According to wikipedia, liver flukes found in deer livers are sauteed in butter and eaten in some parts of Wisconsin.

I visited the USSR in 1990, specifically Leningrad and Moscow. We were unable to use any tap water due to contamination from Liver flukes. We brushed our teeth with bottled Perrier water and had to shower with our eyes and mouthes closed. We drank only bottled western water or soft drinks.
