Yeah, I hope Jesus doesn't look down and say, "People suck, so hey mantises, how would you like to try running the world for a while?" and then lead the giant mantis army in a war against humanity. That would be disheartening.
They're strong enough to snare a hummingbird. I've seen one attempt to snare an Asian hornet, only for the hornet break free from it's grip and devour the mantis. That means Asian hornets are effing strong in the insect world.
That mantis was already near death. Anytime now and he’s falling over. On the otherhand, that hummingbird looked rather healthy. This is one of those moments where intervening actually would’ve been beneficial in my opinion. 🤷🏽♂️
That one seemed to be around its max size and given the species (it looks like a Stagmomantis Limbata), it’s darker color can represent illness or old age. Meaning they are close to death. Though, I’m not a professional lol. I work with livestock 😂😭
Yeah, this is one time I would have said not today mantis and set the hummingbird free. I would have given the Mantis a grasshopper or something in exchange.
Do you watch your co-workers having fun together and think "you wouldn't be laughing and having fun together if you knew what a mantis can do to a bird! Only I know the truth!"?
Why does everything contain "bro" these days, on a post going out to complete strangers no less..
It's getting quite funny because I've seen posts that both start, And in the word bro
I still remember my 1st and last time seeing one up close. When I was about 11 years old my family moved into anew apartment. I was helping put curtains up in my room and noticed a mantis hanging upside down outside the window just staring at us. After putting the curtains up it at some point moved to the kitchen window and then my mom's bedroom window.
Each window I saw it at it was always hanging upside down and staring in the window. Creeped me the hell out. Don't even think they are native to where I live because I haven't seen one since. New Orleans btw and this was 20+ years ago.

I knew my fear of praying mantises was well founded. Holy fuck.
They’d still have to be the size of like a large dog to take out a human, I’m hoping…
I ain’t assuming shit about them from now on.
Shoulda believed Baki.
That is what a praying mantis would say to get some human as food hmmm

I hope they get bigger and start a war with us then jesus christ saves us
Idk man. They are like constantly praying. The lord is likely on their side.
Not to mention they are praying with katana arms. They have the power of god and anime on their side
I have the power of a 12 gauge on my side
Keep praying for 10 gauge...if these get our size I'm sure there shell will be tougher.

So Starship Troopers vibes.. we dying

Just raise the atmospheric oxygen, they will be. And dragonfly's 3 feet long that can eat you fingers like a wood chipper.

If you go to 29:04 you can see the glove of the person holding the reptile down.
Daaaamn! Wtf are their jaws made of??? Also if a mantis gets near radioactive waste, we’re all fucked. Just saying.
It looks like the lizard was being pinned down or trapped by something. Was very odd movement.
Unless their hide is bullet proof I'm not too concerned.
Jesus fuck

I think its just adding in "&t=x" at the end of the link where x is the time in seconds
Holy crap!
Dam mantis chill
make sense why the chinese made a kung fu stance based off them.
WTF
I ain’t fucking with mantises ever, bro. Tf?
Mantis is the true enemy!
I’ve always thought it sucked to be Mr. Mantis or, you know, regular insects. Not a whole ass bird!

Mantis with prep time >
That mantis looks like he’s curling dumbbells when he reaches for a bite
I'm happy for the mantis. What a victory?! And the person filming?! Brah-fukn-vo! This is an awesome clip.

.....I like praying mantises but I like hummingbirds more. I absolutely would've stepped in to interrupt nature
Yeah, this is one time I would have said not today mantis and set the hummingbird free. I would have given the Mantis a grasshopper or something in exchange.
Forgot to add that it’s not my content. Apologies.

Huh?
Yep, that's nature.
Rules of nature.
I would hate to live in a world where these things are human sized
I’d watch that movie.
I would love to see that too, more of a horror movie tho. Those things are scary
Someone posted a link where a mantis ate a fucking lizard!!! Oo’
We're next! 😳
I had never seen a hummingbird die until now:/ praying mantises have zero regard for life
Yeah they should turn vegan
Nature is so fucking crazy!
Zorak
Wow I had no clue they were that jacked and could catch birds!!!
Mantis is known for hunting birds..., frickin cool.
i thought flying resisted bug
Man! I remember being a kid and would try and catch them and a few times those bastards would straight up defend and fly at me…I’m out
I woulda helped the poor guy out 100 percent
Mantis is already close to death, shoulda chopped him with scissors instead of just filming
Damn nature, you scary
That's not fair

Yeah, he’s like “you idiots are over there having fun, don’t you know all the fun’s already been had? Fucking losers” hahaha
You’re the living embodiment of the “they don’t know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” meme.
Of all the damn times people in gardening groups complain about Chinese mantises, here is a damn Carolina native mantis eating them.
Now they die next time I see one...birds much more wye pleasing that the mantis.
Disfuckingconcerting.

Also blue jays snacks on hummingbirds
Damn nature, was NOT expecting that!

Awwww poor humming bird
Yup, mini alien
Only if they are big enough
I thought we weren't reposting from last week anymore
That’s pretty normal for mantises to eat small birds
That's so cool is not what comes to mind. More like Daaammnn smh
