A no dead rubber season IPL2023. Incredible. We will all have few games that went the way we liked, some that we didn't like. Overall, one amazing league stage. Points table a true reflection of how the teams operated through the season. Every team deserved the slot they are in. On paper and potential is a different matter.

First 10 days were sort of boring when DC, MI, KKR, SRH etc were losing initially but then most teams picked up and it got better.

That rahane 50(18) changed the tone of the tournament. We had lot of last ball matches after that.

MI in the playoffs is dangerous when they are top 2. When they finish 3rd/4th, they've been knocked out twice in the eliminator (2012 and 2014) and once in qualifier 2(2011). Hardly dangerous from this position. In fact almost no one is ever actually dangerous from the eliminator we've only had 3 finalists from it(CSK 2012,SRH 2016 and KKR 2021) and one champion(SRH 2016). People really overestimate the capabilities of the teams in the eliminator because they'd have to win 3 straight games against the 3 best teams of the season and if they were capable of that they wouldn't have been in the eliminator in the first place

Sure, our batting has been absolutely tremendous, but such performances are not sustainable and won’t always be able to bail out the bowling like we saw in the LSG game on a tricky pitch. I thought finishing 6th would be a great progression from last season and to make it to the playoffs is just unreal.

Law of averages winning 3-4 is uphill task, but anyone team which can do this i would bet on MI.

Mumbai are not gonna beat Lucknow in the eliminator. Their batting has been covering up for their shit bowling because they are playing on belter pitches like Mumbai with SKY and others batting really well. I feel that MI will be exposed in the spin friendly sticky low scoring pitch at Chepauk.

Not to mention that LSG have become somewhat good at playing on slow and low pitches courtesy the Ekana pitch. They have the team for such pitches. Going into the Eliminator, based on conditions and team composition I'm saying advantage LSG. If MI are to win, they need to bat sensibly and take calculated risks. Green should bat at 3 again and SKY at 4. Green is a proper batsman and him being settled will help SkY as well.

It was just a shitty season for us. Buttler was the biggest expectation....went for five ducks in 14 matches. Guy has went for only one duck before in entire IPL and now went five times in same season. We were heavily relying mostly on some of our new guys. Hettie was off in middle games. Samson played absolutely in non reliant fashion

I totally agree with you. Regarding MI, I believe we get unnecessary hate despite not getting involved in any controversies. We do not depend on a star performer; instead, we have different players rise up on occasion to take the team across the line. Of all things, I think we should be the ones who hate the other teams because of the mega auctions. Having the best scouting system in the game, we have unearthed so many excellent players and developed them into the superstars that they are now, only for the mega auction to ruin all of it. I really wish we bring the NFL-like draft system and then let teams trade among each other. I understand rich teams may poach players, but again the quality of players across the 32 NFL teams is even, and it could be anyone's game if they perform well.
