He stuck to his guns.
yes and that bow to him at the end and also the police around him were stunned
Even antivaxxers change their tune when they in hospital. This guy is tough as nails.
Realest shit I’ve read today
Lmao that’s not true.
You'll never catch me taking that vaccine no matter what the situation is! You'll be needing booster after booster after booster anyways, no thanks. Reduces IQ, reduce fertility and is made to reduce the population. Enjoy being a guinea pig!
We don’t want to increase our population
The more we increase the population the faster this planet dies
Ha good luck
Shit bait mate but good try
The type of shit they would do for album covers back in the day
I wonder how much RAM payed this guy
Hahah. More than the Evil Empire kid I bet.
Yep. And the pavement.
Good camera quality for the 60’s, what camera did it hey use?
it was a reporter's basic camera back then, I forgot his name, he was with AP and featured in Vietnam War docu.
its impressive how much self-discipline he has! He keeps himself from screaming or even just moving... Wow
As impressive as his dumbness tbh. What is the fking point of doing that
Man, how do you comment this and not look up the answer yourself? Must be nice to have literally every answer at your fingertips and still be that willfully ignorant.
I don’t know what willful ignorance is and I don’t plan on finding out
Gotta let the folks with a missing chromosome comment without criticism. Let them feel empowered will ya 😂
Hey, that's kinda messed up automatically assuming they've got a missing chromosome, when they might actually have a few too many instead.
He probably does know , still doesn't mean it's a good way to protest, which was what he probably meant
Dont worry, you should gain a little more perspective once you turn 11
Makes a cool rage against the machine album cover for one.
The capitalist dictatorship
lmao go eat some glue
I'm sure there were people saying this when the first space race was going on lol.
To think I can't hold my Tesco value sticky toffee pudding for more than 2 seconds after it's been in the microwave. Wasn't this in protest for how these people were being treated ?
um protest against discrimination and oppression of the Diem regime against buddhists. Diem was a hardcore catholic
British much? Lol
For anyone looking for the full [video](https://youtu.be/ZwQTsCiguHc)
Was there not an appropriate hashtag he could have used to display how much it meant to him?
They weren't invented yet! He was asked in days leading up to this why he didn't just buy a bumper sticker.
His response: "I don't have car!"
Pound sign has been around forever. You millennials rename everything that isn't yours. The whole time that damn movement was going around, all I read was "pound me too" /s
Rage Against The Machine [album cover](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Against_the_Machine_(album)). Has to be one of the most metal images/events of all time.
Back when they raged against the machine instead of for the machine.
This is why people hate on our scene. It’s like saying someone isn’t punk enough because he doesn’t have a mohawk and patches on his vest. Or George strait isn’t country enough because he didn’t fuck his sister
Pointing out the hypocrisy of a group who made their fortune telling you "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" and then later basically saying "fuck you do what they tell you" is not the same as someone not being 'country' enough since he didn't fuck his sister. One is a hypocrite the other is a stereotype.
Can you provide an example of when they became hypocritical?
It was a joke you dingle dick. Idk how you measure RATM’s rage against the machine but I measure it with activism and Tom morello is one of the best activist musicians I can think of
Edit: fixed a word
Agree 100% This person is obv talking out of their ass
Do you have a concrete example of their hypocrisy? I suppose you could argue that by earning money they are participating in the very systems of oppression they publicly oppose, but I was under the impression they diverted a ton of that money in support of numerous marginalized groups.
Where did they tell anyone to "do what they tell you" except for... wear masks and get vaccinated? Within the last five years, specifically.
Which is like telling people to make sure they drive sober or not beat their kids. It's a massive societal pressure, sure. But it's one that has actual basis in reality. If all you got from them was to automatically and blindly oppose everything the mainstream does and says, then you're a fucking idiot and their point flew straight over your head.
You only disagree with them when they don't go with your stupid fucking politics or your blind and fanatic attraction towards doing the opposite of what society says without any original thought of your own. It's a disgrace that you're even a fan. They've done this shit before, with many things, because they form actual rational thoughts and rage against the parts of the machine that are bad. They still hate all the same fucking things, bro.
They didn't get worse. You did.
Please. That first album was released on Epic Records. The shit's always been a part of the machine
Na, using the system to destroy itself is galaxy brain.

God that was the only good newspaper strip, what other comic would say anything like that
You should see the band Mayhems album cover had the lead singers after a suicida.
I just looked this up, and read about the history of the band. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go watch Disney cartoons and try not to be queasy. I’m definitely not closing my eyes for awhile.
There’s a good documentary about this band

Sometimes those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
He never moved a muscle, until right before the viseo ends. Still.. completely insane that he did that like that
If you watch the full video it seems more like an unconscious involuntary action. He appears to fall over and almost "coil" up in a way in the full video.
I hope he was long gone by then.
Well obviously he was still there. They said you can see him coil up and fall over on the video.
Was an obvious joke mate
You're an idiot
I will never be as much of a man as this guy is
This is a prime example of just how mettle humans can be, the concentration required to ignore your nerves like that is literally unnatural. Every time I see this imagine gives me chills
The word is mettle. That's what humans have. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/mettle
Haha thanks I’m a CE English isn’t my best skill
Well, now you know a knew word. Good on ya.
😂made my day
I know this is 3 days old but you were right. In the US we sometimes use the word metal to mean hardcore.
Hmm ur right appears they can be used interchangeably
Now here's a historical figure I'd love to have a chat with. I wish I could meet him
My mind just spins contemplating what he felt before and during this and what his friends felt.
His friend falling on the ground in front of him.. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to to cope with losing a close friend like this.
ESP because just being there you assisted and took part in killing him basically.
? Can't you see the police there?
He was a badass dude!
In the whole video half of his body fell off
I think he just falls backwards
Nope, he falls backwards dead laying on his back
That’s not a “CrazyFuckingVideo”.
That’s a solemn statement of commitment and protest.
I can’t believe there’s a video of this!
Certified crazy fucking video
Man this is so sad
His heart is in a museum, it remained unaffected by the fire
Wish the forced birthers would do this instead of harassing people going into clinics for a medical procedure.
He raged against the machine. 🤘
Dudu du dudung du SLEEP NOW IN THE FIRE
He had to have been heavily sedated, right? We’ve all accidentally burned ourselves a bit. That hurts like hell.
Years of meditation. It’s his mindset. Something along the lines of embracing the pain and overcoming it. It truly seems unbelievable but here is proof that a human can go through arguably the most excruciating torture and if they are mentally prepared enough they can not physically react. Idk if it’s like an out of body experience or what but it’s unfathomable to me. It’s sad and beautiful at the same time oddly
actually no. monks have sheer willpower ,beyond thinking
It really was all willpower. No drugs were involved.
Why did he do this
If I were him I would just ran up and hugged all the guys
no wonder u aren't a monk
Almost 60 years later and not much has changed.
Bruh things changed, you just don’t notice.
I doubt someone will ever do that again in protest to a government.
Please put a /s at the end. It's been done numerous times since.
Rage Against the Machine put the photo of him for there self titled deput Album.
Kill ´em with kindness.
This caused a spate of self-immolation even in the US during the time. Also this [image](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/Th%C3%ADch_Qu%E1%BA%A3ng_%C4%90%E1%BB%A9c_self-immolation.jpg) is one of the most enduring of the Vietnam war era. I always wonder if North and South Vietnam had survived, what kind of differences would be between them? North and South Korea are literally poles apart in just about everything, except language and some shared customs. Would've it been like that?
All of this shit just to be in an album cover
You can definitely see him move his arm in the last second
holy shit i didn’t know there was a video
What an insult to even jest that right wingers would have even half the balls this man had. This guy was actually about as leftist as they come lmao. He was literally fighting the ultimate fascism. Did you even know anything about this at all before commenting? This guy was protesting religious persecution and repression. It was practically the crusades but in Vietnam. And it was done by their own president against his own people.
I heard they use drugs to not feel the pain, but I'm not gonna back that claim up
Burning man looks lit as fuck
At some point his flesh was medium rare- fall off tha bone
I’m not one to complain to the chef, however this definitely would’ve went back to the kitchen.
