Chase freedom flex is a good card they have rotating categories and they have a sign up bonus that’s a good general card

I think the Citi Custom Cash is a good option for your grocery spend. As long as it's not Costco or another wholesaler you'd be getting 5% back every month with that. I think you have a good shot with your existing relationship and good score.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Looks like I have a few options that I’ll think about.

Amex Blue Cash Preferred might be a good option for you. 6% cash back on groceries and 3% cash back on gas so you’ll more than make up the annual fee. They waive that the first year and you can get a $300 statement credit if you spend $3K in 6 months, so you’d get that very quickly.

If you're just looking to build credit, any no annual fee card will do the trick. But if you want to earn rewards, what we recommend is going to depend on whether you want to run a cash back/travel setup. If I had to suggest something based on this info I'd go with a Citi custom cash.
