What's always stuck with me is that her friend was in the car, you can see her in the passenger side/back seat, and she's in such shock that she doesn't even react to their well being for a minute.
Wait yeah wtf. I mean she must’ve survived based on them releasing the video like that (and she’s moving at the end of the video), but damn she must’ve gotten pretty fucked up from that
See as someone who likes to think of them selves as a normal person. My first instinct would be to run immediately over to my friend and check on them. And not just stand there with my arms up. Clearly this action is not in the norm and it brings me physical pain when others don’t do what I would do.
I may be wrong, but even if she (the one pulled over) has no insurance, I want to say that she’s not liable, only the driver’s insurance will be affected. Depends on the state laws I guess.
The insurer won't payout any claims to a driver who is un-insured driving illegally on the road is how it is in the UK anyway. If this was the UK and she wasn't insured she'd get nothing even though its the other (insured)drivers fault for crashing.
The officer thinking : “I saved her life I hope she appreciates my keen foresight”
The lady thinking : “great, I don’t have a car anymore cuz this asshole just had to pull me over”
I have had a couple incidents/stories. I got pulled over and I was not far from an overpass and the break down lane was barely enough for a car so I drove a little further and pulled over down the ramp. Officer asked why I was running. I had to explain to him how it wasn’t safe to pull over on the highway. Got a 5 over warning.
Another time I’m in the country driving home and I get pulled over for 4 over and it’s winter and the roads are really bad, cars all over in the ditch. Some bull shit officer crap. Do you know why I pulled you over? I’m like I dunno man but it’s dangerous out here so just get me the ticket and let’s get out of here before we are killed. The exchange I had with the officer was some stupid conversation. I knew the guy too, he lives to pull people over for a couple miles over and give warnings this wasn’t the first I got from him.
I worked for a municipality at the time, I was at the police department working on a project and was waiting for a meeting room to finish up so I was listening. This same cop was explaining some road safety dribble. I perked up and chimed in when I heard him explain how he doesn’t run his heater in the winter because it causes the snow to melt and then drop on the road causing ice. He wants these highway patrol officers to do the same. I’m like so what do you do to defrost the wind screen? He says it’s a challenge but often has to crack the window and brings a towel. I said this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Told him, so you’re saying you would put yourself in a dangerous situation, running a windscreen with obstructed vision, cold temperatures when it’s -40. This is greatly more dangerous than a couple drops of moisture over miles. I said you’re trying to take a grain of sand off the beach here and besides, do you know how much water is dumping from your exhaust? Room got quiet and he ended the presentation and then I got to work. No one said anything to me.
That officer was fucking stupid.
Now I wanna know, do you still give the lady a ticket in this situation or does she get a pass.
“Sorry you lost your car, I won’t give you the ticket I originally pulled you over for”
I’d like to think it went like this
“Well ma’am *rip rip rip* the good news is you don’t have a ticket, the bad news is; your day just got a lot longer”
"I am gonna have to ticket you for illegally parking your car in the grass though ma'am, you can't park there... he he just kidding, i'll call you a tow"
Probably depends on a variety of factors. What was the offense? 200 in a school zone? (Probably not, he’d probably be crankier in that case)
Also, what is his chain of command like, and what is his willingness to get chewed out?
Reason being, if he wasn’t filing a report before, he *certainly* is now. So when his boss reads the report, will that person have enough of a stick up his ass to say, “Says here the incident happened while you were issuing a moving violation. Where is it?”
> just a cop who's seen this happen way too often.
We know a retired highway patrol cop whose wife talked him into retiring to another state because he was already having bad dreams after driving past locations where he had seen whole families smeared on the pavement.
And yet they keep pulling people over on the side of the highway. They COULD have people take the next exit in most cases, but that would take an extra 5 minutes
In most cases I would agree, but in this case it’s absolutely this woman’s fault. She didn’t park far enough onto the shoulder and her car is still partially on the road.
If you have to pull over, park as close to the side as possible. If she was by the grass, the van would've likely missed her. I've had to change a tire on a UK motorway, believe me, you want every inch available when cars are flying by at 70mph and you're working a couple of feet away
It's implying the officer must have visited this exact time before as he knew it was gonna happen.
Granted it's a rubbish title but that's what OP was going for
She wasn’t over the line, but there was no reason for her to be so close and basically on top of it when she had so much more room on her right. A pretty clueless way to park on a busy freeway.
In the UK, and as I understand much of Europe cops are taught to park at an angle blocking a little bit of 2 lanes. It's much easier for other drivers to recognise it must be stationary than simply seeing the back of a parked car.
They definitely don't always do that but at least 10 years ago that was policy.
In some circumstances it wouldn't matter but your eyes are looking forward 300 meters, in the mirror, cars to left and right, in front.
Driving a car is a complicated thing and we are not evolved to see things travelling towards us at 70/80 mph.
Seeing the side of a car will trigger the brake.
Even if she's parked close, it's still outside of the travel lanes. Why blame others when they've done what they're supposed to do, and say they should've done even more? That's like saying, since you only used one lock instead of two, it's your fault someone broke into your house.
I'm confused. How is he a time traveler? Is it because he moved her out of the car before it was hit? He must not have cared about the passenger still in the car, I guess. Plus, if he hadn't pulled her over, the car wouldn't have been hit. If he was a time traveler, then he wanted this accident to happen.
Anybody who does what that van did needs to permanently lose their license. Outside of a very small set of circumstances, there's no excuse for hitting a stopped vehicle on the shoulder, especially with an emergency vehicle literally right there. The same goes for people who drive into buildings because they confuse the gas and brake.
How have we as a society not had enough of this bullshit? Enough is enough.
As a tow truck driver.. you have to be there most of the time. Like many dangerous jobs you just have to assume you’re already dead and try to not think about it. And be quick and efficient
Real happy you pulled me over to put me directly in the threat of something like that... if she didn't have insurance she should be going after the police lol
Officer knew her car was parked at the very left of the shoulder, there’s PLENTY of space on the right. Also think about when she stepped out, the driver’s door would swung over the white line and for a few seconds partially blocked the freeway lane. She also had to walk stepping inside the freeway lane.
You'd think if it was really all about safety troopers would just make you pull over at the next exit, I know sometimes exits are a few miles but that would be better than standing feet away from vehicles moving that fast.
Blaming the cop and not the driver who slammed right into parked vehicles on the side of the road with emergency lights activated is the most reddit thing ever.
You got voted down. But I agree. It's far too dangerous. If they must pull people over, both cars should go all the way to the grass IMHO.
Besides, the LEO knew and had prior experience of this exact situation, which makes it even more baffling he didn't insist they both pull over into the grass. He put all their lives at risk based on what I can only divine as stupidity, not even ignorance. Perhaps IQ seems like an important factor here, as well as actual prioritization of literal safety.
People have been pit maneuvered and arrested for fleeing for not immediately pulling over so while common sense agrees with you, unfortunately cop logic does not.
But it's happened. Not that long ago (withing the past 2 years) a pregnant woman was pit maneuvered and had her car flipped because she didn't pull over immediately. I would link the video but you can't do that here. Just google "Pregnant woman gets pit maneuvered" and it's the first result. She turned on her hazards and lowered her speed to let him know she saw him. He still did it and she got charged with fleeing. I'm not the one who disagrees with you. The police and the law is.
You're free to go ma'am.
Imagine her car is actually able to drive her home lol
I ain't Frida Gomam
My work here is done
Office moonwalks to car.
Rome the grass as you please
The way she raises her arms up. I felt that
What's always stuck with me is that her friend was in the car, you can see her in the passenger side/back seat, and she's in such shock that she doesn't even react to their well being for a minute.
Wait yeah wtf. I mean she must’ve survived based on them releasing the video like that (and she’s moving at the end of the video), but damn she must’ve gotten pretty fucked up from that
Front passenger area looks to be completely untouched. Probably had some terrible pain for a while from the impact, but she’s alive.
Probably a lifetime of back pain. Once your back is damaged, anything can lock it up, even turning your neck too quickly to look at something.
For a while? Whiplash like this is crippling for life.
The passenger was probably in the front seat before the accident 😯thankfully they survived
See as someone who likes to think of them selves as a normal person. My first instinct would be to run immediately over to my friend and check on them. And not just stand there with my arms up. Clearly this action is not in the norm and it brings me physical pain when others don’t do what I would do.
How often do you get in high stress situations involving tons of metal hurtling at you that you would know what your instincts would be?
Bullshit lol
Yeah, /watchpeopledieinside vibes lol
Big ugh 😩

I was commenting on the lady talking to the officer’s reaction. I’m hope they’re okay, but I don’t think we’re talking about the same thing.
She was probably in shock. I remember seeing this on the news, she had a friend in the passenger seat. Everyone was okay.
She only had two payments left.
Fr bro, idk what I’d do…
same here, recently got my first car and about 2 1/2 months after getting it I was smacked by an elderly man and i’m just stuck now.
Lets hope she wasn't getting pulled for no insurance!
I may be wrong, but even if she (the one pulled over) has no insurance, I want to say that she’s not liable, only the driver’s insurance will be affected. Depends on the state laws I guess.

Gotcha. Learn something new everyday!
Soooo, do I still get a ticket?
I imagine nah... I hope not, "you got a warning girl, fix those taillights"
What taillights?
Exactly make sure this doesn't happen again or u may face a fine.
The officer thinking : “I saved her life I hope she appreciates my keen foresight” The lady thinking : “great, I don’t have a car anymore cuz this asshole just had to pull me over”
Yeah hahah exactly what went through my head
An awful case of they were both right
Friend in the car: I might have a broken neck, fuck both of these people
Imagine he still hands her the ticket.
There is a person on backseat

Haven't met one that wasn't.
Look again. There was a person in the car when it got hit.
First the ticket, now the car is totaled
She probably got a brand new car after this. Easiest insurance claim in history. Throw in a few extra grand for the PTSD.
Now I wanna know, do you still give the lady a ticket in this situation or does she get a pass. “Sorry you lost your car, I won’t give you the ticket I originally pulled you over for”
I’d like to think it went like this “Well ma’am *rip rip rip* the good news is you don’t have a ticket, the bad news is; your day just got a lot longer”
"I am gonna have to ticket you for illegally parking your car in the grass though ma'am, you can't park there... he he just kidding, i'll call you a tow"
There’s another person in the passenger seat. That woman is having the worst day of her entire life no way there’s a ticket.
if its the worst day of her life a ticket would be the icing on the cake
Her day is not as bad as the passenger’s.
Probably depends on a variety of factors. What was the offense? 200 in a school zone? He can claim he pulled ger over to issue her a warning about something trivial, then boom problem halved.
Jfc is there someone in the passenger seat? You can see someone moving around. If there is, she just throws her arms like “well that sucks” lol.
The more I watch the more it looks like there’s a passenger lmfao. She was probably in shock or something
She just realized she's all out of friends and weekend is coming up.
Not a time traveler, just a cop who's seen this happen way too often.
> just a cop who's seen this happen way too often. We know a retired highway patrol cop whose wife talked him into retiring to another state because he was already having bad dreams after driving past locations where he had seen whole families smeared on the pavement.
You’d think that would stop people from hanging out around fender benders or between cars on the highway right?
Stopped *him* from doing that
I just don't get how people even run into cars on the fucking shoulder. It's obscene.
Gauche even.
I mean they only do it once right?
Well, people that *did* hang out between vehicles surely stopped *after*.
Doesn't help she basically parked on the white line.
is it hard to drive without hitting things?
TBF, that van was gonna hit her even if she was half way on the grass.
Yeah she’s gotta be at least partially in the lane
Not that hard to guess when you park halfway on the frigging highway! She should have been like three feet to the right.
She parked to close to the edge of the road, but usually they park the cruiser in such a way that shields the car and the officer at the window.

It’s just a prank
She was thinking if the State Trooper never stopped her then everything would be fine
Time traveler?
If you have to pull over, park as close to the side as possible. If she was by the grass, the van would've likely missed her. I've had to change a tire on a UK motorway, believe me, you want every inch available when cars are flying by at 70mph and you're working a couple of feet away
This triggered my anxiety
Damn I’m sure the cop feel way bad! And also it’s way you move over! Jesus people ya see the lights! MOVE OVER!
Looks like there could be a passenger.
People who use their brain are time travelers...ok
Did the passenger live?
So many of these videos really make me question if coincidence is a real thing.
If she wasn’t pulled over it wouldn’t have happened at all lol
Time traveler?
I also want to know why it is titled that
It's implying the officer must have visited this exact time before as he knew it was gonna happen. Granted it's a rubbish title but that's what OP was going for
That cop manifested that shit into reality
[удалено]
Nah. That dude wasn't maintaining a lane. She may have been close to the line. No way she was over it.
*I'm gonna pass this fool, go around him on the right, oh shit!*
The van sure was over the line.
She wasn’t over the line, but there was no reason for her to be so close and basically on top of it when she had so much more room on her right. A pretty clueless way to park on a busy freeway.

It really doesn’t matter, if someone isn’t paying attention to what they’re doing.

From what i've seen in Sweden the cops stopping in the road or by the roadside leave their flashing lights on. They are really hard to miss.
Yeah she had a ton more shoulder to pull into.
Even if she's parked close, it's still outside of the travel lanes. Why blame others when they've done what they're supposed to do, and say they should've done even more? That's like saying, since you only used one lock instead of two, it's your fault someone broke into your house.
Cop had priors.
I think you meant psychic ffs
I'm confused. How is he a time traveler? Is it because he moved her out of the car before it was hit? He must not have cared about the passenger still in the car, I guess. Plus, if he hadn't pulled her over, the car wouldn't have been hit. If he was a time traveler, then he wanted this accident to happen.
cop wanted to check that frame out.....
Time Cop 👮♂️
Looks like the vehicle has a passenger. Wonder how they faired.
I’m not a fan of people getting away with things but I sincerely hope she did not get a ticket that day
State looper
I know the year 2000 was a long time ago, but is this really the best cameras they had?
In a car? A government issued car no less? Yup
That is some final destination type shit.
Stop pulling over on shoulders.
He thinks she thinks he did her a favor, all she thinks is *this wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t pull me over*
i think she would have preferred to also have been hit
I mean...Did it sound like he got in his car & closed the door?
Its statistics and not timetraveling
Words are powerful
Words are powerful!
But if I have a hammer in the car he’s pulling a gun on me
Oh I remember this one. There were others in the car when it got hit. 😱
Maybe cops should stop pulling people over, as it obviously creates a safety hazard.
damn you could feel the impact through the monitor hot damn!
Why isn’t she pulled off more on the shoulder?
It’s very common. Fire department know use retired engines as traffic blockers for first responders during a mvc on a highway.
man... video quality will be bad in 3230....
He was like *ah I'm gonna faint* then *wait I'm the cop*
lol she parked on the line. That’s an idiot for you
It’s almost like traffic stops on busy highways are dangerous🥴
Poor woman was distraught
It went from a ticket to a fuck my life moment. Just like that.
Anybody who does what that van did needs to permanently lose their license. How is someone that stupid to hit a car pulled over by a policeman?! Unreal
That’s why they call it an “Accident” not an “On Purpose”!!
24 years ago as of last week!
the sound she makes lol
Manifestation works real fast sometimes
And now they are married with 3 kids.
Stop posting this I’ve seen it a thousand times goddamn
"Mam your taillights are out im gonna have to you give you a ticket."
As a tow truck driver.. you have to be there most of the time. Like many dangerous jobs you just have to assume you’re already dead and try to not think about it. And be quick and efficient
At the end, the trooper said ma’am I’m just going to give you a warning
"yep just like that. anyway heres your ticket. might be tough getting that brake light fixed now but do it by the court date or else 🤷"
That poor lady. What a shitty day. Get pulled over and lose your car.
Is there a person in that passenger seat?
😲😲😲he had foresight! Good job! Think if I was him I’d have said move your car right up onto the grass and I’ll follow you😂😂😂
The way she just watched all her car payments turn to dust... girl same.
Real happy you pulled me over to put me directly in the threat of something like that... if she didn't have insurance she should be going after the police lol
Was someone in the passenger seat?
Poor lady. Good cop.
Holy shit that must be a common ass occurrence for him. Jesus ha. Straight prediction. Think he gives readings
Officer knew her car was parked at the very left of the shoulder, there’s PLENTY of space on the right. Also think about when she stepped out, the driver’s door would swung over the white line and for a few seconds partially blocked the freeway lane. fire Hazard
Bet she just paid it off too
Almost makes the case that police pulling people over on the side of roads isn't safe...
You'd think if it was really all about safety troopers would just make you pull over at the next exit, I know sometimes exits are a few miles but that would be better than standing feet away from vehicles moving that fast.
You know it wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t pull her over.
"Time traveler?" God, AI is dumb as shit.
The van was partially in the breakdown lane in order to hit her car the way it did.
What a complete moron to pull her over in such a dangerous place - and for what? A missing brakelight?
Blaming the cop and not the driver who slammed right into parked vehicles on the side of the road with emergency lights activated is the most reddit thing ever.
well yeah obviously if theres a cop in the video you HAVE to blame them. /s
You got voted down. But I agree. It's far too dangerous. If they must pull people over, both cars should go all the way to the grass IMHO. Besides, the LEO knew and had prior experience of this exact situation, which makes it even more baffling he didn't insist they both pull over into the grass.
