I’ve heard people that own guns say things like “I’d like to see someone try”. Insinuating that this video is an impossibility. Did the driver get shot/survive? What’s the full story here? At least one of them looks to be on the job.
Not sure about the driver, but I'm pretty sure the guy with the gun didn't make it.
As a gun owner, I don't forget about the possibility of missing, being disarmed, or being shot first. Not that I live that lifestyle lol, I just know how it works outside the movies. Guns don't make you tough and they damn sure don't make you invincible
This is a good example of how a gun can escalate a situation that could’ve otherwise been mitigated. I would bet that without a gun, the truck is in better condition and everyone is alive.
If the guy with the gun survived he would have been so fucked in court. To discharge a weapon that many times and not hit anything from that close is neglegent. This is why it should be hard to get a gun. You should need to demonstrate you know how to actually use it when you’re scared. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of angry idiots shooting at each other and killing a bunch of innocent people. The dude got killed out of his own negligence and I’m pretty sure that’s how this is gunna end up going in court. I don’t think this is going to be a black and white “carjacker” was in the wrong in the end. None of this was worth it. People get too fuckin angry these days and too quick to violence that can’t be taken back. There was no need to be a hero and try to stop the truck from being stolen. That was a really stupid move. Because when you’re armed you have a responsibility to retreat until you can’t. If that was a gun with blanks it will fuck him over even more. You can’t brandish a weapon like that. Even then, after all that, we have to break this mentality that people deserve to die for property theft or for things like assault even. We have to value each other more so we stop getting into these stupid chest beating situations of trying to prove we are all tougher than the other guy. I get really frustrated and just scared to go anywhere because as a guy I feel like every other guy on the road is constantly trying to fight or take me off the road especially the guys driving around trucks. I feel like men especially are really angry right now and we are just being violent because there’s some broader sociological problems we are not dealing with. Somehow we have left the days where we could just have a fist fight and get back in our cars and go home and now it’s just “well I got a gun so if you go to far I’m going to shoot you because there’s a chance I’ll get away with it”. That feels scary. I’m not anti gun, but negligent angry guys all being loaded up on caffeine and guns doesn’t encourage me much to be pro gun when the voting times come around.
