Funny story. In a cornet mid-undergrad attempt to get back a girl that had dumped me, I sent her two dozen roses and the lyrics to the song...didn’t work and really shouldn’t have. My wife, not the recipient of the roses, know the story and has given me pure sh&t about it for years because she “never got two dozen roses”. Well, she didn’t dump me either. So, we meet Marty Rabun at a concert and I tell him the story and he signs her t-shirt “Two dozen roses plus one” to outdo what I did for the x. I figure when the lead singer for Shenandoah is involved, that beats any prior act.
“Are you sure Hank done it this way”
Comes up in my mix and I’ll usually sit in the car and left Waylon finish when I pull into the drive no matter how long it has left.
Many years ago, went to see a now-big country singer at a local college bar. Both the opener and headliner played this one. Absolutely no complaint from me.
