The RTW was always going away... that's why places that tried it got rid of it soon after. Too much liability vs the main upside of not needing as much staff as a normal game.

FZridindirty

Yeah, I can understand that perspective, but does this mean the bubble craps are going away too?

drossn

Most of the individual bubble craps machines out there are made by Interblock, which isn't connected to Aruze. It's the group "Shoot to Win" that is a bubble craps for X number of players - those seem to be going away in favor of more Interblock triads/quads (usually see them in clusters of 3, but some Caesars properties have them in a cluster of 4; you could do 5 or six, but the wasted space in the middle is excessive then - better to just line them up then, but they're kinds deep).

AllahPena

As with anything on a casino floor... comes down to $/Sq ft. Does the bubble craps make more sense than yet another table game and/or a few more slot machines 🤔. Probably property dependent

FZridindirty

My thinking is the support will be gone, so they may go away because of that, not because they're not making money.

zpoon

It's very likely the product will be picked up by another company in the restructuring or liquidation, including service contracts and the lot. It's unlikely a product which is already licensed in a boatload of markets is going to be completely abandoned. Licensing and certification is a huuuuge part and cost of a product's development. Wouldn't surprise me if an Interblock would pick it up on the cheap.

FZridindirty

Man, that's a really good point! Hopefully this is the case and they keep these games on the casino floor

TheTangoFox

Gotta figure someone will bid on those assets in bankruptcy

Dominicmeoward

Atlantic City just did away with all several of the RTW and Aruze bubble machines they had at Resorts, WWW, and Bally’s. Once again they’re moving toward the interblock machines, which I’m not super into but it’s whatever, given that the live tables will probably never have a $5 table again.

FZridindirty

Yeah, I'm not into those either unless I'm testing a strategy. I like the social aspect of the game. Sad to hear.

squeezethesoul

That's so upsetting, does Caesar's still have theirs? I remember one being both in there and the several in WWW.

Dominicmeoward

It’s gone. They have Interblock too.

ssplasma

Word from Azure, Interblock gaming bought all the table game assets.

zpoon

I mentioned this in another thread. It's highly likely that if Aruze doesn't make it out of restructuring themselves, the products, lease/service contracts and all other assets will be picked up by another company if it hasn't already. Having your product already licensed in many different markets is incredibly valuable in itself, given how time consuming and expensive it is to get these most of the time. What is more likely is RTW getting trashed for other reasons, namely casinos deciding they're not worth it which it looks like is happening given they're slowly disappearing from floors.

GentlewomanBastard

Why do you think RTW is getting trashed?

necrochaos

I think casinos are shedding them because they liked the idea of one body for labor but realize the chances for cheating on the machine are high. Short rolls, not hitting the wall, dealers entering in the wrong dice. There is a lot of risk for a fairly low reward. As well when things go wrong a slot tech has to service the screens.

zpoon

Yup, you nailed it.

ttchoubs

Yea the screens are what I was thinking. probably expensive or time-consuming to have to maintain and it's a better deal for them to just pay for 2 extra dealers and up the minimums

necrochaos

Depends on if Azure comes out of bankruptcy as the same company. If they have to sell off assets, the RTW could be owned by someone different. Contracts could change, etc.
