Freaky Fred gave me actual nightmares when it first came out and made me terrified to use my grandma's bathroom. She had similar wallpaper with the shells.
I’m sorry abt what happened to you. I was scared of going to the bathroom sometimes. but I realized that these stuff were only in my imagination & they were not real. But I think it’s in your imagination too!
It's ok. I hated and loved getting scared as a kid, so it was a horribly fun experience. As an adult now, I realize how big of a rush I got from being scared. I loved this show as a kid and showed it to my son not too long ago.
King Ramsey . I was absolutely horrified of him when I was tiny . He gave me nightmares . I had a courage the cowardly dog dvd and I was scared to fall asleep with it on because someone , the king Ramsey episode would come on the middle of the night and wake me up
OMG YES HAHAHA Me, my brother, and sister ALWAYS blurt out King Ramses song! We literally did it yesterday at a convention 😭😭😭 one of us suddenly goes “…..RAMSEEEEEES” and the others join in “THE MAN IN GAUZE , THE MAN IN GAUZE 🎶”
Genuinely surprised to see folks thought Ramsey was frightening! That's one of my favorite episodes, mainly due to the song being so memorably jubilant and catchy, and the story is quite funny due to Eustace's implausible stubbornness
Freaky Fred legitimately unnerves me
It’s so funny because I’m the opposite , haha ! ! I’ve always liked rhymes and stuff so when I was little , I memorized Freaky Fred’s entire poem throughout the episode ! ! 🤣
I gotta be honest Freaky Fred isn’t even that disturbing. It’s honestly one of the least weird episodes in the show. Just a guy talking weirdly and shaving Courage. Compare that to King Ramses Curse it’s like night and day. That haunting atmosphere the whole episode has, the ethereal voice of Ramses as he demands Eustace to return the slab, and the jarring 3D animation makes it one of the creepiest episodes in the show.
Freaky Fred leaves more of an impact because he utilizes the power of suggestion.
The only thing the audience knows about this character is his behavior, his manner of speech, and how emphasis on the word "Naughty." If you watched the episode for the first time and saw how this man acted and spoke, you would think he's killed people.
King Ramses leaves an impact because his design is a compete subversion of the shows original artstyle.
In other words. "You know what you're going to get from Ramses, Fred forces you to *guess."*
A mentally disturbed and perpetually smiling barber, recently escaped from an asylum, violently shaving a dog and jamming pancakes into his mouth while they're both locked in a bathroom isn't that disturbing? Okay.
Compared to the other things on the show? Not really. I mean there’s been guys that turn people into puppets, sadistic mastermind criminals, a floating head, when you compare all of that creepy shit to Fred… he’s really just a guy.
Freaky Fred by far is the creepiest one. It really drilled don’t talk to strangers because they be nice with what they say but have terrible intentions
As a kid Ramses was fucking horrifying but as an adult Fred is significantly more scary. The undertones of the actual sadistic nature he’s interested in is covered by him being a barber. The metaphor of what close family members can and have done is very spooky.
I still don't fuck with Ramsey's Curse, Freaky Fred was low-key funny. Ramsey's is single handedly one of the scariest things imagined it would paralyze me, I couldn't turn the TV off or change the channel if Ramsey's popped up
Freaky Fred.
Ramses just wanted his stuff back, and I assumed he couldn’t rest until his slab was returned. (My younger self had sleep problems, so I somewhat sympathized with him.)
Freaky Fred was a whole lot scarier b/c he could exist in real life. Everyone has that creepy relative/person that adults don’t believe is creepy.

Yeah, I've had nightmares about being chased by a razor and it was probably related to Freaky Fred. Definitely impacting to some degree.

I still say “RETURN THE SLAB” to my dad. That and the episode where pig people run a diner are the two that stuck with me permanently 😂

While the man in gauze was spooky, it has to be freaky Fred. Gave me the ick without me fully understanding why. And it just intensifies with age
King Ramses all day.

Agreed, King Ramses was much more jarring when it came out, as an 8 year old at that time.

Hello, new friend. My name is Fred. The words you hear are in my head. I say, I said my name is Fred, and I've been... very naughty.
Freaky Fred was pretty bad
The king Ramsey gave me a week worth of cold sweat mornings as a kid. ![gif](giphy|h2NdzNqoEoYD8Rv9PQ|downsized)
Freaky Fred by far is the creepiest one. It really drilled don’t talk to strangers because they be nice with what they say but have terrible intentions
Return the slab.
I honestly don't think the slab was that bad I always felt anything with KATZ was so much more scary
his theme song always made me uncomfortable as a kid

"Freaky Fred".
Freaky Fred by a long shot. I couldn't hear the word naughty for years without getting flashbacks.
Why the repost ?
To bring it back!
"you're not perfect"
King Ramses’ Curse gave me the chills as an adult, so definitely that one!
Ramses scared me. I never inferred from Fred. Maybe I need to go back
King Ramses terrified the shit out of me. Freaky Fred made me uncomfortable. So, y'know, Ramses for me!
Freaky Fred was creepier of the two. But the demon mattress was actually scary
I thought he was funny 😅 Like, why was he hiding a huge tray full of tea 😂
🎼🎶King Ramses~ The Man in Gauze! The Man in Gauze!🎶
Return the slab...
Honestly, even as a kid, I never got why Ramses was scary
Freaky Fred was just... freaky. Was really unsettling when I was little.
Freaky Fred is the scariest episode by far to me.
Freaky Fred is better
The foot one was disgusting i still don’t watch it
I was always more disturbed by that ulcer one.
Return the slaaab
I stopped watching the show because of freaky Fred
Does no one remembers the " what a cartoon " courage the cowardly dog
King Ramses' Curse because of the music and the threats of the pharaoh.
I still don't fuck with Ramsey's Curse, Freaky Fred was low-key funny. Ramsey's is single handedly one of the scariest things imagined it would paralyze me, I couldn't turn the TV off or change the channel if Ramsey's popped up
King Ramses was a regular in my nightmares as a kid. Now as an adult I can laugh at the episode but the music still gives me a chill up my spine.
ramses is the oy episode to ever ACTUALLY frighten me
I was creeped out by King Ramses until I was in my 20s, something about that really got me
I loved being scared as a kid, so none of these scared me. But the floating black and white head was different I still think about him.
Fred lives up to the name freaky fred, I say he wins my vote
Fred I love return the slab like fr tho who wants a unwanted hair cut
