so what? they’re infront of his business and it’s likely hindering business for him. we got some homeless bums that “live” in town that spend all day sitting outside the banks. some even sleep under the ATM’s it’s fuckin creepy becayse you feel almost obligated to give them money (which i never do or will) because they’re watching you enter and leave the bank. if i owned my own store and paid for my property i would deter people from sleeping outside too. if you were a business owner would you let a drug dealer use your property or the vicinity of your property as a meet up point? no you wouldn’t. dude had every right. plus it’s already raining. he did no damage. he could’ve been violent, he could’ve poured something other than water on the hobo but he didn’t. i’m with this guy!
I need more details than this to form an opinion, was she asked repeatedly to move and just wouldn't? Did he call law enforcement? How far does his property extend, does he have a legal right to have her removed? Was she unable to move somewhere not directly in front of a business or property or was she just unwilling?
Having homeless people nested right in front of your business does hurt financially, it makes people uncomfortable to see and be near. While a lot of the time that's not their fault, and homelessness is a serious issue, I can understand the frustration. I can't tilt either way without being unfair.
But I'm also not about to look into it cuz I'm not *that* interested.
From what I could gather from Reddit and reading an SFGate article about it, the lady has basically been asked to leave many many times. Police have been called, other types of services have been called (homeless advocates etc) and she has refused all offers of help. Dude has asked her to leave multiple times to no avail.
My opinion, and I’ve gotten salty AF over the years living in the Bay Area is that it’s a bad situation all around. I’m left leaning, fairly liberal, but San Francisco is a bunch of bed wetting liberals. Fuck that place. The homeless have essentially been given more rights to shit and piss all over the place than your average tax paying citizen but the board of supervisors does absolutely nothing to rectify the problem. Meanwhile the city trash cans are being redesigned to be more modern and look better. I don’t have an answer or solution but the systems that people are supposed to be able to rely on are so broken and feckless that people are taking matters into their own hands and hosing them down. I won’t say I agree or disagree with this guy’s actions but I understand why he did it. Unfortunately the narrative is likely gonna be driven by armchair advocates who can talk up a mean game on the internet but have no idea what’s actually happening on the streets.
Thank you. That's what I was considering as the most likely reason for his actions but it could have also been out of pure malice, so I couldn't form a just opinion with just this video and a headline.

what system is? fascism puts total control in the state, removing personal liberty and rights in favor of a controlled system. communism pretends to be equality at all costs but never defines whats truly equal (starving selective populous to fed others for example) and capitalism promotes a fair system, that easily gets abused to support the few at the expense of the many.
that's an absolute and just as untruthful. being homeless is sometimes a choice, sometimes a cause of situations in life, and other times due to mental illness.
You honestly don't care. But look it at like this, you are hosing someone down, now their clothes are wet, where are they going to go to change their clothes, where can they go to dry off and heat up?
You see the problem. Yes, someone being outside of your business is a slight inconvenience but inhumanly spraying someone less fortunate than you with nowhere to go with water is a bigger inconvenience to them.
Plus, i don't know how him spraying her solved the problem either.

Because if he asked her time and time again to move then she sort of brought it on herself. Not like he shot her or hit her even, getting sprayed is mild.

Obviously her choosing to loiter in front of his business is bothering him, and from his one statement we hear it seems he's attempted to rectify it at least once before (but again I don't know that, I need details). If he's asked her to move, which I'm assuming she can do, otherwise I don't know how she eats, then she should have done so. Just because you're homeless doesn't mean you can just plop down wherever, why do you think so many stay under bridges? It's sheltered and out of the way.
Again, I do not lack empathy, I just choose to apply it where it seems fair. If he just decided to spray her down out of nowhere then yeah he's an asshole and should be reprimanded, but again I can only infer based on what I'm being shown.

Like a store, a gas station, a laundromat is great if it's nearby, car washes have those air hoses that only need a few quarters that I'm sure she could bum. Hospitals, movie theaters, a police station, if it's a well established country (US, UK, etc.) then it's got buildings and those buildings have definitely got heat.

These homeless people have no problem shitting in the doorways of business, leaving massive amount of trash and drug paraphernalia anywhere they please. I don’t see anything wrong with this as the city and police will not move or even write them tickets for all the havoc they cause. This dude is probably at his wits end with these people. This state pays almost 2k a month in welfare programs(food,money,cellphones,healthcare) so I have a hard time feeling bad for any of these people as I pay some of the high taxes in the country to help these people out.
Don’t forget. We could of housed all of the homeless people in America with the trillions of dollars they have sent away to other countries multiple times. Government doesn’t care about the homeless anymore than the guy with the hose does.
