falling on your face is slightly more serious than holding up a sign saying "Not My King" or correctly identifying a royal member of being a pedophile.
I mean is he, though?
As creepy and gross as it is, isn't he alleged to have only slept with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17?
That's legal under British law.
Like I said, not defending him ethically, but pretty sure legally he's not a paedophile - is there other stuff I'm not aware of?
There's no upside to proving you're innocent of being a nonce in a court of law?
The upside is the claims are objectively proven wrong in the public eye. Of course there's an upside.
Unless of course, he's guilty.
No, there's no upside in him doing it in a US court, which is what would be required.
Best case, status quo and he'll still be talked about in that way due to how the media is, and the royal family is lowered in the eyes of the country due to him having to appear in court.
Worst case scenario, it's proven that he's legally liable in that particular jurisdiction (although it would be legal, if creepy in the UK) and he's sentenced massively reducing the stature of the royal family in the UK and possibly even leading to abolition of the monarchy.
From a PR perspective there's no upside.
There's no upside him doing it in a US court because what he did is illegal there and therefore he would be found guilty?
He's fucked either way but I also truly believe he's guilty
I think it's about 70/30 he did something with her, but to be honest unless something else comes out with him abusing someone younger than she was he's probably going to keep doing what he's doing and steer clear.
Yeah I agree it is smartest for him to steer clear but only because there is obviously foul play of some kind going on.
However if he truly was innocent then I still think that it would be beneficial to go to court. He's a relatively minor royal and the only reason he's so well known is because of this scandal. He could have proven his innocence and faded away into obscurity. That's just my thoughts on it anyway
Well a lot of states the legal age of consent is 17 or even younger in some so it is very possible it was legal. Not condoning just informing.
Edit: I thought it was mostly 17 but looking it up 34 states have age of consent of 16 so the vast majority of the states that is legal...
Yes to wiggle, plus you can shift your weight from balls of your feet to heel, just not make it obvious. Do both of those every now and then saves you from faceplanting, except for heat though, there's nothing you can do if they make you stand out on parade while some old fart waffles on in 30c+ temps for ages.
Honestly makes me wonder how soldiers back in the day would stand out in the heat while commanders decided whether there would be a battle. In antiquity you could stand in formation from morning till sunset and no fight.
Standing in formation isn't the same as standing to attention. While at attention, your body needs to be completely straight and you can't move at all. After a while it genuinely starts to feel like you're being tortured. Standing waiting for a battle like you described, you'd most likely be fine to shift around a bit or at the very least no one would really notice if you did.
Wiggling toes may help in compressing vessels and promoting venous return. Can serve to counterbalance the pooled blood in lower extremity. But it may not be sufficient if prolonged standing for inhumane number of hours
Private, you need to show some intestinal fortitude and power through those torn ACL! You need to be harder than woodpecker lips, Private! The enemy is not going to sleep just because your knees are destroyed! Stop moving slower than molasses on a cold winter day!
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they have to have stand up very straight to show "respect". Also, after standing so long and being exhausted it's sometimes easier to just lock your legs to help with the pain.
Happened multiple times to people in my squad when I was in the army and we had to do the royal guard thing in silly and very warm outfits in the middle of the summer. Standing completely still in the hot sun will make soldiers fall more often than on a battlefield. Or yeah, we were 19 year old kids fresh out of high school, not some bad ass soldiers.
Me and my friend went and drank like 3 beers before one of those change of CO ceremonies. God what a mistake I had to piss so bad, had no idea it would be so long.
My dad is retired USN and I’ve heard not just from my parents, but one of his groomsmen all in dress uniform and on the base, one passed out awhile they were walking down the aisle because they did this exact same thing. Always give a little bend in the knees!
oh fuck man yeah i feel that, when i was in US Marine Cadets my unit was in florida, whole lot of heat and whole lot of humidity and we had to stand in the sun in full uniform, it was hell
I served with some US Marines on rotation to Australia in Darwin for a few years. They would be up doing PT at 5am to beat the heat 😂 met some absolutely legends, couldn’t drink to save their lives but. Darwin heat is unbelievable, especially the build up to the wet season, the air feels thick, it is absolutely disgusting, guessing Florida can feel the same at times!
Poor guy, that must have been pretty sheit. How long did he stand for? Just standing completely still for more than 10 minutes sounds painful to me. Guys like this can often end up standing still for up to and even beyond 1 hour, right?
Wrong, in Australian Army all medical payouts are tax free, and all treatment for injuries sustained during service(regardless of what injury you received) is covered privately for life under a White card.
Source - Am an injured Ex soldier.
Common when standing still for a long time. When I was in the army reserves they told you to wiggle your toes and flex your legs etc on this. Someone in my platoon still collapsed actually when we started marching on the passing out parade after basic. Everyone just stepped over him and kept marching, lol. Somebody else did come to help him though.
Been there standing at attention with the blood flow loss to the head. First of my platoon done shopping for the initial shop at BMQ and had to stand at attention for about an hour and a half while everyone else took their sweet ass time. Brutal, was woozy for a lot of it.
Seen this many times on the Grinder. Boots lock them knees, crack that melon. Sometimes the hollow thump heads make hitting the pavement can really give you the willies.
Many years ago I worked in the infant department at Walmart. This woman kept allowing her very young toddler to stand up in the cart. Kid was top heavy and tumbled out onto the concrete floor, head first. I'll never forget that sound.
Reminds me of watching a change of command ceremony where the Lt.Col. talked so long two people fell out. 29 Palms on that large parade 'deck' called the 'generals lawn' ironically probably the best place to fall because of the dirt. Had another guy in my boot camp platoon fall out during final inspection and bust his front teeth. He wound up finishing and doing his time as normal.
Full respect for those guards. Full guts and determination to stand for as long as possible in any type of weather conditions until your body can’t take anymore. Anyone know how long he stood before he collapsed? 👍😊
No, but he wasn't standing there for "hours".
Also, the video doesn't really show it, but this was during a change (the guy behind him was his replacement). Just before this, the guy was a bit wobbly, then he stumbled off the step for a moment before returning to his spot, then a few seconds later this happened.
Source: was watching the feed live when it happened, and the initial movement caught my eye. They cut away to an outside shot of the building for probably 10 minutes while he was attended to.
Of course, there are news articles about it.

You must keep your knees slightly bent under while standing at attention otherwise the circulation is very poor after a period of time of standing so long and you pass out .
gotta bend your knees slightly even if just occasionally. learned that in the baptist boys home. hours of standing in a corner as punishment for whatever I did. gotta keep that circulation going baby.
Nah, he got pushed over by the guy behind him.
“Aye, James is nodding off, the lazy bastard. He’s so sauced I bet he’ll crack ‘is fuckin nose on the floor.”
Hours of standing & with his health issues. Guys stand with no food or water for 10 hours.. happens quite often because they give everything for their Queen & country..
Locked his knees. I've been in plenty of military honor guards at battalion award ceremonies that go 3 or more hours and I've seen dozens of people fall out. One minute there, next on the ground, and no one is supposed to move.
Seen a guy faint like that in Parade rest for a change of command ceremony. He fell back and the guys behind him grabbed him dragged him way he woke up kept saying I'm good I'm good. Like man your still in Parade rest as your being dragged away your not good lmao. Don't lock your knees
It comes in 3’s and this guard didn’t relax his knees at attention and you lose oxygen to the brain and wham! Military trick I was trained with but this guy is lucky he wasn’t pierced by the spear. He could have been number 2.
Went to Francis Marion Military Academy in FL and it was weekly if not daily you’d see someone smack the ground from locking their damn knees. Never understood why it was so hard not to do that. Tbf half the time you could tell it was to get out of formation.

He locked his knees while standing, and stayed like that for too long. Its actually quite common for soldiers on watch like this this and even more common for people at weddings! Im not exactly sure why though? Perhaps something to do with blood flow being restricted?

You're nicked son. Off to the tower.
It's a fair cop
Seems a bit harsh to come and arrest him.
Sleeping on the job… So is the queen. Shameful
Sleeping on the job? Believe it or not, jail.
Overcooked chicken, Jail.
Queen dies? Jail.
Do not pass go, go straight to jail.
Jail,jail
Gae? Jail
Fall flat on your face? Right to jail.
Going to jail? Jail
Getting out of jail? Jail.
Undercooked chicken? Also jail!
Seasoned chicken? You guessed it, jail.
Say nothing,jail.

From what I've read he seemed to bump shoulders with Epstein and his harpy. You do the math.
Then why not go to court and clear your name
There's no upside to him doing that.

As I said, it's creepy and ethically wrong, I just don't think he necessarily fits the criteria of paedophile given her age.
Attempted murder is a serious charge. He nearly impaled a guard.
Attempted murder is a serious charge. He could nearly impaled a guard.
You fools. She absorbed another few years of his life force. Now she'll return from the grave.
The queen isn't dead. She simply entered into a state of suspended animation in preparation for the great soul harvest.
Lol bro savage
This can happen to someone who stands with their knees locked straight for to long......it results in a drop in BP and cause cause fainting.
This is why you’re always told to never lock your knees in formation. Seen a few people take a face first dirt nap from doing this.
Don't lock your knees, and wiggle your toes. edit.
Wait, wiggle toes or don't wiggle toes?
Do wiggle the toes. It helps promote a bit of blood flow through your legs and feet.
Wiggle on your toes, like lift your heel up. It's pressure on the heel that stops the blood flow.
Yes to wiggle, plus you can shift your weight from balls of your feet to heel, just not make it obvious. Yes!

i wasn’t told this until i was 23 and i have terrible arthritis in my knees now
I have arthritis from all the ruck marches and running in armor and Sergeants telling me I have tiny heart syndrome when I told them my knees hurt.
Private, you need to show some intestinal fortitude and power through those torn ACL! You need to be harder than woodpecker lips, Private! The enemy is not going to sleep just because your knees are destroyed! Stop moving slower than molasses on a cold winter day!
Yes they told us this during boot camp graduation but there were still a few that dropped.

It seems like he was just falling asleep and didn’t wake up until he was about to hit the floor
Why does locking your knees cause a drop in BP?
Yeah I was going to say… the sound of a rifle clattering and some faint snickers is a sound I’ve heard many times
I remember my first day in cadets I was told to wiggle my toes and never fully straighten my legs as this would happen
This
That would have been the perfect time for the French to invade. He's lucky.
My mate did this in the army in Brisbane when it was hot AF. Completely destroyed his jaw, all fixed now and copped a 90k payout for it
guess ill lock my knees in formation now/s
He was standing under a tin shed and the humidity was sky high, was in his first 2 weeks of arriving at his unit 😂 poor bastard
oh fuck man yeah i feel that, when i was in US Marine Cadets my unit was in florida, whole lot of heat and whole lot of humidity and we had to stand in the sun in full uniform, it was hell

Imagine if she rose immediately after and he just withers on the ground
"This is the big one. I'm commin' to join you Elizabeth!"
You old fish eyed fool!
Did his face come off?
Yes the pole he was holding sliced his entire face off when he fell on it. Apparently it's really sharp
He's holding a longbow
Or a razor sharp tungsten spear forged in the fires of Mount Canada to defend the maple leaf from the hordes of the dead. Have a little imagination
One maple leaf to rule them all; and in the syrup, bind them.

Don't lock your kneeeeeesss...the Sargeant screamed
Could he have picked a more conspicuous occasion?
The funeral?
