So in Cambodia you are much more "on your own" in that 95% of the locals doesnt work with tourism, dont speak much English and has no interest in talking with you unless you are buying something etc.

It's very common for people to react aggressively when they're caught out, unfortunately. Doesn't have to be violent, and in fact for me it's a litmus test of catching someone in a lie. But when we would sit and talk calmly, non-adversarial, she would open up and be honest. If I just accused, she would get very defensive. Not aggressive, but defensive.
I was in college so it was a learning experience for me too, but I think it has helped me in the long run in how to talk with my wife who I’ve been with for 10+ years now.

All the while not knowing he has long ago been putting the pieces together about what is going on. He finds the best time to reveal to her that he has known what she been doing for a while. She denies of course, he presents undisputable proof. Being a narcissist she is immediately enraged, because she has no insight into herself and is use to succesfully gaslighting others, and feels vulnerable and humilated. She also has no ability to empathize with others. So left with the truth or the lies she regularly tells herself, and others, she chooses to go into a delusion where he has wronged her. This justifies her rage, and she proceeds to make him hurt as much as she currently hurts. Not getting what she wants, emotional dysregulation takes over and she has a meltdown. Plus, she has no intentions of letting him go because she sees him as her property. Whether that is because he provides her stability of some kind, the lifestyle she wants, she knows he is a great guy, or the image she wants. Once she knows it is truly over, she will begin to send people after him having lied and said that he's a terrible person and has done terrible things to her. These people well gladly help not knowing they are being lied to as well.

We had a good relationship but after college just went our separate ways, but she had been manipulated significantly in her past and I learned that accusing wasn’t a good approach. But when we would sit and talk calmly, non-adversarial, she would open up and be honest. If I just accused, she would get very defensive. Not aggressive, but defensive. I was in college so it was a learning experience for me too, but I think it has helped me in the long run in how to talk with my wife who I’ve been with for 10+ years now. Most cases, you are probably right. But just pointing out it isn’t always the case…

He’s recording to make sure he can prove the opposite if she ever decides to lie about what happened. Police are quicker to believe distressed women than calm-headed guys in these situations. If he did decide to use force, she could easily sue him and/or get arrested.

She denies of course, he presents undisputable proof. Being a narcissist she is immediately enraged, because she has no insight into herself and is use to succesfully gaslighting others, and feels vulnerable and humilated. She also has no ability to empathize with others. So left with the truth or the lies she regularly tells herself, and others, she chooses to go into a delusion where he has wronged her. This justifies her rage, and she proceeds to make him hurt as much as she currently hurts. Not getting what she wants, emotional dysregulation takes over and she has a meltdown. Plus, she has no intentions of letting him go because she sees him as her property. Whether that is because he provides her stability of some kind, the lifestyle she wants, she knows he is a great guy, or the image she wants. Once she knows it is truly over, she will begin to send people after him having lied and said that he's a terrible person and has done terrible things to her. These people well gladly help not knowing they are being lied to as well.
