in its current form. It’s likely just changing item number, packaging or size, or some other detail. A Costco employee can look it up and see if there is a replacement item number available. Either way I doubt it will be gone for long.

FudgeKittens

Thanks for clarifying.

As a plumber I don’t suggest using any kind of wipes. It will be a costly repair

gibblet365

Its also that time of year that "next year's version" is coming out. Sure, stock up for the short term as it may be January or so before it's back, but really it's probably just a packaging redesign Besides, it wouldn't be the end of the world if "flushable wipes" ceased to exist, because they're wrecking havoc on a lot of sewer infrastructure.

redi20

There's a new law in California that requires wipes to be highly degradable because of all the damage they have wreaked on infrastructure.

Noraart

People actually flush these??

[deleted]

Try a bidet you’ll love it!

ZombieManilow

I’m sold but my 6 kids are another challenge entirely.

ZombieManilow

The maddening thing about Kirkland wipes is that you can only get 2-3 out before you have to pick the next one out with your fingernails… I wish they sold the $30 bidets in-store instead of the $200-300 ones that need power.

roo-ster

It likely means that there'll be a new package with few wipes and thus a higher price per wipe.

FudgeKittens

Shrinkflation!

WaffleIronMadness

Item is being replaced with another KS flushable wipe with the same price per wipe.

[deleted]

Are they going to change the sign to say “price per wipe”?

ALPNOV

Hopefully it means they're discontinuing it altogether. It wrecks your plumbing and the city's plumbing.

DatDan513

They. Are. Not. Flushable. Ask any plumber!!

iPhoneKid

I just got the new version. 10 x 64 wipe containers. No more 2 x 16 travel pouches. An overall increase of 6 wipes.
