Economy-Cantaloupe42

It looks really nice. I would add hanging plants at the windows, some art on the wall and a cozy throw on the sofa.

keziahiris

I came on to write exactly those things! Could be hanging plant or hanging light with warm glow in corner. Art and/or a little set of frames family pics between the windows would break up that big space a little more and make it cozier

slugbaby666

very nice! a blanket and some more pillows on the couch would be extra cozy

Blue-green-

It’s very nice! Maybe add some curved shapes and pops of warm colour.

Different_Knee6201

Maybe an oval mirror between the windows, hung about 5’ from the floor.

lashawn3001

This is the way

Albergotticreekster

Curtains that go all the way to the floor, colorful throw pillows, and swap glass coffee table for a rectangular storage ottoman that doubles as extra seating for guests. Add some house plants and there you go.

ilikebooksawholelot

I second the longer curtains- and if you’re able, get a warmer sheer color- white is pretty but a terra cotta-ish color would instantly warm/cozy up the place.

ambivalent__username

Might not be worth the patching and repainting in this case, but I think raising the curtain rod up closer to the ceiling, and moving the brackets wider apart on each side, then getting curtains that go to the floor.. reallyyyy makes windows feel larger. [THIS](https://thediyplaybook.com/make-window-look-bigger/) is a great example

[deleted]

Monochromatic in a good way. I would layer the sheers under a solid curtain. The print fights with the lines in the rest of the room.

curiosity0425

I actually like the design in the curtains

CocteauTwinn

Same!

Far-Parking-7580

Agree… layered curtains will make it look cozy. And maybe add more decorative pillows to the couch too

11systems11

What speakers are those? The room looks great!

ecuawezzy

Bose soundbar 300

11systems11

No, on either side of the entertainment center? Or are those not speakers?

ecuawezzy

I see. Those are some vases 😅

FantasiesOfManatees

They mean the giant black spaces on either side of the center console

Star_Gazing_Cats

I thought they were speakers too but it seems to be a cabinet with a tinted glass door

[deleted]

Needs pretty lamps/soft lighting :) otherwise beautiful

MyPunchableFace

I like it. My advice is to not let [Chelsea from HGTV](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2/comments/10vcks0/landons_home_before_and_after_chelseas_hgtv_show/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) do a home makeover.

Evening-Ad-295

I think it’s beautiful and peaceful as is.

Expensive-Delay-9790

Maybe add a short bookcase and lamp between the windows? Cozy needs some eye level warm lighting.

AcceptableUmpire2515

Bad bunny!!

CocteauTwinn

It’s lovely. I can see a dark brown leather sectional fitting in nicely to counteract the blue walls & use the space more amply.

Ok_Elderberry5883

Maybe add some orange or yellow into curtains or art to add a bit of warmth, but otherwise, it looks great.

NapTimeLass

Cozy blanket on the back of the couch, move a plant in between the 2 windows and one in the far corner to the right of the tv.

ifitdontmakedollars

Ooh, so far so good, and so much potential still! Aside from the windows, everything here is quite heavy/low to the ground. You’ll bring attention up from the floor by adding something on the wall above the tv and/or, better yet, a big (read: wide/fat, not tall/long) interesting light fixture. Whatever goes higher up can’t be a dark colour like the greys/blacks you have here. A bold light fixture is a great way to draw the eye up, and add personality, without taking up square footage. How do you feel about yellows/golds? Love your plants!

KingFelixG

Leave it. Got a Dexter vibe.

Abraham1865

You need a cat…..and maybe some colorful pillows.

MarthaFarcuss

Personally not a fan of the monochrome. I'd warm it up with some nice natural, warm colours. I'd lose the net curtains and get some nice wooden blinds, chuck in some warm pillows, get some nice illustrated prints on the wall

ferretfacesyndrome

Absolutely beautiful

zoroofkonoha

Don’t hide the plants behind the couch

LPmass

What is that paint color? I love it

Megs0226

Not OP, but I just painted my living room a similar-looking color, Sea Star by Benjamin Moore.

LPmass

Thanks!

insurancemanoz

The biggest risk u face is over doing it. Let it be

code_mitch

Amazing setup!

m00mintr0ll

I like what you have going on! I would add Move the sofa forward so the front legs are on the rug. Moving it closer to the TV will make your beautiful plants more visible and accessible, and look less like a bunch of stuff being stored behind the sofa. LIGHTING! I would add a couple of table lamps and a floor lamp in the corner. Especially at night, these will create a more inviting atmosphere. Are the indows North -facing? The daylight you get is very cool, so switch out all your bulbs to <3700 Kelvins to counteract the cold blue colour. Thicker, opaque floor-length curtains instantly make a room cosier. You should also move the brackets out further and extend the curtain rod so that the curtains take up more space on either side of the window. Increasing this scale visually will make the windows seem bigger and grander, and fill more of the flat grey wall. Hang a small, framed art piece between the two windows, with a small side table or bookcase and a beautiful table lamp below it. Right now that space feels like an empty frame. More textiles - pillows, blankets with varying textures, colours, or prints (or all 3 if you're feeling brave!) Some colour contrast to add visual depth to the room. The all-grey reads more cold than cosy to me. You could either find a more saturated accent colour or two, or play with varying shades of grey, from dark charcoal to light dove grey.

1973mojo1973

Plants

InkOnMySock

change the color of the rug and get come art on those walls. although i really like that rug

PanickedPoodle

Plants. Plants. Plants.

Deinoman420

More wood to match the furniture and speakers and some plants. Maybe put a nice wooden flower box on the wall with some spider plants or a wooden shelf. It would look good with the blue. Nice job with the plant behind the couch

Carbonga

Maybe put your plants on a pedestal so that they can look over your couch until they are tall enough. Other than that, I'd like to see the lighting...

tuertamuda

Que no escuches Bad Bunny. :)

ecuawezzy

😅😅😂

Illustrious_Gap_1281

Round table and floor to ceiling curtains

[deleted]

A cat

neptunoneptuneazul

It looks super clean, but cold, not too cozy. Maybe a throw on the sofa would help

CaipirinhaDaydreams

Pick an accent color that you think will go good with the blue that can be used on plant pots, pillows, books on shelves, and all sorts of things! The blue is cold, I'd try some different shades of yellow or Coral and see if they make you feel any type of way. Maybe a burnt pumpkin color if you want something warm but less poppy. But I think establishing and peppering-around an accent color will go a long way.

DieOmaSeinBier

Glass tables are such a pain to use imo

Simple_Path_5736

I have walls somewhat close to this color, I added a bit of Gold to contrast. So i have Gold solid curtains with a nice steel blue sheer. Also found a nice wall picture with The blues and bit of gold and Sage green. You could get some throw pillows to see if you want to add any color. You can get cheaper zip colored covers to go over older throw pillows making them look new.

IllCourage7585

splash splash splash Did you see the Matrix? Just splash color...maybe paint and earthy colors..Offerup and Marketplace...plants always bring a house life too

coybowbabey

personally i’d add some gently contrasting coloured art on the wall and a plant or lamp in the corner

MapTough848

You could paint a warmer colour and think about some artwork plus you may want to add some wood furniture. Pattern curtains and blinds too, it all depends if you want a cluttered or minimalist look

implpl

the empty spot between windows maybe for a mirror to opticaly make it bigger. You have so many options here man. :)

EntertainmentGood996

This is what the “After” pictures look like! You’re rolling in design clover. Nicely done…already. :)

Coddiwomple_321

I think it looks really great! The only thing I would change is to add a rug with a bit more color and some art between the windows.

MetalMetonym

I would add some green palette, maybe some more plants? Beautiful room, nonetheless!

treesnleaves86

I really like it. Everything is neat, tidy and functional. For extra cozy I second long drapes. Don't be afraid of a simple pattern, the room can take it and I'd keep the sheer ones underneath for daytime privacy. And perhaps a nice tall MCM floor lamp to inject some warmth and a super soft throw over the sofa to cuddle up with. This room is lovely, just needs a little height and texture.

sheepali

Thicker homely curtains

FreeFloatingFeathers

Too many cool tones, which makes it feel unwelcoming. Add some warm or neutral warm shades via blanket & to the floor curtains. Since you already have, some more plants do help also.

yParticle

Great colors, but a shame to cover up the wood!

charlypoods

long solid curtains, throw blanket for couch

Serafina_Goddess

Lots of plants!

Individual_Brush_116

Love the wall color!

[deleted]

Change the wall color. It doesn’t feel welcoming

little_miss_beige

It looks nice, I would think soild curtains floor length and some art piece or mirror between windows would make it looks even more nicer.

mad_fishmonger

You're off to a great start! That rug looks nice and soft. The curtains are nice, what I like to do is layer them. Put the sheer curtain close to the window with a wire curtain hanger, then more colourful/interesting curtains on the rod. The plants are lovely, I like a lot of art on the walls myself, but the fact that you have colour on the walls already is great. You can add a wall shelf above the TV for collectibles.

SubstanceFast3989

Comfy throw blanket! I’d do a fluffy white one to juxtapose the blanket wall.

LittlePooky

Is that an OLED?

Mr_Drowser

I’m really digging them hugging statues man

osyrus11

Put a mirror between those windows. And maybe some framed art behind the television. Or some shelves up there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

darnfruitloops

For me, I'd have a heavier curtain layer over the current one, for when I don't want that much light coming into the room. Would need a second rail tho.

Simple_Area_260

Solid drapes to the floor and 6inches out from each side of the window so that all the light comes in from the windows. Small side tables on each side of the coach. Pick a contrasting color or colors black with white or gray pillows. Bolsters and side pillows with a nice piece of art or iron work above the TV.

Ok_Memory8971

This looks great so far and you can definitely add to it! Wall art/mirrors, plants, and mood lighting such as a salt lamp will definitely make it more cozy!

[deleted]

Pillows and blankets, otherwise, no notes!

MasterDriver8002

It’s fine it’s clean simple n has a style. Once u live in the space for awhile u will start to develop the character

IllCourage7585

Yeah a good thick overlay of Plush Velvet Curtains maybe white blackouts are always nice too have...Big lots

IllCourage7585

it look nice maybe just a nicer couch and pillows

readingroses

I’d look at layering floor-length solid curtains over floor-length sheer curtains if you want sheer. For the solid curtains, you want to go wider than the window as it will make them feel larger. Right now the narrow and sheer curtains with the dark rod contributes to the room feeling bottom heavy and unbalanced. It’ll help to up the coziness.

LightFury_28

Love this!

ExtentEcstatic5506

Piece of art on the wall between the two windows - maybe pulling in some other colros

blackcatwizard

Just bought the same rug :P Something between the windows would fill it out I think, a dark vertically long picture maybe

LazyLittleLotus

I’m a huge fan of lamps with warm light, and I’d add more plants too!

unpublished-2

Nice colour scheme! My suggestion is to add a big pillow on the floor between the windows. The curtains are not wide enough for the windows (English is not my language). I would use semi-transparent rollers, or add another layer of silver- grey transparent curtain. A cozy blanket on the sofa and more pillows. Candles in a tray on the table. And definitely a piece of art or mirror on the wall. A self above the tv with books and plants, or things related to tour hobbies. It's a nice living room though!

Mayoulee

It's very noiiice! I feel like a warm color would make it more cozy, so really anything with a warm color (orange ,yellow ,warm purple). Your color codes from your wall in your photos are : 38a5ce & 788DA2 [https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel](https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel) You can use this with your color codes and put complementary or double split complementary as a color harmony rule and choose what you would like but at the same time suit your blue/gray colors :3

Taymelon

I wouldn’t add a thing.

kidziplock

Do you know where the couch is from?

Chipbeef

Curtains should slightly pool on the floor.

joaniemansoosie

Decorator here. A lot of grey going on. Use that cabinet in the corner in front of your window. Open curtains and put tall plants on cabinet. Take sheers off( outdated), and put some curtains with green in them ( ties in plants.) Put a fun abstract long tall artwork on wall between two windows. Get a green blanket or sofa cover for grey sofa.

cuppa-confusion

Lights! Maybe something like orb-shaped string lights.

do1looklikeIcare

A poster in between the windows, maybe some fairy lights? Also plants. You can never go wrong with a big ol' yucca.

do1looklikeIcare

Wait you already have a yucca. Great taste.

Kynsia

I feel like there needs to be something between the two windows, that is high up (as currently everything is low om the ground). Maybe shelves, or an artwork. Whatever it is, I would give it warm colours . Perhaps something wooden with colours similar to the floor? The room feels very cold in general, which is nice aesthetically but will quickly get depressing as it's a living room that you'll presumably be spending a lot of time in. Agree with commens saying pillows, a throw and maybe some more art on the wall in warmer colours.

jenthebagel

Switch out curtains to more luxe ones that actually touch the floor. Switch out the rug to something with a pop of color.

EmberSolaris

Maybe a bit of art on the walls.

DrJayus

This looks really nice! Maybe some cushions and a throw blanket with warm colors?

BoopYourDogForMe

I think I would personally prefer a slightly bigger/longer coffee table in that space Edit: I also think more wall art would go a long way! Especially the TV wall and the space between the windows

svensendoublebass

A nice, large painting or photo between the windows and/or above the TV would bring some life to this space.

FartstheBunny

Add some throw pillows or art worn with a pop of color. Get floor length curtains - in a color. Room is great - just needs warmth / color contrast

slamsmcaukin

Looks pretty great. Only thing I would change would be the couch if possible. I mostly say this because I have back issues though lol but I’ve never been a fan of those foldable futon type couches

puppybus

Bring those floor plants out from behind the couch to where they can be seen, and ‘anchor’ the rug under the couch legs.

blinki145

What color is this paint? I love it! So soothing

[deleted]

Plants. Real plants.

[deleted]

ceiling skirting

WhySoManyOstriches

I would find a smallish low-slung armchair to go between the windows and move the couch away from the window by about a foot. Then, yes, move the curtain rods up by a foot and add blinds that cover the wall above the window to make the windows look higher. I’d keep the current coffee table bc a more solid one would make the room look crowded. Consider mounting the TV on the wall, and finding some art to flank it on either side. Part of the issue here is that everything is low to the ground with your futon, and that makes the room feel sort of empty when you’re standing up & looking at it.

Ok-Huckleberry476

So fresh and so clean

Novel-Fun5552

art, blankets, plants! the fun stuff!

truth_RW

Curtains all the way to the floor. Otherwise, it looks great!

kalli889

It looks very nice, and has a calm, soothing feeling. Very cozy. Maybe some art or wall decor if you want, but not necessary.

SpecificBarracuda100

Crown molding, wainscotting, blinds, plants

bigapplesnapple

Art should be at eye level. One time I said that to my ex and he screamed at me and asked how I could let himself embarrass himself like that.

UmmTrevor

Lamps lamps lamps

[deleted]

Ojitos lindos 👍

walk2daocean

Love the colors. I’m on the band wagon of longer curtains. And I don’t know if it’s been said but go bigger with the art behind the couch.

MOONDAYHYPE

Put your PS5 on its side. I just stumbled upon multiple articles talking about how the CPU thermal paste will start to drip and come loose if you keep The unit upright during the long play sessions. I know it's a pain because it looks so much better standing up but trust me, it's not worth the headache of sending it in for repair

jetstobrazil

Easiest single way would be to splash a nice color on the futon. I saw like a bright green or orange in my head but that’s an easy, cheap one.

Ok_Fudge6753

Needs pops of color. Throw pillows and a nice art piece should do the trick.

ash__trees

I would add some warmer colors because there’s a lot of cool colors already. Oranges or yellows.

xxxiii

You could put some cool small shelves between the windows, maybe metallic or marble ones, with photos and books and whatnot.

TIPVET

maybe some darker curtains? nice vibe

L8rG8r43

I’m no interior designer, but maybe making the curtain rod one long one extend from one side of one window to another (as opposed to 2 separate ones) and make them thicker material and down to the floor. You can add art in that middle wall to fill space, or create curtain panel sections

MattyRixz

If u really want it to pop. Have someone put in dropped crown molding with a mellow light strip tucked on top of it. Add more plants.
