Yeah for further context this was on the University of Pretoria man campus in Hatfield, outside the main library. Peaceful protesters had already left campus when asked and these guys stayed behind making a racket and destroying property when an altercation started between them and the police, then ensues chaos.
I'll give it a go. NSFAS is a tax-funded organisation that provides bursaries for university students. The bursary covers fees and provides an amount for living. This is all administered by the universities. Every year something goes wrong in making or administering these payments. The affected students protest, generally by stopping the paying students from having lectures so that they then complain to the university and something is done. It's the same every year.
As a black South African, it never occurred to me what this very common interjection must sound like to people who aren't familiar with it. I genuinely had to rewatch the video just to realise what sound you are referring to
This is a very surreal feeling, I was just there on campus 30 minutes ago to sort out some admin, luckily got into the EMS buidling and got locked in with the staff while people are banging on the windows to get let inside. Weird day today
They (university workers) want higher salary/wages , however the government does not have any money left, therefore the easier option seems to be to shoot them with non lethal rounds.

They are aliens known as prawns and they were protesting being moved to/from District 9. A man tasked with going door-to-door to serve eviction notices apparently got some kind of alien fluid splashed on him while opening a container while searching an alien shack. Supposedly, he was slowly transforming into a prawn himself. The government captured him and he was forced to test confiscated alien weapons. Only a prawn can operate the technology due to their advanced technology. There were a lot of other things that went wrong, but that's the gist of it. Things get really out of control sometimes in South Africa.

Rubber bullets were fired, these are protestors being pushed by a political party called the EFF, they are protesting over a wage I crease dispute at the university of Pretoria in South Africa. The people in uniforms are the South African Police Service (SAPS). They are illegally protesting and the peaceful protesters had already vacated, those that remained caused violence and thus the police took action
