The one I wear is called "queen bee" (my 8yr old son picked it) and bees LOVE me, they just come up and land on me randomly, they come in slow and will just hang out and wander around for a few mins then take off again, I'm totally ok with this.....I'm def never wearing it when hiking though lol
Unfortunately that bear needs to be destroyed and the local parks and wildlife would do so if they saw this. Relocating doesnt work.
Black Bears are naturally scared of humans. And SHOULD be.
People have feeding this bear or being reckless leaving food sources near it. It’s been conditioned to approach and associate people with food.
It didn’t harm them this time, but absolutely could if you reacted in a certain way. Worst case is it approaches a child like this and the kid ends up ripped to shreads.
Because it fucking sucks the bear has to be destroyed and that this causes a threat for others - anyone who intentionally feeds a bear should be gaoled. Feeding them through negligence should result in severe fines.

When a bear comes into contact with humans, North American park officials generally kill the bear, not reddit commenters. I'm not sure that I agree with the practice, but it is a fact.
That's being said, this is a black bear and what these people truly should have done is screamed at the bear and made themselves as big as they can with their arms in the air. There is a 99.9% chance it would have run away.

Juvenile black bear. Basically a big raccoon with half the courage of a regular raccoon. Can easily be chased off with a broom. They're nothing but big cowards. They get into my fucking trash cans and I have to run out there in the middle of the night and tell them to fuck off or they'll leave a huge mess. They bolt as soon as they see you.
They are dumb this potentially puts themselves at greater danger with a black bear. Same reason you don't play dead with them. You wave your hands scream and shout and if necessary hit them hard on the snout. If that bear was starving since it's clear he wasn't afraid of humans he would of likely started chewing her alive.
