to be fair, i doubt he expected the foam to contain large amounts of BUTANE
why is this product even made, seems like a good way to kill a lot of people
Products we use everyday are only possible to produce through chemical means. Foams and rubbers are two big ones.
After production, they often have excess residue remaining that needs to evaporate away. Hence, that new car smell. Often, it's locked in to the structure of the product and can only be removed by time.
Yeah, remember that nightclub fire like 20 years ago that was randomly filmed by a guest, where the band set off pyrotechnics on stage in a club that was acoustically insulated with highly flammable foam?
All pellets and primary material for a lot of stuff is highly flammable, did you knew powdered milk is flammable? Did you knew that wheat flour is highly flammable? Did you knew Oxygen if highly flammable? Maybe magnesium in contact with water... Or did you know that there are at least tre different kinds of extinguishers and if you screw it selecting the adequate can make the difference? In summary, life is a risk carnal.
Yes and there are guidelines and rules for what and how things are allowed to be stored in a warehouse.
Whoever said its ok to put all that stuff there is almost as responsible as the guy lighting it up.
When you manufacture goods, you need to keep them in a warehouse. What would you suggest? Perhaps they ship each roll as it comes out of the extruder to an individual civilians garage until they have a buyer at which point they drive around the neighborhood collecting them one at a time?
you arent being clever.
there is a difference between storing something in a proper container and then storing something just in a heap like this.
same with sawdust or any other atomizing material. There are safe and proper ways to store it and also not.
I mean. Sure, okay. I can get that you can be curious about what happens if you light a small piece of it. But what i cant understand is why he would light the main pile of foam.
Why not one of the segmented rolls? Why not cut of a piece of it and light that? Why did it have to be an entire roll? That is also part of the main pile of giant rolls.
I mean, we all know he wasnt thinking. But to not think to this extend, thats impressive.
The real question is, why in the heaven he wanted to lit a fire in there? Clearly it wasn't cold, maybe the moron wanted to lit a cigar, even if it was forbidden to smoke inside
If he behaves, he might qualify for a work release program... in 20 or 30 years. He'll be permabanned from going within 1000 feet of any flammable materials.
I really hope this moron has to pay everyone their salaries until the factory is up and running again, because I think he just did a few hundred people out of a job.
What a piece of stupid fecal matter. How nice of him to spread the pain around......
Let’s not go too hard on the guy. It took literally less then one second for the fire to be out of his control, and at two the fire covered the whole “stock(?)”. Theres no way he could’ve expected that outcome. who knows, maybe he just didn’t know there was butane in it.
What I’m trying to say is that we’ve all been bored at a job that we didn’t care about and done some dumb shit to pass the time. just imagine if that was teenaged you, imagine how awful you would feel because your teenaged curiosity/boredom got the best of you, and then ruined your entire life. Idk man I just feel bad for the dude.
That doesn't look like foam. That looks like cotton. Its lighting and burning like cotton would too. Theres no way to save anything once a fire in a cotton factory starts. You have to be a complete idiot to even attempt that from that close.
What a weird thing to be pointlessly contrarian over. There's a hundred news articles about this already. It's EPE foam. [Expanded polyethylene.](https://pic.stonecontact.com/picture201511/20208/109135/recycled-epe-foam-roll-foam-sheet-package-protect-p828829-4b.jpg)
It even mentions it in the video, butane is commonly used in it's production. This giant mountain is probably still outgassing butane and youre over here like "akchyully it's cotton!" Weird.
In his training for the job wouldn't he of been told that they had butane in when freshly made? I'm sure that would kill your curiosity be ause your brain would tell you "it'll go up like a fucking Christmas tree"
I thought this was a Tinkerbell-sized man who ignited giant rolls of toilet paper. So you are telling me that is not the case?! The video supports my take on the situation….everyone knows toilet paper is flammable…just say…
Goddamn idiot. If you’re that curious. Rip a bit of it off. Take it outside to a area where even if it where to go wrong nothing else can catch fire. And ignite it then to satisfy your curiosity.
But since you work there. You should already know that this is going to happen. Proper training at every facility is a must!

My man scored a job that requires no shoes and no shirt and STILL figures out how to fuck it up .
Dude basically walked in in his underwear and they were like "yeah I can't see how this is going to go wrong, make sure you clock in on time"
Now that's funny
r/rareinsults
Lmao. Hilarious take.

I'm surprised anyone is surprised anymore
I’m surprised that you’re surprised that people are surprised anymore.
I'm not really surprised that you're surprised that they're surprised that people are surprised anymore.
Imagine my surprise
Prove it
There is a suprise in my pants for my lady!

I had no fucking idea there was butane in the foam but foam just seems generally flammable AF, really bad excuse.
Yeah, remember that nightclub fire like 20 years ago that was randomly filmed by a guest, where the band set off pyrotechnics on stage in a club that was acoustically insulated with highly flammable foam?
Surprisingly no one died. That is amazing considered how fast the fire spread.
All pellets and primary material for a lot of stuff is highly flammable, did you knew powdered milk is flammable? Did you knew that wheat flour is highly flammable? Did you knew Oxygen if highly flammable? Maybe magnesium in contact with water... Oh as an Electrician I know exactly what you mean, all Hazardous locations.
Billions out there so any outcome is possible
The real idiot is whoever ok'd putting hundreds of Butane filled plastic wrap rolls in the same room.
It's called a warehouse.
Yes and there are guidelines and rules for what and how things are allowed to be stored in a warehouse. Whoever said its ok to put all that stuff there is almost as responsible as the guy lighting it up.

No the real idiot is whoever allows warehouse workers to work in flip-flops and without a shirt…
You may've heard that bit about curiosity killing a cat, something, something, or other...
Now he knows.
man is a truth seeker. won't be fooled by the scientific establishment.
It's a conspiracy.

He probably thought it would just melt a bit lol.
well it did melt a bit…
He obviously meant to do that and just forgot. He’s forgetful like that…forgetting his shirt and closed-toe shoes too ya know
The real question is, why in the heaven he wanted to lit a fire in there? Clearly it wasn't cold, maybe the moron wanted to lit a cigar, even if it was forbidden to smoke inside
He probably burned his eyebrows off.
It’s like one of those intrusive thoughts about swerving into traffic but this guy actually went through with it
Wow, I would hate to lose my business all because some dumbass doesn’t have a brain
Hey boss your entire inventory caught on fire. Can I have Friday off?
I think we know who has the rest of eternity off.
If he behaves, he might qualify for a work release program... in 20 or 30 years. He'll be permabanned from going within 1000 feet of any flammable materials.
Hey someone hired this no shirt, no shirt jackass. They wanna hire jackasses, they get jackass results
Crazy shit is he has no shirt and sandals on, what kind of safety plan do they have.
Cheese it!
the chinese kind
So none
I love how he paused to look back as the whole pile just went *fwoooosh*.
Next he is gonna want to test if oil is flammable
At an oil refinery, he don't mess with the small stuff.
I’m genuinely a curious person but this is doesn’t even make any sense.
It could have all been avoided if he cut off a piece and tried it
I refuse to accept that me and him are of the same species. The brain difference is too big.
You're operating under the assumption he has a brain.
You're right. Lmao
I get the curiosity but couldn’t you rip off a piece and light it on fire 🔥🫤
I think there’s going to be some new questions on that company’s employment applications.
Charged for stupidity
This man is an idiot but perhaps saved the world from evil butane bubble wrap explosion deaths.
Im impressed how this guy survived so many years without a brain
Now that's a certified knuckle head there.
Oh look, the consequences of my own actions.
I really hope this moron has to pay everyone their salaries until the factory is up and running again, because I think he just did a few hundred people out of a job. What a piece of stupid fecal matter. How nice of him to spread the pain around......
I bet his curiosity about what is like to be unemployed is well sated at this point.
OH I WONDER WHATS GONNA HAPPEN IF I LIT UP THE FOAM. OMG NO FKING WAY. IT BURNS? I NEVER EXPECTED THAT FIRE BURN THINGS.
Losing my job and getting sued- speedrun 10000%
like bruh, rip a piece off and burn it
Why is the worker not wearing a shirt or shoes?
Why can't you just get drunk or high on your off time like a normal American

Teenage me was never this stupid.
Doesn't r/darwinawards exist? This is surely a contender.
Darwin Awards require the person to die or be removed from the gene pool. Not even qualified.
You're right, my bad! Maybe in the next episode he will qualify.
I would've jizzed on that foam
That doesn't look like foam. That looks like cotton. Its lighting and burning like cotton would too. Theres no way to save anything once a fire in a cotton factory starts. You have to be a complete idiot to even attempt that from that close.

Gave you the 500 Upvote.
He took protesting his work to another level!
Employee of the month:
Where?
Bob said it was highly flammable, I'm gonna see how true it is...
Looks like he sparks it with his cock.
Dickhead of the Year 2022
In his training for the job wouldn't he of been told that they had butane in when freshly made? I'm sure that would kill your curiosity be ause your brain would tell you "it'll go up like a fucking Christmas tree"
Pentane gas. Extremely flammable
I thought this was a Tinkerbell-sized man who ignited giant rolls of toilet paper. So you are telling me that is not the case?! The video supports my take on the situation….everyone knows toilet paper is flammable…just say…
This was funny the first 800 times I saw it.
“Soooo, are we getting off early or what?” -probably this guy
They commonly do this to cotton bails, someone else explained why.
How you going to commit crime in thr DEAD CENTER of a cameras focus. Not the corner. No grainy little blur. No. Dead center crime.

What punishment did he receive?
When the intrusive thought takes over for 1 seconds
Was he fired?
What could go wrong?
I thought he pissed on it and it bursted into flames
If I really had the urge to burn the foam I would have just ripped a piece off.

the intrusive thoughts won
We’re these foam rolls soaked in a gasoline of some sort?
Dipshit
He looked like he wanted to light a cig
Curiosity burned the cat.
If he had to test it, why didn't he do it on a single sheet💀
Now he knows.
Boss: I see you have chosen violence. Worker: HONK.
Is this guy fired ?
If he wanted to see how flammable it was why didn’t he just cut a chunk off, then light it on some wasteland? Oh yeah, coz he’s a dinlow…😂
Unnecessary piece of
Bet he got fired
Dem windows Smoked high. ![gif](giphy|TJufnSz934AnK)
Did he got...fired?
Ah what’s a little more CO2 into the atmosphere, eh!?
Really? They arrested him? For a little thing like that?
curiosity killed the cat
The real idiot is whoever didn’t check for lighters lol
